It's true what they say about getting to know your body and to listening to its needs. I truly had no idea how badly I needed a massage until I found Twisted Tree through Groupon. Matt has been a great communicator from start to finish with booking and available time slots. Especially since I'm a huge fan of communicating through email, it made the process even smoother for me. Key Tip when arriving for appointment: The space itself is rented through Wellspace on the 3rd floor so when you arrive it doesn't say "Twisted Tree Health" specifically since many different people rent their own space there. Matt was great about having a sit-down prior to see where my concerns were and if there was anything in particular that we could achieve from a first session. He took the time to make sure my upper body was focused on more with my desk job habits and lifting at the gym and draining out the lymphatic buildup and muscle tension. One of the things I appreciated most also was the build up of pressure to familiarize with his touch instead of just getting right into it like I've had with other massages from other places. He was great also about checking in to make sure the pressure was good and that I wasn't in pain in more "spicy" areas like my outer thighs from heavy lifting and running. I have chronic tension in my neck, shoulders, and jaw from my very high stress job and my routine workouts- between the two I manage to need regular deep massage every 2 weeks. Wow, I truly cannot say enough amazing things about Matthew! I was really nervous as I just moved here from CO, but Matthew makes you feel so comfortable. He is extremely knowledgeable and works on your mind as well as your body by helping you to rid your negative thoughts and look at things in a more positive light. I was effected by Covid pneumonia in 2021, intubated twice along with a tracheotomy. In total I was in a coma on life support for 23 days and in the hospital 36 days. I'm also a singer, and this has (what I thought) ruined my voice. Other therapists I've been to were very apprehensive and didn't have the knowledge to work around my vocal cords and voice box, but not Matthew! He has so much knowledge and dove right in!
