With the assistance of the yelp app, we called bars and restaurants sitting in the Denny's off of Woodridge drinking regular coffee. Finally, a lovely young lady picked up the phone, "Cooter Brown's." We had to take detours because the highways were closed too. I already mentioned Texas was closed. Mind you yelp said it had two reviews. I told him, "You know they are probably the owner's friends." The parking lot was empty in the front. How did the bartender get here? When we walked in to my surprise there were a handful of folks all playing darts. They have a back entrance and that's the door the regulars use. Beer only dive bar, doesn't usually suit my fancy, but this one did. They had plenty of Smirnoff in several flavors. We played few rounds of pool and enjoyed plenty of cool music from the jukebox. Everyone there was friendly, even the dude who caused a ruckus and was banned from ever going back during her shift. (Talkative on his way in, but didn't say anything to us on his way out.) There's also no A/C so I imagine it can get pretty toasty when it's hot outside. The walls are covered with flags of different colleges. He introduced himself and asked if it was my first time. There was a bit of a line at some points but it moved quickly. Food (N/A): While they don't serve food, they do allow you to bring food. There's a taco joint across the street and they have a menu at Rob Ray's. You can call in and pick up your order. Drinks (4/5): Now this is what we're here for! They have a nice selection of beers on tap and bottled beer. I'm all about the variety and trying new beers so that's what I did. Every single beer I tried was one I had never had before. They also have some seltzers. If you're looking for a deal, you can buy tokens at a flat rate. They also allow you to make donations with your purchase to firefighters, nurses, police officers, etc. which is a really nice touch. It makes giving back easy if you'd like to do so! I went with the bartender's choice mocktail, which was well crafted, while he ordered an espresso martini and enjoyed it. The drinks were reasonably priced, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the staff was welcoming despite us arriving so close to closing time. The space itself is cozy, with both indoor seating and an outdoor patio. Another plus is there's plenty of parking. Overall, a it's a solid neighborhood cocktail bar with a relaxed vibe. Our server was nice, but not very efficient. We had to ask for things multiple times before she brought it. For instance, instead of asking the entire table if we wanted water, she only brought out one water when I requested it (twice). Generally if one guest is asking for something like silverware or water, you would think the server would ask the rest of the party if they would also like the same request. We also had to ask for paper towels for our table. They had a summer drink menu on the table even though it was January. I asked the server if the bar was able to make the drinks and she said she wasn't sure but would check. I ordered some sort of cucumber cocktail and it was basically a vodka tonic. There was no cucumber in the drink anywhere, but at least it was a heavy pour. I also had a Deep Eddy Lime with Tonic. For apps, we had Fried Okra and Boudin Balls. The okra was good and it came with quite a few French fries as well as a side of ranch dressing. I don't eat Boudin often, but this one was good. For my entree, I had the Grilled Chicken Wrap and it was good. Bogie's is not fancy, but it's good enough given the lack of bars in Pearland.
