Liz did my makeup for my July 2019 wedding. I had never had my makeup done professionally and was hesitant about it at first. Liz made me feel comfortable and was very welcoming at my trial. When I saw my makeup after my trial I was nervous because I was not used to seeing myself with that level of makeup and debated if I would feel uncomfortable on my wedding day. Liz asked me to email her with any critiques or changes after the trial and I really feel like she totally listened to me and adjusted for my wedding day- trials make sense! On my wedding day I felt really beautiful and I feel like the lashes/ makeup look so good in my photos. I should start by saying the level of professionalism here is astounding. I came because a facial sounded nice and I'd never had one before. I left so much more knowledgeable about my face and in tune with my skin. Christina and I had a quick consultation about my skin care habits. Which, to my surprise, were not good at all! She explained the science behind drug store cleansers and showed me in all the ways I was actually dehydrating and damaging my skin! The facial itself was very relaxing. She explained step by step what she was doing and why. When it was done my face was visibly hydrated. A drastic change. A visible glow. She gave me some moisturizing samples and some sunscreen and a wealth of knowledge on their importance. The best part of the whole visit was the conversation though. Christina is extremely friendly and funny and as a guy I felt kind silly going in, but she made it easy. I wish I could give more stars. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a consultation. I've been seeing Liz Brown for years and followed her when she opened her business. She is absolutely fantastic at waxing and facials and I can always depend on her. I recently saw her sister, Cristina Brown, for waxing while Liz was out of town and she is excellent as well. I work nearby and even getting a brow wax on a break from work is rejuvenating for me at this place. The heated beds are magical to lay on! There aren't too many good skincare estheticians in Humboldt so I feel like this place is a Diamond in the rough! I came in yesterday for my first Brazilian. I was pretty anxious. Liz was really cool and gave me some comparisons so I could expect what the pain would be like. She was super professional and kept me distracted by asking me about myself and telling me a bit about herself. She was very personable and it was obvious she knew what she was doing.
