J&C Fish Market in Elmont sold me rancid, rotten lump crabmeat! DO NOT BUY any seafood from them! I…read morereturned the rotten lump crabmeat with the receipt one day after purchasing because it smelled SOOO BAD, and was obviously UNEDIBLE. I have been a customer for 20+yrs, purchasing seafood at least once a month, and placing a Christmas Eve order every year for 20+yrs. When I returned the rotten crabmeat, I just wanted to exchange it for something else and I didn't even ask for a refund. J&C Fish Market in Elmont would not give me the credit to exchange it, even after knowing that I have been a loyal customer for over 20 yrs!! Unbelievable!! I've spent thousands of dollars over the course of 20+yrs at J&C Fish Market in Elmont. They do not appreciate loyal customers at all!! My family and neighbors would never spend another dime here again!!

Apparently this is a pretty common issue with mishandled lobster, it was a first for me. It was like eating lobster flavored toothpaste. My aunt went back to talk to management the next day; they took zero responsibility for their sub par product, offered not a single solution, and tried to shift the blame to her. Very disappointed. The sushi tastes extremely fresh, with clean, high-quality fish that doesn't have any off or overly "fishy" flavor. Everything feels carefully prepared, even in a more informal setting. The rice is well-seasoned and the rolls are balanced, not overloaded or messy. Even though the setup is simple, the quality of the food stands out. It's the kind of place you can quickly stop by and still feel like you're getting something made with real care and good ingredients. Definitely a solid choice if you want fresh sushi without the formal dining experience.

Lacked flavor and I'll compare this to Jordan's which is nothing even close to it . It has less class then but just not something I'd order ever again. The mussels in white wine sauce smelled really fishing themselves , the sauce at the bottom was not that bad and the fresh bread bailed it out for sure . It was a weirdly fishy smell but edible . Got the scallop tar tar . Very fresh , cold with some onions, tomatoes and cucumbers with a side of bread and blobs of sriracha sauces . We ate it , and it was fresh but they didn't season it at all and sriracha should not be what flavors it for sure . Would not order that again either We ordered the pasta special with scallops , shrimp , and lumps crab. Good fresh in tomato cream sauce . Lacked flavor once again the chef needs to kno his flavors and or have a better eye for seasoning tings!!!! We also got the seafood fra diavolo spicy . I got the wrong dish just shrimp in tomatoe sauce, wrong dish was delivered, they did take the charge if the bill which was nice . But I was looking forward to trying the scallops and the rest of the seafood and waitress did apologize and said it was her fault but such an easy thing to listen to your customers and submit on your iPad. Another mention is the owner and head sever lady seemed to be arguing behind us about the cooks in the kitchen about not being ready and prepared. Which is unprofessional o w talk in front of customers . Also one thing I forgot to put in is that when we asked for hot water at the end they brought us brown water that was most likely boiled in a coffee pot . How do you not see that the water is brown ??? Like really any pot can boil Water . I really wanted to like this place since Jordan's burned and was closed wanted to the this place but the minute Jordan's is back and open I'm heading back over there for my fresh lobsters and dining .

For appetizers, we got the raw oysters which were a 10/10, the clams oreganata, and the fried calamari. Not to mention we all got a cup of their outstanding lobster bisque to add to the gluttony. Everything we had was phenomenal. As an entrée, I had the house special panko breaded flounder with pesto laid on top of buttered up mashed potatoes with mussels placed beautifully around the dish 10/10 I would eat this once a week if I could. Desserts were pretty basic so we decided to skip Can easily recommend this spot to anyone who likes seafood. The crabcakes were very good. I won't give this a 5 star because the parking (during the summer) is horrendous.. (valet service is available and suggested). and the Clam Bar is quite small so the lines are "long" and there's limited seating. It's very informal and comfortable, whether you're coming off the beach or driving 1/2 hr. (as we did).. we last ate there a week after Labor Day, midweek, and it was a pleasure to just be able to walk in and order without the long wait.
