After many requests, finally got an itemization: $139.00 hourly rate-$69.00 dispatch of company truck and a $5.99 FRT (Freight Charge???). "Technician" lied about time spent on the job and did not resolve the problem, but was assured he would come back with necessary equipment-never heard from the company again! Joe did a great job replacing our water heater. He patiently negotiated with the home warranty company on the phone until they agreed to cover the vast majority of the bill. He took a thorough look at the water heater surroundings and proposed some upgrades that he did along with replacing the heater. We felt that Joe was very passionate about his work, and was almost obsessed with making everything perfect. We saw in other reviews that this company is expensive, but in our case the reality is that their estimate was on par with another one we had. However unlike the other company, Joe came over right away, was ready to engage with the home warranty company, and really cared about giving us the best experience. We had an issue with our sprinkler valve box. There was a big leak and it was draining all the water in our storage tank. We talked to Oakhurst Plumbing at 7:45 AM. Dena did a wonderful job coordinating, and by 9:15 AM Joe was on site examining the issue. Joe provided excellent communication throughout the process and quickly got to work to solve the problem. He was very easy to work with, friendly, and professional, and he got the issue fixed and water back up and running in our home. Oakhurst plumbing came to fix my blocked sewer line. Dan and another nice young man labored hours working their snake through some root blockage. They were friendly, professional and hard working, and totally cleared my line. Well for the last 4 days we have waited for them to come and scope the plumbing for my house. When I first called they said they could do the job. So we waited for day one and no show and got a call at the very end of day. They said they were to busy to come on day 1. Day 2 NO CALL. Day 3 called at 4pm said will come tomorrow in the pm. They were supposed to call in the am to let me know when he would be here. Again NO call. We call in the late pm and she told us that they could NOT do the job now. We will NEVER use them or recommend them to ANYONE!!!!!! I would no even give them one star!!!!!!!! read more

Had a pipe burst in our main bathroom in the ceiling above the tub/shower. Our son was staying with friends in the home as we are not full time residents. Called a few plumbers without any success, while leaving a message with Oakhurst Plumbing. Monday morning they returned my call. Within 1 hour Scott was at the residence and assessed the problem. Within 2 hours he completed the repair, restarted the water heater and checked for leaks. Very, very professional. Scott explained each step to my son. He saved the broken manifold and showed my son the leak. Scott spoke with me and allowed me to pay over the phone. Scott was thorough and polite. Needless to say Oakhurst Plumbing has a new customer. Robert came to auger a toilet. It took 10 minutes using a hand tool you can buy for $60. He charged me $200. He tried to blame the toilet so I'd spend $500 on a toilet I didn't need. read more

Oakhurst Plumbing sent Joe to my rescue yesterday to replace a leaking hot water heater at my house in Bass Lake. I arrived to a house without hot water and Joe installed a new water heater, did everything he promised, educated me how to operate it and cleaned up more than his work area when he was done. Excellent customer service: even though I got bumped the first scheduled day, they were worth the wait. He came out with parts to fix the problem and got it done. We had hired another company previously to fix the same issue and they told us they'd buy the part and schedule to come back - we never heard from them. The tech did a great job of explaining so I would know exactly what was going on and what he did to fix it. They even went so far as to have me text them pictures of the unit before they came so they could be sure to have the right parts with them. Oakhurst plumbing was quick to respond but did not disclose the total amount needed to do the job. They did mention that there was a labor charge of $124 but failed to inform us about the additional charges seen below. Since we were in a rush to clear the drain we end up using them and service was complete. But not disclosing the total amount needed prior to arriving at the job was uncalled for. We are a large contractor serving the Central Valley and use these types of services all the time, we will not be using them again. Most plumbing services that provide the same drain cleaning run approximately $100 to $150 for the procedure. $253 was uncalled for for a job done in 40 minutes. Had an old faucet/spigot that got hit by a landscaper and water started shooting in the air. The spigot was old and was probably going to get knocked off sooner or later but we needed an emergency plumber. Called Oakhurst Plumbing and they (Daniel) installed a new bib and spigot and now my foundation will not be flooded with water any longer.
