Service is Meh. No one acts like they are happy to see you. The lady that was working there only…read morecommented on how she hadn't clean tables yet. When we sat at a table she did her best not to grimace as she cleaned it. Food. I ordered the veggie wrap. It was filled with wet slimy veggies and oozed something. I think it was Italian dressing. Warm Italian dressing. I honestly thought this was a fresh veggie wrap. It was terrible. My friend ordered. The sandwich had as a side the garlic fries. The waitress presented the food and then a minute later said the cook forgot to toss it in the garlic. She took the plate to "toss" them in the garlic but the garlic and oil was just poured on top in one spot. Gross. They didn't eat the fries where the garlic was "deposited." The waitress did check on us and did refill our drinks but the grimace on her face never went away. There are so few restaurants in Cool. It would be nice if they were good with great food but this one is not. Not friendly either. Friendly goes a long way. It helps soften the blow of mediocre food.

If you are able to climb a few steps, then no problem but anyone in a wheelchair or unable to climb a few steps, will have to step out of the restaurant, walk several steps and enter through another door to access the bathrooms. The bar had a great selection of alcohol and they had some pretty good signature drinks. Since we arrived at 3:10, the indoor grill wasn't ready for grilling steaks (grill takes time to heat and would be ready at 4) but did inform us that they could cook any steak on a cast iron skillet. Our party opted for the lunch menu and one person chose her steak to be cooked on the cast iron skillet. I ordered a Smoked Old Fashioned and requested Whistle Pig Bourbon. My cocktail was delicious and prepared properly. My aunt ordered a Cadillac Margarita and said it was strong and delicious. She also ordered an Espresso Martini after dinner and it was equally as delicious. I ordered the Longhorn. This was a smoked tri-tip sandwich with sautéed mushrooms, onions and bell peppers and topped with melted American cheese and substituted onion rings rather than French fries. The bread was so soft and I could taste the smokiness from the tri-tip. All flavors were perfectly balanced and seasoned. I would definitely order this again. The onion rings were hand beer battered and fried to perfection. My friend ordered the Western Burger. The burger had 90% lean angus beef, pepper jack cheese, onion rings, sweet bbq sauce and came with a side, she opted for onion rings. She said the burger was delicious. We ordered the crème brûlée cheese cake. OMG!!! This was one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had!! Highly, highly recommend this dessert!! Our waiter, Jordan was attentive and accommodating. He provided great service. But one of favorite things, the restaurant had amazing paper napkins!! I know this seems trivial and crazy, but I dislike cheap napkins and the need to keep asking for additional napkins because they simply don't hold up. Overall, please support Stubby's, they're a local small business and have great food, cocktails and amazing service.

I dislike writing anything besides rave reviews, especially in small towns like ours where having…read moreany great restaurants is a treat, however, after the last 3 visits being sub par, I really can't help but add my experience. First, we loved this place when it was the original owners. It was always a 10/10 experience. However, since the new owners took over, it really has been a disappointing experience each time; we keep going back hopeful, but I think we've hit our limit. The positives: the menu is creative and has expanded, a great outdoor seating area with fun events throughout the week, and one of the employees (younger tall guy) is super helpful and friendly. The negatives: lacking attention to detail, customer awareness and warmth, and longer than normal wait times. Our last visit, we walked in and were hardly greeted though being the only ones there. We ordered appetizers and drinks. We finished our drinks well before our food came out, 45 minutes later. It took so long we went in to check to make sure they hadn't forgotten. The table next to us was also extremely perturbed because their food took 45+ minutes, for it not being busy. One of the guests asked why the hold up on food and the response was: "well it's Thursday after being closed for 3 days and we weren't as prepped as we thought; that's what happens in restaurants. You can take it to go." I also ordered their Macho Salad, which came without any dressing. Just lettuce and a few toppings. It's disappointing to spend a decent amount of money to have pretty poor experiences. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the pumpkin bread pudding with a peach cider. First the seasonal peach cider was really fresh and a great Sunday afternoon beverage. The biscuits and gravy were incredible. Full of flavor and the biscuits were perfect! The pumpkin bread pudding was amazing as well. Crispy edges with soft middle and a butter flavor. Outstanding. Dining was primarily outside and this place probably is great at sun down with the breeze. So glad we made it in and we will be back for sure.

These folk have the perfect thickness crust with the most savory and flavorful sauces you could ask for. The ingredients were perfectly spread through the pizza and chopped to perfect so it wasn't just chicken in one bite or just tomatoes in one bite you got the whole experience of the ingredients every single time. Not only were these pizzas tried and true, the ambiance of this beautiful RESTAURANT was everything you could ask for stopping in the middle of the beautiful hills of Auburn it was refreshingly cool, we're talkin t shirt jeans, t shirt shorts, hoodie and shorts, it doesn't matter it's a comfortable place. You had your option of round tables and high square tables that fit more than two people because how can you not bring everyone you know here. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by an amazing host who not only made sure we had everything we needed every 3 minutes but the pizza came out in record time. Not rushed, but so efficient in a way you can only ask to receive at fast food. You can tell whoever owns this business is PROUD and PASSIONATE, about what they do and it truly shows every step of the way. Not only will I be coming back but I will be shouting from the rooftops that this is the best pizza I have ever had, and I've had em all. It was the quality of a fancy wood fire pizza for cheaper than Papa John's. Papa John himself dreams of this pizza. Thank you so much American River Pizza & Grill for making the end of my motorcycle ride not just another ride but a memory for me to look back on. I hope that this message finds every reader well and I hope the owners and staff and their families are blessed with long, healthy, and happy lives.

The bone-in wings were a great deal and huge, however, I felt like the wing was mostly batter rather than chicken. That was pretty much the only downside. The burgers are 1/2 lb each and are hefty, filling, and come with a nice portion of crispy, salty fries. They were an excellent choice! We also got the sampler platter which had a nice variety. Nothing was overly greasy and the tenders had a good chicken to batter ratio. Inside is spacious with lots of seating. It gives the vibes of an after work hangout spot. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Whether you're stopping during a roadtrip or have a wedding to attend in Auburn, this place will keep your belly full!

The Baja Fish Taco came with breaded fish, shredded cabbage, and chipotle sauce in two corn tortillas. Fish was fresh and not fishy; had a nice crispy coating. Good ratio between the fish and tortilla. Chipotle sauce was mildly spicy; just enough kick. Sauce tasted like sun dried tomato with a little hint of tobacco sauce. The Mulita was good. It's basically a soft taco but the two corn tortillas were not folded in half. It's like a tortilla sandwich. The carne asada was very tasty; char grilled flavor. The seasonings blended really well with each other and almost tasted like meat braised in peppers, onions, and paprika. One downside, very oily. The Taco with Al Pastor meat had the citrusy sweet flavor of pineapple and spices. It had an orange sauce which was slightly spicy and tomatoey. Was also yummy. They have a huge menu with 15 meat choices to choose from. And despite offering a variety of dishes, they maintain both quality and yummy factor. Menu includes salad, breakfast and tortas. Fountain drinks, bottle drinks and horchatas for drinks. Free chips and salsa bar with at least 5 salsas to choose from: creamy jalapeno, habanero, 2 reds and a tomatillo. Big dining area. Nice friendly staff. Even though it's a sit yourself type of resto, the staff are going around to check on the diners if they need anything or to take empty plates away. Good deal for the price, portion, quality and yummy factor.
