This place has really gone down hill. Terrible service. Overpriced. Very Limited menu. I took 3 bites of my BLT- and had to stop there. It was $16 and arrived with old, overcooked bacon on garbage white bread, fried with so much butter It gave it an unpleasant taste. We stopped for a late lunch after visiting Glacier NP. They know you have very few food choices there so they can charge what they want. A cheeseburger combo (with fries and a non-refillable 24oz fountain drink) was $18! This is a very average-sized cheeseburger. It tasted fine, but nothing special. We ordered the fries extra crispy and I think they did their best to make them extra limp - not good. The picnic area outside was full of overgrown weeds and trash and the women's bathroom (in a detached, shabby building) was awful. The only great thing was the free wifi. Very average and a bit pricey. This might just be how it is in Montana, but there are lots of flies inside. Food was okay, but nothing special for what you're paying for. Huckleberry Pizza: Don't knock it till you try it! It was pretty good! When up in Northern Montana you have to lean into the huckleberries a bit and that's what we did. Huckleberry cream soda, huckleberry shake and huckleberry pizza. The service was so friendly and helpful. You can sit anywhere you want after ordering. The place is quaint and feels like a diner. I walked in hoping for a good experience but unfortunately they could not deliver. we ordered from AI menus (which I think is just lazy and sloppy) and I ordered a $7 sundae along with a $22 pizza. these prices are kinda insane to me considering I got one small scoop of ice cream for my "sundae" and they charge $3 extra to add another scoop. this means that to get an actual sundae that fits the cup they give you would actually cost $16. it's deceiving and dishonest. the pizza was pretty good and so was the ice cream but I can't justify spending $7 on a "sundae" when I could get a pint of the same thing 100 yards down the road for cheaper. the inside of the diner looks pretty nice but the outside looks very run down and janky but that's no big deal. Looked up restaurants near our hotel and Park Cafe popped up! I saw they had huckleberry pizza and decided we had to try it. We ordered the huckleberry pizza with bacon and took off the chicken. I added the red chili flakes and wow! It was delicious. A sweet and spicy combo and savory with the bacon. The two workers were so friendly and helpful! I loved their shirts (they have them for sale) and the restaurant was very clean. We also got the huckleberry sparkling water which we really enjoyed. We arrived after 5pm (dinnertime?) and were told the kitchen was closed because they were short staffed, but we could get dessert to go. Fine by us since we were primarily there for the huckleberry pie. We waited for a menu (yes, for a menu), and then waited a bit for our three pie slices. They also sell whole pies (equal to eight slices), but we didn't think we could scarf down a whole pie in one night. The filling was more of a solidified jam-y consistency sins whole huckleberries. Not to mention the a la carte ice cream that was gummy and icy at the same time, indicating it's been in the freezer for far too long. We came here for lunch reading the glowing yelp reviews. I guess everything is all relative? The place is busy, had about 15-20 min wait for a late lunch. All one guy does is take names, set up just cleaned tables and handle the register, and he does this pretty badly. I often see a 2-3 people line at the register to pay, while he ignore them (not even "I'll be there in a minute" as he passed them by). Waiters are sour pusses and hard to get their attention (even though we were sitting at the counters). The cooks were hard working though, we could see them from the kitchen opening that they were constantly moving and cooking. Food... meh about sums it up. We even ordered the "famous" pies (pecan and huckleberry-blueberry) and they're also just okay. Located only 5 minutes from the St. Mary Campground, this place is perfect for the lazy camper that doesn't want to cook dinner. We pulled up to the cafe and found tons of people waiting outside on the porch. For party of 2, the wait was around 40 minutes for dinner. We ordered the pork chops, which comes with a side order of homemade apple sauce, soup, ice cream. We also ordered the nachos grandes without pepper and sour cream. These two entrees were super filling and delicious so by the time the dessert came I was already stuffed. I read all the reviews raving about the Huckleberry pie, but I had to settle for some strawberry rhubarb pie. It was very tart and kind of average. On the other hand, the huckleberry ice cream was amazing. I've never had anything like it in California, so I wish I could have ordered more. read more

Over the July 4th weekend went to this place for dinner after a rather long day of hiking. We had tried the mexican place right next door and the cafe across the place, both of which seemed really nice. We ordered the two vegetarian burgers and the two nachos which seemed to be the only vegetarian items on the menu. 15 minutes after ordering we were told that they were out of nachos. At that hour, we couldn't go to an alternate place and ordered another two vegetarian burgers. The vegetarian burgers are supposed to come with chips, avocado and a sauce. When our burgers came out there was none of these and no cheese on them. We had to argue with the server to get basic things which constitute our order. We saw more than a couple of families waiting and leaving after 15 minutes or more. I would not recommend this place at all due to lack of customer appreciation especially with a lot of better options around. read more

This was a major highlight of our experience at Glacier National Park. I am shocked at some of the reviews below, as my best friend and I were treated (and fed) so well at Park Cafe before we ventured out on the trails. We were greeted by Ron (one of the managers? owners?) who chatted with us at length and was lovely! He asked us all about our road trip and we asked about his cafe. He informed us the cafe was under new management and had just retained a new chef. The place was spotless and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. Although, they all live in Montana, what's there to be surly about? We also got the full story on the region's claim to fame: wild huckleberries. Fascinating, not to mention delicious! Ambiance: Classic mountain town diner with red leather bar stools at the big linoleum counter and plenty of additional seating inside and out. The sun was shining, the waitstaff was bustling to oldies tunes and the smell of eggs, bacon and pie wafted from the kitchen. YES! They're motto says it all - "The Power of Pie". Service: Super friendly, personal and fast. Ron was more than willing to give us great recommendations on where to go and what to see in the park and the surrounding area. Great resource. I would definitely go drinking with these people. Food: The breakfast was great and the coffee was bottomless. Generous portions and delicious. But for sure the highlight was the huckleberry pie. By this point in the trip, I'd already sampled two other varieties and Park Cafe's was the best. Game. Set. Match! Pie.... it's what's for breakfast. Bathroom: They have a separate bathroom out back that they share with some of the surrounding buildings. It was clean and convenient. Highlights: - 10+ varieties of pie, homemade daily (so many amazing pies, so little time) - Friendly, personable staff - Fantastic breakfast standards - Bottomless Coffee - Outside Seating - They have their own "Power of Pie" t-shirts in the shop next door! We ate 5 meals here (3 dinners + 2 breakfasts). They have a system where one person is responsible for taking names, seating, clearing tables & taking payments. Then, 2-3 waiters have exclusive control over each assigned table. So if your waiter is busy or dumb, you're out of luck. But 3 out of our 5 visits, waiter was good & friendly. Getting seated is your biggest challenge, after that the waiters are usually ok. Be prepared to wait for the food, so best to know what u want as soon as u sit down. Waiters tend to disappear also. There are lots of workers, but it's difficult to get service. Disregarding the service, this was best food for the money in this side of the park; hence they stay busy. If you want good service & willing to pay a little more, go to Two Sisters, just up the road. read more

Four stars only because it was a very busy evening and they were understaffed. Food is absolutely delicious with generous servings. Service was friendly from the owner on down to the pie baker. (50 pies a day) We had the buffalo brats, with huckleberry mustard, which we split. We ordered an extra helping of veggies which came grilled. Huckleberry iced tea called for refills.
