This restaurant was recommended to us by our guide on a boat tour at St. Mary Lake in Glacier…read moreNational Park. She made mention that it was locally owned, AND it was the only one of the 3 restaurants she named which was open before 4pm, which is when we were there, so we trekked on over. We arrived behind a large party of about 8 people and were the only other table in the restaurant. They - or should I say he - took our order quickly and were willing to accommodate a special request (to have a breakfast dish after their stated cutoff time due to a wheat allergy; almost everything on the lunch menu is breaded/fried, so I couldn't eat it). It was clearly Native-owned, which I was happy to support. However, the poor guy who took our order was the only one in the place. He was doing everything: stocking, cleaning, taking orders, cooking. We were there for nearly an hour when the other party's food came out. By this point, we had figured out that he was flying solo, so we were sort of hoping our food would come out at the same time. It didn't. We asked if ours had been started yet, and it hadn't. Seeing that we were staying 3 hours from the park, we had to leave to meet up with our family without having any lunch. This could easily have been avoided with a little communication from the get-go: "Hey, a large party just came in ahead of you. Just so you know, it's probably going to be an hour or more before you see any food." We would have left then and had time to get lunch before starting our drive back to Augusta. As it was, we paid for our 1 drink, made do with whatever snacks we had, and hit the road. Can't comment on the food and the guy was super nice, so I hate to leave a not-great review, but I can't imagine what would have happened if 2 or more of the parties from our boat ride had arrived at the same time we had. I think a little work on the staffing side would do wonders.

I had to walked over to the counter and request a table for two. Found a table and waitress came over with menus and brought over water. We decided to order 7 wings which were good but not great, garden salad which was fresh however they were out of croutons and a small Waterton pizza. Tasty with thin crust. The waitress was not the friendliest. Everything we asked for was a problem.

I was disappointed in the food as the wings tasted like they were not made in house and only warmed up and put sauce over them. I felt as if I could have made that at home. The chicken pieces were very tiny in the salad. I'm not sure if they ran out of chicken but they brought over some other chicken to add to the salad that looking like a sad chicken tender. I would probably not go back for the food. There were 3 outdoor tables we could sit at with our dog. As for service: The woman at the counter was not friendly, so I was disappointed in the service. One of the girls who brought over the food was nice, but then we felt awkward with the other waitress who was chatting with the group sitting at the table next to us. My dog was disappointed that the waitress brought over some complimentary water and treats (chicken) for the other dog and not for her haha.

We've dinned here multiple times every time we go to Glacier National Park…read more Pros: - Great customer service - Their homemade bread and homemade ranch tastes amazing. Probably the best we've ever had - All the foods we've order tasted great (chicken, bison steak, ribeye, t-bone, crab meat) - All locally sourced foods - Nice Ambiance and love all the wood structures. Cons: - Not sure if I'd consider this a con, but everyone we've dinned here, something is always different (different salad toppings, different sautéed veggies). But I completely understand being it's in the middle of "no where." - Very pricey, but once again, they're not opened year round and it's all locally sourced. You would probably pay the same price in the city for high quality meat, but at least here you're helping a small community! - My only con- I prefer my steaks with no pink and well done (I know, I know). Cut into your steak as soon as you get if you're like me so you can see if they need to cook it more. You're steak will most likely be undercooked, but it's because they're THICK pieces of meat (which is a pro) We will be back the next time we're in Glacier ^_^ 2022- 2024

Our server Melissa was top notch, super friendly and helpful. Great service here…read more The steaks were cooked a little rarer than what I'm used to. But the flavor and tenderness was great. The bread was kind of bland, but fine with butter. It seemed denser than what I am used to. The baked potato on the side was amazing. The Calamari was prepared differently than what I'm used to, I wasn't as into it, but it tasted good. The fillet of tenderloin was by far the best of the 3 steaks. Much more tender and much better flavor. I highly recommend it. We got the Molten lava chocolate cake, and it was not as good. Seemed too doughy. Didn't really like it, also didn't like the cheesecake. Restrooms were stocked, but their soap was weak. The restrooms weren't very clean, and you had a lever to turn off and on the water to the urinal in the men's bathroom. Odd.

A plate of zesty buffalo wings so gloriously coated in fiery sauce, I swear they winked at me. Crisp, tangy, and unapologetically bold these wings don't just land on your palate, they do a mountain-state mosh pit in your mouth. Even the buffalo sauce is like Montana's own bold character: loud, refreshing, and strangely comforting just like that first gulp of crisp tangerine squeeze. Now, let's talk about Montana's bodacious ass because, come on, if the Big Sky State were a person, she'd be strutting into Jammer Joe's in cowboy boots, flipping her non existent hair, and demanding extra ranch. She saunters in, plants herself at one of those sturdy retro style tables, and gives the staff that look that says, "Honey, bring me wings worthy of this behind"and darn it if they didn't deliver.

The food is better than it ever has been and the service is exceptional. I'm glad to see how much care and intention is in the building!
