Since they closed down I started coming to the Kendall location and have been ever since. I started off with a specific waxer that my aunt recommended me to. But recently she wasn't there to fulfill my appointment but the receptionist at the front comforted me and told me not to worry that she was going to recommend me someone and little did I think she was going to pare me with the best waxer in this center. Her name is Zaya, she made me feel so comfortable since the minute she introduced herself. Her charisma and vibe was out of this world. She makes sure that you are comfortable. Which is so important being that I get a Brazilian... I love that she makes sure to explain everything she is going before she does it. She's so knowledgeable about the products which btw I think I have the entire collection because she has me hooked on them. Plus the best part of it all is that their actually really amazing products and the results show but consistency is key to get the results. I have recommended several family members and there was only an instance that one of my family members was scheduled with Zaya but she had left early for personal reasons. We were attended by another waxer but nothing compared to the experience Zaya provides. The girls in the front always have a smile on their face and you feel welcomed when you come in till the minute you leave. I will continue to come here for years to come best experience and forgot to mention everything is clean and fresh. I get there right on time for my appointment yesterday (Tuesday) and couldn't figure out if I was in the right place so I called her. She sounds confused and surprised; when I explain who I am, she says, "Oh, I had you down for Wednesday. I'm not there right now." She was super apologetic though, said it had never happened before, she felt terrible for making me drive all the way there, she was going to give me a discount, etc. I looked at my calendar and told her I could get there by 5:30 the next day (today, Wednesday). She said she had someone else at that time, could I come at 6? I said sure, even better. Then she said wait no, 5:30 is good, or just come when you're done with your call and I'll wait for you. OK, cool. So I'm leaving my house at 5:30 today and decide to text her and let her know I'm on my way and will be there in 20 minutes. I've only gotten about a mile when she texts back and says she can't wait that long, she has to pick her daughter up at 6:30, sorry. But wait--didn't you tell me yesterday to come at 6 or whenever I was done?! Did you not know yesterday you had to pick up your kid at 6:30? And if you didn't, why not let me know when you found out today so I wouldn't have gotten in the car again? I'm just glad I thought to text on my way out today--if I had driven all the way there again and then had to come back in rush hour traffic AGAIN without having gotten done what I was going to do... I'm sure she's a very nice person and great at waxing, but I will never find out because I just can't keep wasting my time when she apparently can't keep track of her own schedule. I don't know if ownership changed somewhere along the way, but the quality has declined drastically over the last 8-9 years. I am a licensed massage therapist with nearly 20 years of experience, so I do know the difference between proper bodywork and poor technique. In the early years, this place was a great find and very convenient to where I live. But over time the staff changed, and with that, so did the quality. After several disappointing sessions, I stopped coming. Every now and then I would give it another chance, hoping to have an experience like before--and every time I left frustrated, with no relief, and upset that I wasted both my time and money. Last night was the confirmation that this establishment has lost my business forever. The therapist who worked on me clearly did not know what she was doing. Her nails were too long, her touch was rough, and she repeatedly left the room during the session for no apparent reason. She only worked one side of my upper body, and when I politely asked her to address the other side she insisted she already had. After voicing my concerns, the massage did not improve--in fact, it felt like she became irritated and intentionally applied pressure in a way that caused pain, not relief. I woke up feeling significantly worse than when I walked in. This was NOT normal post-deep tissue soreness. I am now having to get acupuncture to reduce the neck inflammation she caused by massaging toward the cervical spine rather than away from it, as well as inflammation in my forearms and hands due to improper directional technique. These are basic fundamentals that any trained massage therapist should know. It's possible there are competent therapists here--but after my experiences, along with my husband's and a close friend's negative experiences over the years, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone who actually understands or needs proper massage therapy. I'm not writing this to attack the business--this is constructive. If you want loyal, returning customers, then the therapists must be properly trained and evaluated. Not once in 13 years have I ever been asked about medical history, injuries, or allergies--basic questions expected in any professional massage setting to ensure client safety. I'm officially done with this establishment, and I hope this review encourages improvement for the sake of future clients.
