He was scheduled at 930am-didn't show til 1130 but no big deal. Spent 20 mins saying hello and chit chatting and looking around 10 minutes looking for his phone, 10 minutes explaining what he was doing 45 minutes talking to neighbors about sewer systems which I never asked him to do- 15 minutes moving van and lifting up steel plate well cover 10 minutes explaining what he was doing AGAIN 10 minutes out by the van doing paperwork 15 minutes sitting on the couch explaining the paperwork and that he was only charging for 4 hrs 5 minutes calling about thermocoupler which I never asked to do 10 minutes talking about sewer and septic which was not what he was hired for All in all-he got the job done which start to finish took an hour and 45 minutes and charged me for 4 hours ($635+$20 to use credit card) saying his knowledge is time and they don't give free estimates. Had I known I was being charged for all the time he spent chit chatting and talking to the neighbor and looking for his phone I would have told him shush and do the job. I WONT BE CALLING THEM AGAIN. I have several projects coming up and will be calling any one but them.

They said they'd have to find the parts for the showers and would get back to me with a quote. A week went by, and no call. I called them, they said they would get right on it and have the tech call me. A week later now still no call. I'll be calling someone else for this, and for my next issue should one arise. Being left on the hook is pretty unprofessional. If your business is too busy, or can not locate a certain part, and therefor cannot do the work, it's best to just say that. Now I've wasted time trying to give them the business and benefit of the doubt

Balanced Comfort Cooling & Heating - Parts were only $370 and the job took 30 minutes. For those of you wondering, that would be $3,822 an hour AFTER the cost of parts...

I had this company come out to fix an issue with my unit not generating heat. They didn't have the…read moreparts and said they were going to order them and the total cost was going to be $2,281. I found out all the parts required cost A TOTAL of $370 and took about 30 minutes to install. Before I went to install them myself, I found that the unit wouldn't turn on at all anymore and that the breaker had been removed and never replaced. When I put the breaker back, the unit turned on immediately and was extremely weak and flowed little to no air, which was not the original issue. This issue was never written up in the original report and the parts that were ordered would not solve this airflow issue in any way. according to other HVAC professionals. The fact that the breaker was left out tells me the technician realized that was the only way to get the unit to stop running. Obviously this new issue was created with whatever work had been done by the technician. (Mistakes happen, not upset about that) I called to see if they would come out to fix the problem they had caused at no charge and they said no. Not only is it outrageous to charge almost $2000 for 30 minutes of work but to not hold your company accountable to fix new issues that they have created is unacceptable. I was told the quote of $2,281 for the work and parts require was outrageous by an HVAC technician in the Bay Area, that should tell you something...

Balanced Comfort serviced a bathtub leak in December 2024 and charged me $600. We rarely use that…read moreshower or tub, so we believed the problem was fixed. Today, after using the bathtub to take a bath, the exact same ceiling leak reappeared in the same spot. I called Balanced Comfort for warranty service. The technician repeatedly insisted the leak was from the toilet, even though we stated clearly that the toilet was not used at all and the bathtub was the only fixture used. He refused to properly check the tub, suggested cutting into the sheetrock, and appeared to be looking for a different cause to avoid honoring their one-year warranty. When we asked him to leave, he kept insisting we sign an invoice even though no work was performed. This is very frustrating since we had to fix the ceiling from the water damage and now we have to get all the problem fix along with our damaged ceiling AGAIN!!!!
