    Huckleberry Pie
    Rachel W.

Very average and a bit pricey. This might just be how it is in Montana, but there are lots of flies inside. Food was okay, but nothing special for what you're paying for. Their Huckleberry Pie was not for me, but their Huckleberry Ice Cream (not pictured) was better than the pie. Service is quick and friendly though! Conveniently located near Glacier NP so it's an easy stop to get food and then go into the park.

While staying near here we stopped for dinner. You order at the counter and pick it up there. We got chicken tender baskets with fries. It was a cute old time diner feel.

Huckleberry Pizza: Don't knock it till you try it! It was pretty good! When up in Northern Montana you have to lean into the huckleberries a bit and that's what we did. Huckleberry cream soda, huckleberry shake and huckleberry pizza. The service was so friendly and helpful. You can sit anywhere you want after ordering. The place is quaint and feels like a diner. It was a great way to mix up the amount of burgers we had on our trip. Would recommend stopping here!

Direct to the point Breakfast cafe before you head into the park. Straightforward menu for breakfast menu Fast service Ambience - typical rustic - my kind of place when I want to get away of city life.

The sign outside for Park Cafe and the can of sparkling huckleberry water

Looked up restaurants near our hotel and Park Cafe popped up! I saw they had huckleberry pizza and decided we had to try it. We ordered the huckleberry pizza with bacon and took off the chicken. I added the red chili flakes and wow! It was delicious. A sweet and spicy combo and savory with the bacon. The two workers were so friendly and helpful! I loved their shirts (they have them for sale) and the restaurant was very clean. We also got the huckleberry sparkling water which we really enjoyed. I do want to go back to try their pies - they make them there!

Huckleberry pie slice to go ($8)

We arrived after 5pm (dinnertime?) and were told the kitchen was closed because they were short staffed, but we could get dessert to go. Fine by us since we were primarily there for the huckleberry pie. We waited for a menu (yes, for a menu), and then waited a bit for our three pie slices. They also sell whole pies (equal to eight slices), but we didn't think we could scarf down a whole pie in one night. The filling was more of a solidified jam-y consistency sins whole huckleberries. The crust was pretty flaky. If you're a fruit pie purist, this is probably not going to do it for you.

    The "famous" huck pie

So Montana and the Glacier area is known for their Huckleberry products and everywhere you go, you cannot miss the signs for Huck pies. This was definitely a tourist trap and I felt we were swindled out of $10.50 for the saddest, microwaved huck pie slice that looked like someone slammed a book on it. Not to mention the a la carte ice cream that was gummy and icy at the same time, indicating it's been in the freezer for far too long. The poor waitress was friendly, so that salvaged this from being a 1 star experience. Bottom line, skip the Huck pies, another local ice cream place, Sweet Peaks, has a huckleberry flavor ice cream that was much better.

    Nice diner bar seating.

Get terrible food, overpay for it, and get treated as an inconvenience. Absent service. Unhygienic ambiance. Avoid if possible.

I was glad a fellow Yelper mentioned this place was next to the Exxon... definitely helped since there are a couple other bars nearby. The first night (yes, went here two nights in a row!) had salad and small pizza and my ds had wings. Second night they were slammed and decided to only serve pizza. The service was adequate... they brought us the food and drinks ordered. The pizzas are really good and hand made... we spoke with the woman who throws each pie dough by hand. Both pizzas over two nights were delicious. My salad was pretty good too since it was nice leafy greens lettuce (not iceberg). There are a couple of tvs showing the main sports of the day... in our case we watched a bit of FIFA football (soccer). The AC fan was blowing into the middle of the restaurant and couldn't get away from the cold air.

The restaurant stays busy -- there was a bit of a wait, but this is a busy national park, and anywhere you go at rush is going to have a wait. The servers were fantastic, and all helped each other out. The pizza was amazing. The dough is home-made every morning, and is neither too thin nor too thick. We got a half cheese, half ground beef 12" and it fed two hungry adults. I only wish we had tried this place before our last day! Note: this is not the same as the wood fire pizza building next door.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our guide on a boat tour at St. Mary Lake in Glacier…read moreNational Park. She made mention that it was locally owned, AND it was the only one of the 3 restaurants she named which was open before 4pm, which is when we were there, so we trekked on over. We arrived behind a large party of about 8 people and were the only other table in the restaurant. They - or should I say he - took our order quickly and were willing to accommodate a special request (to have a breakfast dish after their stated cutoff time due to a wheat allergy; almost everything on the lunch menu is breaded/fried, so I couldn't eat it). It was clearly Native-owned, which I was happy to support. However, the poor guy who took our order was the only one in the place. He was doing everything: stocking, cleaning, taking orders, cooking. We were there for nearly an hour when the other party's food came out. By this point, we had figured out that he was flying solo, so we were sort of hoping our food would come out at the same time. It didn't. We asked if ours had been started yet, and it hadn't. Seeing that we were staying 3 hours from the park, we had to leave to meet up with our family without having any lunch. This could easily have been avoided with a little communication from the get-go: "Hey, a large party just came in ahead of you. Just so you know, it's probably going to be an hour or more before you see any food." We would have left then and had time to get lunch before starting our drive back to Augusta. As it was, we paid for our 1 drink, made do with whatever snacks we had, and hit the road. Can't comment on the food and the guy was super nice, so I hate to leave a not-great review, but I can't imagine what would have happened if 2 or more of the parties from our boat ride had arrived at the same time we had. I think a little work on the staffing side would do wonders.

We've dinned here multiple times every time we go to Glacier National Park…read more Pros: - Great customer service - Their homemade bread and homemade ranch tastes amazing. Probably the best we've ever had - All the foods we've order tasted great (chicken, bison steak, ribeye, t-bone, crab meat) - All locally sourced foods - Nice Ambiance and love all the wood structures. Cons: - Not sure if I'd consider this a con, but everyone we've dinned here, something is always different (different salad toppings, different sautéed veggies). But I completely understand being it's in the middle of "no where." - Very pricey, but once again, they're not opened year round and it's all locally sourced. You would probably pay the same price in the city for high quality meat, but at least here you're helping a small community! - My only con- I prefer my steaks with no pink and well done (I know, I know). Cut into your steak as soon as you get if you're like me so you can see if they need to cook it more. You're steak will most likely be undercooked, but it's because they're THICK pieces of meat (which is a pro) We will be back the next time we're in Glacier ^_^ 2022- 2024

The bread was kind of bland, but fine with butter. It seemed denser than what I am used to. The baked potato on the side was amazing. The Calamari was prepared differently than what I'm used to, I wasn't as into it, but it tasted good. The fillet of tenderloin was by far the best of the 3 steaks. Much more tender and much better flavor. I highly recommend it. We got the Molten lava chocolate cake, and it was not as good. Seemed too doughy. Didn't really like it, also didn't like the cheesecake. Restrooms were stocked, but their soap was weak. The restrooms weren't very clean, and you had a lever to turn off and on the water to the urinal in the men's bathroom. Odd.
