The staff was very kind and welcoming. The facility is beautiful and calming. However my experience with Dr. Bradshaw was a nightmare that continues to plague me nearly a year later. I've had one cavity my entire life, suddenly after going to Dr. Bradshaw I was told I had six. Not true. I also had a slightly chipped tooth that trapped food which at times was just uncomfortable, at most. He managed to make a mountain out of a molehill. Suddenly I needed a crowd that he said would become infected, painful and need to be removed entirely if I didn't hurry up and get it done (which would have been $500 out of pocket). I didn't know if I was at the dentist or part of an episode of Scared Straight. The most bothersome thing, however, is that I've always known I have extra teeth (hereditary) that are (or were) in my gums, only viewable by x-Ray. Every dentist I have ever had told me these will never come in because there isn't enough space and they're above my existing teeth. I told Dr. Bradshaw this before he even started working. During my cleaning & exam I complained multiple times to Dr. Bradshaw that he was being rough and his use of tools to pick at my teeth was incredibly painful. Yet, he kept yanking away. I was in so much pain afterward I had to place crushed Advil on my gums hours later. Fast forward a week and I notice something white poking through my gums inside my mouth up top. At first I thought it was food but became concerned as it got bigger and more painful. I WAS TEETHING! In my 28 years of existence I never had to worry about unseen extra teeth that dentists said would never come in. Suddenly a week after the most painful cleaning I've ever had, a tooth was growing near the roof of my mouth. Now about 10 months later, it's a full grown tooth that's still really painful. And I'm tasked with finding a new dentist that won't charge me an arm and a leg to have it extracted. So if you go to Dr. Bradshaw, you're likely to leave with more cavities, more teeth, more expenses and more headaches. read more

I came across this facility after doing tons of research on dentists in the DMV area. Being from out of town, I was looking for a quality dentist that I could establish long term care with. Yet, unfortunately, this facility failed to meet adequate standards of care and professionalism. In my initial appointment with dr. Bradshaw I addressed my migraine pain which he determined was caused by teeth that needed root canals. Two root canals and several follow up appointments later, I am still dealing with excruciating pain and migraines that keep me up at night regardless of pain meds. I have asked Dr. Bradshaw what is causing my pain and migraines but all he has done is prescribe meds and refer me out to a different dentist. This has led me to believe that they do not posses the specialization or experience necessary to treat patients with a broad range of dental issues. Another problem I encountered was the wait time. During my last appointment for a crown, I had to wait 3.5 hours to get a single crown done yet they did not hesitate to cancel my last appointment for being 20 minutes late even-though I had apologized and advised them before hand of my tardiness. I had also prepaid in advance for the procedure and was at their door yet they still refused to see me. I got the impression that they feel their time is more valuable than mine and do not value their patient relationships. I have now asked for a refund on the crown that I prepaid for but was never completed. When I asked for my money back the office manager said to me that "it was probably a good idea that I get a refund" implying that they did not want to treat me anyway. It's really unfortunate that they feel it's ok to treat patients in pain as expendable. I really wish I would've made the decision to go with another dentist sooner before having to deal with this distressing experience. read more

All of my life I have never had really great teeth, good but not great. Normally it was my back teeth that were the issue, but this incident was with my smile. One of my front four teeth cracked off. I was mortified. I live to smile and laugh, but now with most of a front tooth gone.... I just couldn't. On Monday I called Mint Dental after a quick Google search for dentists within a short drive. The receptionist that answered was extremely friendly and professional. She listened to my case fully and was able to get me squeezed into the schedule for the next morning bright and early. Upon arriving I was able to find 2 hour free parking rather easily. It's location is directly next to a bus stop as well. The building is well maintained and looks newly renovated. The modern styled waiting area has a nice little drink bar with the usual coffee, tea, and water options as well as a TV set playing the many options now available in modern dentistry. The receptionist was able to get me all checked in easily. She told me that because of the schedule I would have to wait. I did not mind waiting at all. I observed that everyone who had a non last minute appointment was being served very quickly. So I am sure when I schedule a regular appointment that will be the case. The procedure rooms were quite nice. I found it relaxing to hear songs that I know and love being played. Also I really enjoyed the large tinted windows. I was able to watch the city carrying on without me until I was greeted by the Dental Assistant, also very friendly and professional. You can tell by how everyone speaks that they all really enjoy working there and they all know what they are doing. Everyone's bedside manor was just astonishing. They walked me through every step of what they were doing as they were doing it and they were very clear in their instructions of what they needed from me. Especially Dr. Bradshaw. All I had to was raise my hand and he stopped the procedure quickly so we were able to make any adjustments to make me more comfortable. You can tell just by how he works that he really loves what he does and he also cares about everyone in his chair. Also the whole staff is very knowledgeable about the innovative technologies they have to offer. In my case it was really cool to watch as they used the 3D printer to create my new crowns and then installed them almost as easily as they printed them all in the same day. I am so very happy with my new teeth. They match the rest of my teeth in color perfectly and the natural look of my smile is still intact. I really cannot get over how pretty my smile is now. I've been going to Mint for a year. It has totally changed my opinion about going to the dentist. They put whatever artist you want to hear on Pandora, which certainly makes the experience more enjoyable. The hygienists are super friendly and go out of the way to make getting your teeth cleaned suck less. While the requirement of a new patient consult visit before your first cleaning isn't ideal, it's worth it for a good dentist. read more

Had an awesome experience at Mint. First off being seen on a Saturday is huge for me, as I work in Baltimore, and coming late/leaving early from work doesn't work well for me. I was seen by Oscar Cintron, who was very friendly and personable. He did an excellent job of explaining what he was doing and why. He also did a good job of giving me positive feed back and not focusing only on my dental issues. The office is new and very clean, even with snow and salt littering the sidewalks their floors are well kept. The dental chair I was in, was facing a one way window (mirror on the outside) that had a nice view. . . of 4th st? Well the liquor store looked nice in the sun light. They played music and asked what I would like to listen to. This led to a conversation about music, shows, and my job making speakers. I feel like this is a little gesture that goes a long way. All in all I never felt hustled by hidden fees or useless procedures. They were very down to earth and professional. I've been a client of Dr. Bradshaw of Mint Dental for a couple years now. To this date, I don't have any complaints on the services that he's provided. When i come in, i have tons of questions and Dr. Bradshaw gladly answers them, which is good because i am very particular and want to ensure i am receiving the best treatment and options applicable and available. Particularly, i had internal bleaching done to my teeth for a non vital tooth and so far so good! Things that aren't covered by insurance are a little expensive (i.e. root canal, crown), but i suppose that's to be expected. All in all, i've had pleasant experiences with the entire staff and I'd recommend Dr. Bradshaw as a go to dentist. read more

I was a new patient. After scheduling 6 month exam and cleaning (on one of my few days off) I was seen about 20 minutes late. I usually expect dental and physician's offices to run late, so that was not a huge deal to me, but when I was brought into the exam room, I waited again. Eventually the hygienist came in and did my x-rays. She left and I sat and waited. She eventually came back and sat in a chair in the same room and we seemed to be waiting for the dentist together. When the dentist did come in she looked at my teeth and talked to me about what kind of floss to use and about mouthwash, then she talked about how comprehensive their exams were. She stepped out shortly after that and then came back in to say that our time was technically up, however if her next appointment was late they would do my cleaning... That person did come in and I was asked to reschedule for another day. I don't expect a lot from the dentist, but I was very disappointed that the cleaning (the sole reason that I was there) was not done. I later found out that the next appointment would not be covered by my insurance since it was within the 6-month period. Very frustrating. read more

I needed a tooth extraction really bad for the past 2 weeks. some how or another i kept running into road blocks with other dentistry offices that i contacted. roadblocks such as did not accept cash or a much later date for their services. just by blessings while searching internet i ran across mint dentistry which was in walking distance from my house. i called them on a thursday and like magic they had an opening for friday other offices i contacted had days or weeks waits and when you have an infected painful tooth that is a fact you do not want to live with. i arrived the next day had a short paper work session with a very friendly and helpful staff then to dr. bradshaw just like terry. well sat in a chair he said a couple of funny relaxing things and bam tooth is out. so anybody that needs dental work go to mint dental i think that would be a good choice. on top of this no pain the next day just like nothing ever happened. thanks doc bradshaw read more

LOVE this place! Dr. Kassam is the best dentist I have came across in a long time! Her staff is super friendly and helpful. Dr. Kassam broke down my dental plan so i could understand it and was very upfront about all cost and time associated with it. Her staff was also super helpful with providing me with all my available resources to help cover payment of my treatment. All around solid place, and as a bonus they let you play your favorite Pandora station, which helps ease the fact you are actually at the dentist. I'm not sure if I was singled out but this place works like a used car lot. I went for my first appointment was told I needed a $40 bottle of mouthwash and prepaid more than $100 for what I was told was a special dental cleaning and I would have to reschedule. I came back and was told I would be meeting with a dental hygienist ( more like a cosmetic salesperson who scared me) and then told me I would need to get numbed and have two visits and the cleaning might cost me more than $200. When I asked the dentist Dr. Kassan why she didn't tell me I had such severe problems she just shrugged. Still waiting on my refund. read more

HI. I've called Mint Dental three times to ask for details about some charges made to my account, coded and not clearly specified. Also, they had charged $65 for a missed appointment even when they had informed me differently on the phone and I had read on the agreement that I signed in person that this penalty was supposed to be $55. Unfortunately, their computer system was down the day I called and they could not verify any of the information I was claiming for (...) They assured (in 2 different calls) they would call me back whenever they had the information... I'm still awaiting their call... Never again! read more

I highly recommend going elsewhere before trusting this practice with your dental health. Everyone was so nice and the office is beautiful but similar to other reviewers I was told I had a slew of cavities that needed to be filled right away. I immediately took the steps to fill 3 of the cavities identified. After the procedure I found that I could not floss without completely shredding the floss. I consulted 2 additional dentists who have both agreed the filling was done improperly and needs to be replaced. In addition, they explained that the other problem areas Mint identified are shadows that do not need to be filled at this time. I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere. read more

I initially gave the office 5 stars because the people there are incredibly nice and it is a lovely facility. But fast forward 11 months and the work that was done in late January 2016 still caused me a lot of pain, even after 4 adjustments. Two different dentists in the office told me to keep coming back and they would do as many adjustments as needed until I was comfortable - again, really nice staff. While this offer was appreciated, I got frustrated with the ongoing pain and switched to another dentist who was able to diagnose and fix the mistake in the previous dental work. My constant pain from the last year is now gone. Again, a nice group of people and great front desk staff ...but at the end of the day the care did not meet my needs. read more

Two issues with this practice: Diagnosis and Billing. Diagnosis: I went to see Dr. Bradshaw on July 7, 2014. He told me had FOURTEEN cavities. I was obviously skeptical so I went and got a second opinion with a friend of mine who is a dentist out in Woodbridge, VA. Sure enough, I only had four. Fast forward one year, I moved to Virginia and have a new dentist that I just went to this past week in McLean. She found one cavity, and no indication of the others that Dr. Bradshaw claimed I had. I just don't he can be trusted based on my experience. Billing: I'm under my husband's dental insurance and I gave them that information, but they kept trying to file the claim under my name. I got SIX notices from the insurance saying that the claim was being filed under my name and thus not found. Each time I took the notification into the office and asked them to rectify the issue. Each time they assured me they did, but their system has some sort of autofill feature that just kept making the same mistake over and over again. It wasn't until my husband went in and demanded that they print it out for his review and manually fax it that we finally got the situation resolved. Such a headache!!! read more

The place was beautiful and the doctors was knowledgeable. However, I was told after I had received treatment that my insurance was out of network and the monies that I had paid was not enough to cover the treatment cost. Now I am left with a bill, when I was told that I have paid everything that that I owe. I felt like they didn't tell me the whole story about my insurance so they could get my business. Every doctors office knows which insurance companies they are in net work with and the ones they are not. But they with held that information form me. So if you go to this place make sure they are IN NET WORK with your insurance company or you will get a bill after everything is said and done. read more

I needed a new dentist after deciding that traveling from DC to Fairfax was too far. I met Dr. Kassam and heard about her program for people without dental insurance. For an annual fee that costs less than two cleanings at my former dentist's office, you get two cleanings, x-rays and 30% off of the cost of other treatments. The offices are new and state of the art, digital x-rays that are shown to you on a screen in front of you as they are taken. Dr. Kassam takes the time to explain what is going on, actually taking pictures of the inside of your mouth to show you what she is seeing. She definitely cares about her patients. Front office staff are helpful and friendly. Great experience, and looking forward to seeing her for my dental needs long into the future. read more

Brought the whole family here for cleanings & exams. Everything went well! We saw Dr. Kassam and she wonderful with my two children (ages 2 & 5). We all received happy reports (no cavities), yay! I had a questionable spot but Dr Kassam advised me to rinse often with act restore and it should be fine. Needless to say I'm super happy! Dr. Kassam was friendly but thorough. I've seen both Dr. Bradshaw and Dr. Kassam, and I'm very happy with both of them; both are knowledgable, friendly and professional. Their dental hygienists and staff are also very friendly and down-to-earth. Their facilities are nice and modern, their pricing is reasonable and transparent, and they're usually able to fit me in in the late afternoon/early evening without too much of a wait.
