I've been coming here since they opened. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Chattanooga, and I still desperately want it to be, but....it's gone so downhill lately. The time before last that we went, one chef quit unexpectedly. It seems like they don't have enough staff for a normal day, much less an emergency. We've consistent noticed that, as we've come here multiple times a week. Anyway, we waited forever for the hostess, and when we got seated, we waited forever for a server. Our server was also the bartender, and she was tending to the giant bar full of people and also at least six tables. It was uncomfortable just watching her try to keep up. So we go to order our usual sushi, and we can't because the chef quit. There was no info online about that when we made our reservation. We suck it up and order ramen, okoname age (sp? It's the tater tots with pork) and Brussels sprouts. My boyfriend gets sick almost immediately after these. Oof. We chalk it up to coincidence. After calling regularly to see if they have a sushi chef, we finally hear yes! So tonight we went there with our reservation ready. Again, when we go the host is nowhere to be found. We wait five minutes-ish while the waiting area fills up with people and finally the guy comes out. No apology or our wait, no nothing. Just shows us to our table. He likely has too many jobs for what he's being paid, if it's anything like the bartender. We fish some kind of black broom hair (?) out of our Brussels sprouts. I thought it was a hair hair at first, but it was too thick for that. We wanted to enjoy our experience, so we didn't say anything. We ordered two sushi rolls - the St. Elmo's fire and the daily maki. The daily maki had a giant bone in it. Strike number....I've lost count. I don't know. I want to love it here, but it's just not what it was in the beginning,. I think we've decided it's just here for drinks and elsewhere for food. This place has sadly forgotten how to be a restaurant :( read more

We've been to the original location in Nashville and had high expectations. It's downstairs slightly hidden, goes along with the Japanese Izakaya vibes. Plenty of room, we're seated quickly, nice mix of industrial and modern. Everything we had was delicious. The JFC is phenomenal, chicken wings were juicy, definitely recommend the St. Elmo's fire but be warned, it's spicy. Tonkatsu Ramen was amazing as always. Would recommend to anyone visiting, authentic Japanese food. read more

Perfect date night spot! Be sure to make a reservation in advance. To drink, we split a bottle of sake and each got a Ichiban beer, which was light and lovely. We ordered multiple small dishes including the fried rice, crispy rice with spicy tuna, and shishito peppers. They were all great, but the sauce and peanuts on the shishitos made it my personal favorite. We split the corn and meat skewers and a ramen, which was perfect because it's a hearty size. Great Japanese food in a cool underground izakaya. My husband, mom, and stepdad, and I stopped in for dinner this past weekend. (My husband and I had been to the Nashville location, but we decided to take my mom and stepdad when we went to visit them in Chattanooga for the weekend.) Great meal. My mom is vegan, so we decided to get a few veggie things so she could have some options to try. We started with edamame (very salty, very good), shishito peppers: figs, katsuobushi, sticky peanuts, honey-soy (very good, and vegan if you get it without the katsuobushi), and crispy brussels with miso-vin and rice krispies (so good). My husband got the pork belly yakitori, and then we shared the yellowtail jalapeno: thin, raw yellowtail with a slice of jalapeno and one leaf of cilantro on each slice of fish in an amazu sauce (very good, but I'm a big fan of yellowtail) and takoyaki: octopus hush puppies with miso butter (CRACK.). My mom and stepdad shared a vegan sushi roll (lucky belly: puffed tofu, avocado, shiitake, daikon, carrot) and the yasai shoyu (veggie ramen: veggie broth, burnt corn, greens, benishoga, mayu), which they enjoyed. My stepdad and I shared a bottle of nigori sake (Hakutsuru Sayuri), which was delicious. And I had a delicious cocktail as well - Tokyo barbee (strawberry hibiscus cordial, marquis brut, sancho syrup)! The service was great, and the decor (while perhaps not as cool as the Nashville location) is impressive. I'd recommend that you get a reservation if you'll be going for a dinner on a weekend night. It's not a cheap meal, but it's delicious. And worth the $$$ and the wait (we waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Saturday night around 6:30/7). A great place for dinner! read more

This isn't your $0.25 packet of ramen! This ramen is full of unique flavor! It's absolutely delicious ramen! I found out that they take seven days to cook the broth for the pork ramen which doesn't surprise me one bit due to its rich flavor. The food and service here is always great. We also got the Crispy Brussels, which is hands down the best way I've ever had Brussels sprouts. They're so delicious we dove into them too quickly for a photo. Lol. The biggest downside for this restaurant is you almost always have to have a reservation. If you don't have a reservation, you will most likely not get a table or you'll be waiting for quite a while. However, they will allow you to call ahead and put your name on a list which is a plus! read more

Okay so way overpriced. Portions are small. Going to this restaurant is to me strictly for the atmosphere. The food was good just not good enough to make this a go-to spot. I tried the crab ramen, good but nothing special. I tried several of the small plates they were all very yummy but small nd just not worth the price point. Good food, slow service We made a reservation for 8pm and arrived at 7:55pm. We were seated at 8:15pm and greeted by a friendly waiter within 5 minutes. We immediately placed an order for drinks, appetizers and food. After 30 minutes (8:45pm) I had to flag down the waiter and inquire about our drinks and appetizers. He ran to the back and immediately brought the appetizers and drinks out. The spicy miso edamame was bland. The crispy rice & tuna was amazing! At 9:05pm (45 minutes after placing order) I inquired with the waiter on our ramen. He went to the back and brought out our two dishes. The ramen was good. After bringing out dessert (mochi) I requested the bill. We sat around waiting for our server to bring our bill. We finally received our bill at 9:30pm; the last people to leave the restaurant. Two Ten Jack is one of the coolest restaurants I've been to in a while. Located underground, it's very understated from the outside. I walked into the dimly lit, very trendy restaurant and immediately felt inadequately dressed. I quickly learned it was silly to feel this way and everyone was dressed similarly casually. I requested a table over the bar despite just being a party of one, which the hostess was quick to accomodate. I decided to order a few small plates because on a 90 degree night, ramen felt too hot and heavy. I ordered the shishito peppers, j.p.c. (Japanese fired chicken), and brussels sprouts. I didn't love the fishy-tasting flakes that came on the shishito peppers, but the brussels more than made up for that. They were delicious. I also really enjoyed the j.p.c. It wasn't quite as crispy as I anticipated, but the breading was perfect and spicy and incredibly flavorful. read more

I really like the location and the atmosphere and vibe here with the lighting and seating areas that seems to transport you to a different place. We have been wanting to try for a while! The atmosphere was really cool. All of our food was good, however INCREDIBLY small portions. Be ready to spend a lot of money and try many different things because you have to buy a lot of food to feel somewhat full. We honestly were disappointed. After visiting rock city we ended up in this area and just happened to see the sign for Two Ten Jack. I love me son ramen and I haven't had some really good ramen in a while so we decided to give it a shot. The guy at the hostess stand seemed very confused when we walked in without a reservation... not sure why, place was pretty empty. Anyways he ended up sitting us in this center room with long cafeteria style tables. Few other people were here, kinda weird. Felt like we had been sent to the heathen walk-in zone. Whatever everything went great after that. Our server was very nice and everything came out promptly. We started with the free check-in edamame which were tasty. Then we had the pork belly yakitori... sooo good! For our entries we both had the tonkatsu ramen. It was very good. It had a white broth which I had never seen before but it was tasty. Definitely the worst ramen I've ever had. It didn't really have a flavor except for salty. The noodles were undercooked and tough. I couldn't even eat more the a few bites. It was definitely a shame for how incredibly expensive it is. Also our service was very disappointing. There weren't very many customers there when we went but there were many different servers. We went long periods without seeing ours and had to stop him and other waiters to get something he forgot and our check when we were ready to leave. Will not be back for sure. read more

My hubby and I wanted a new date night soot so we took a little trip. This place is perfect for a date night or a gathering of friends. There is so much space and mix of seating options. The ambiance created with the concrete bar, lovely lights, exposed brick, and reclaimed wood all underground is warm and, friendly with a modern meets farmhouse style. I felt Chip and Jo Jo had helped great the space. We were happy to get a spot at the bar in which we could see a lot of restaurants and all that was happening around us. We were created by friendly bartender who is supportive as he let us taste samples of cocktails on tap so we could make an informed decision. Which we are glad cause the pre-mixed drinks were not up our alley. We ended up sipping balanced cocktails from the menu. Yuzu sour and East by northwest were both delicious. The delectable food, as you can seen in our pics, began with the moist and tasty crab fritters. I left one fritter cut in perfect bites to continue to eat throughout the meal. Next was the dinner portion of the scrumptious spicy crab noodles. W had a tough time deciding between sushi and ramen so we got both. We also ordered the spicy tuna roll and the tofu plus my hubby needs some pork so he got he tots with pork and shrimp. I actually had a few pieces without the pork and the tots were crispy on the outside and oh so soft on the inside with a tasty sauce. When the bartender was looking to take away some of our empty dishes he looked into my ramen bowl saw I had a few bites left of my ramen, I said, "I can finish it" and he replied, "I believe in you." My chicken ramen was delicious, but the plates my colleague ordered were tiny in comparison to what was expected from the price. The egg that came with my ramen looked gross -- yolk was borderline gelatinous, which is never a form that you want your egg to be. J.F.C appetizer was a strong "ehh." I'm a huge fan of ramen so while in TN we decided to give this place a try. I'm so glad we did, previous reviewers were not wrong. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The rooms with communal tables were a bit brighter but it still seemed like the ambiance was in tact. The hostess sat us right away and offered a warm towel (which smelled Devine!) to clean our hands. Our waiter, Lance was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable. He was more than willing to let us taste a few of the local brews on draft to decide which we wanted. We opted for the pork ramen, fried rice and scallop skewer. Everything was full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. I'm not typically a fan on ginger but the ginger in the ramen was just enough and not super strong. Lunch date planned we got held up in 3 wrecks so didn't arrive until 1:36 knowing the closed at 2:00 at lunch. We're seated and ordered after about 5 minutes knew what we wanted as we've been here a couple times. The appetizers were great I inquired how hot the spicy crab noodles were was told not too hot (my husbands had before but wanted second opinion). They were SO spicy he tried and said he's never had them that spicy before (one of his favorite dishes). Could have been a fluke. Also noted another couple came in after we sat they stood in the entrance to be seated no one spoke to them and they finally inquired the response was " we close at 2:00" and they left. My buddy and I stopped in here while we were downtown for a training class. I was a little leery because there wasn't much on the menu. I opted for the Brussel sprouts because nothing else was obviously keto friendly. My sprouts came out in a small bowl and the portion size looked more like an appetizer than it did a main course. The price was also a little high but the first bight was amazing. The last bight was just as amazing. The sprouts we very tender and full of flavor. I'll certainly order them again if I return.
