A cute family run joint with surprisingly good food! One of the only places we visited more than once on our recent visit to the area. We loved starting with the special salad with Bibb lettuce, grapefruit, strawberries, walnut and poppy seed and snap peas. Trout dip was a good starter. The spicy chili was awesome and not spicy (we were told 3/5 spice, we probably would have called it 1/5- totally fine for our 2 and 4 year old). The favorite dish of our visits was the HUGE braised pork shank which was fall off-the-bone-tender and came in a super tasty mustard seed broth, accompanied by butternut squash, cranberry sauce, green beans. Next we loved the guisado de res - Mexican style stew with thick chunks of lean sirloin that were well seasoned, tasty and hearty. The tortilla strips and avocado were a good touch although the dish just lacked cilantro and queso fresco. The bison Bolognese was mushy and more of a baked lasagna, unfortunately not our favorite. Likewise we found the mushroom ragout pretty gloopy. We drinks were okay and there was plenty of pie to be had for dessert. The breakfast food was great at the drive thru coffee shop. However be aware the cafe will stop serving before closing. We arrived at 8:30 for dinner after spending the day in park and making the most of late sunset. We were told they weren't taking anymore guests even though we were there 30 mins before closing. Perhaps it's a Montana thing, but where I come from, they will let you in as long as they are open. read more

We walked in to get a huckleberry shake. My friend has celiac and asked if shakes had any sort of gluten in them. The guy who we presume was the owner didn't know so he went to ask someone else and then told us the shakes may be from a facility that contains gluten. My friend asked for an ingredients list and was flat out refused because the guy "didn't want to walk over there" . The guy was pretty rude and didn't even attempt to get anyone else's help. Our huckleberry pie taste test continues! This was the best of the three we had while visiting MT (but still not memorable). The pie had a decent flaky double crust and the filling was cooked down well: whole huckleberries intact with sugary goo holding them together. Our friends brought us this slice, so I can't personally comment on the service, but they had a few words on the frazzled and abruptness they encountered and they're usually not ones to say anything. We stopped at two sisters when we could not get through to many glacier because the road was closed for the season. The huckleberry pie sign brought us in and we were pleased with our huckleberry pie However we ordered the bison burger which was pretty expensive and it was nothing more than a plain hamburger you could get at a fast food place. Awesome, friendly service. Great local craft beer options. So many apps sounded good, but we went with old faithful: the onion rings which were so delicious! Very thick cut and awesome beer batter. Treat yourself to them and you won't be disappointed. The Trout and Waffles is pricey, but it is also a HUGE portion. Trout is perfectly flash fried leaving it moist and flaky (warning for those who may be sensitive to skin: it is still on). The huckleberry butter on the waffles is incredible. The huckleberry syrup is very sweet, so I was happy it was on the side to dip rather than poured on. It wound up being so sweet we didn't need dessert. read more

In town visiting and was recommended this spot by the clerk at a store nearby. Definitely a wait on a busy Thursday night but worth it. It's a very busy place. I like that they have a separate bar area where you can order drinks while you wait, Alcohol or non-alcohol. I ordered the trout and waffles, unusual combination but surprisingly the flavors blend well together. Highly recommend stopping in for a good meal. Service was excellent as well. read more

The bison New York strip was, literally, the toughest cut of meat I've had. It had flavor and was cooked to order but was tough as shoe leather. It was topped with a cranberry sauce so heavy it leached all over the mixed vegetables and fried (subbed vs rice). All the food was delicious. Home made sauces and ranch really good. The only disappointment was in the jambalaya there was only one bit of sausage in the whole dish. Not enough to knock it down. If you arrive at the wrong time you are in for a bit of a wait. But since it's so restaurant remote in the area not much to pick from. Prices are standard tourism prices for the area. This was one of the last places we visited while in Glacier. Not much to pick from in the middle of nowhere. Service was slow but waitress warned us that the kitchen was backed up. Place was clean but certainly had some interesting things to look at on the walls. Food was average. Expensive but what isn't in Glacier. Certainly not a good price vs value place. read more

We came here after a long hike at Many Glacier. It was right on our way back to Saint Mary. We were seated right away and our food came out pretty quickly. We got the red burger and the grilled cheese. Both were quite tasty. The grilled cheese wasn't much food comparatively. We had to try some huckleberry dessert, so I got the huckleberry pb&j pie and also tried some of the huckleberry pie and the huckleberry cheesecake. The pb&j pie was definitely my favorite followed by the regular huckleberry pie. The desserts weren't cheap. All huckleberry desserts cost $8 for a side. Prices in general were a little steep, but about normal for the national park area. They don't do separate checks and they said no splitting either, but when we got to the register, they did let us put it on two different cards. There were lots of other things on the menu that looked good. I would recommend giving it a try. read more

This place is pretty pricey for your typical loca cafe/diner but it was pretty much the only restaurant open in St. Mary's. Paid $17 for a burger and fries which were pretty standard. The burger was topped with a "thousand island" type dressing, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and bacon. Was pretty impressed by the various options for desert, everything from milkshakes, to pie, to brownies and huckleberry ice cream! My friend and I chose the huckleberry pie and the lemon huckleberry bread pudding. Both were good, not amazing and not overly sweet. Easy place to stop after a hike at many glacier. read more

WOW, talk about creative cooking!! Very friendly staff, even the kitchen staff is fun with a mostly open concept. we had the bison bolognaise, great flavor and texture. Food was as expected, nothing was great but just ok, it was not bad. Service was 2 out 5 and we had to give a bad service an 18 percent tip. And then a 4 percent card charge. All in all, $50 went to nothing. Long wait, edgy grumpy service, and then they could not split a check and charge the tip on the bar drinks with another 4 percent on card use. I will not go back. A friend recommended Two Sisters and I'm so glad he did!!! Visiting GNP and had an amazing dinner!! They quoted a 25 min wait but it ended up being only about 10 minutes. The service was exceptional and friendly, and the food...WOW! One of the best meals we've had in a long time!!! We had a burger, the bison over egg noodles, and the chicken pot pie. All three were delicious and seasoned perfectly!!! I don't usually like restaurant pie, but the huckleberry pie was amazing. We came here at almost closing time after a nice day at Glacier National Park. The restaurant selections in the area are sparse and we were happy to find this place. The ambience was eclectic with the outside building painted purple and flamingos, cows, and skull heads hanging from the ceiling and license plates on the wall. It was an open kitchen with two women with bandanas cooking. We ordered the roasted half chicken over black beans and rice, mushroom ragout, Bahn mi, and a huckleberry shake and pie a'la mode. The presentation was nice. The food was okay. I didn't care for the Bahn mi. The sauce was overly sweet and there was too much of it on the meat. We enjoyed the huckleberry shake and pie though. Service was friendly which I appreciated. The highlight at the end of the day was seeing a bear cross the street as we were ready to leave the parking lot. I would stop here again and try some of their other entrees if we are ever in the area. read more

I stopped by Two Sisters in my way home from a long hike at Many Glacier - I'd seen it on my drive up in the morning, and two women working in a gift shop endorsed it. I didn't want to eat in the park. THRILLED that Two Sisters offers gluten-free buns, after a long hike I really wanted some fake bread instead of just a burger on lettuce. My cheeseburger was solid, classic "American," the fries were delicious, lunch came amazingly fast - very important after a long hike! - and my server was very attentive even though it was just me. The staff all were outgoing and nice; I came to expect that in Montana but don't want to take it for granted! I didn't have room for anything huckleberry afterwards, sadly, but I bet their shakes are delicious. Highly recommend for hungry folks in the area, especially the gluten-free kids! read more
