This is by far one of my favorite places in Longmont. The ice cream is absolutely delicious, and every visit is a wonderful experience. The owner is incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. She always takes the time to talk with customers and makes everyone feel special and appreciated. You can truly feel the care and passion that goes into this business. The shop is always clean, cozy, and inviting. The staff are friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there. Every flavor I have tried has been amazing, and the quality is consistently excellent. We were promptly greeted by a polite young man who explained how the per ounce pricing works. There were many choices of flavors and toppings. It is a clean shop with a small amount of seating. We noticed there were some games and playing cards, which implies that customers are encouraged to linger and enjoy with your family. Do NOT go here. This place is incredibly disappointing. It's run by teenagers who clearly have no concern for cleanliness or basic customer service. When we walked in, we weren't greeted or acknowledged at all. The place had a strange, unpleasant smell, and many of the yogurt flavors and toppings were either out or barely stocked. What little was available didn't taste fresh, and the overall quality was just bad. We paid nearly $20 for two small cups -- and ended up throwing most of it away because it was honestly gross. Great flavors and all the yummy toppings you could think of! A bit pricey but I feel like that's what you get with any froyo place nowadays. It's definitely a treat: I went for my birthday and that's why my yogurt is so piled high! Well nothing like letting a couple of teenagers run a business right? Came in on Saturday night and no one was at the counter. The other patrons joked about it. When the teenage boy finally came out he was dressed like he was in his bedroom complete with teenage attitude and all. No hello. Just raised his eyebrows a bit. I wasn't offered anything on the menu that I saw online. I was only offered an option to go to the self-service machines for yogurt. The yogurt itself was slimy and wet. The fruit toppings whipped cream and all that stuff was completely scarce. The yogurt from the machine was definitely off. This is hands down the worst yogurt place I've ever visited and I've been to many at bigger cities. It just tasted off and it tasted bad. I've been here quite a few times, and have been really pleased with the sweet treats each time, especially since I discovered the smoothie bowls! They are a delicious multi-layer mixture with a variety of textures and flavours and make a satisfying almost-meal if you get one with nuts or other protein. Very filling. It makes me very happy that this place offers gluten-free and dairy-free options for the fro-yo, milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, and smoothie bowls. It's rare to find an ice cream place that actually offers dairy-free ice cream (rather than just sorbet), and what they have here is very tasty. Many of the options also seem much healthier/higher quality than at your average sweet shop, though they also have classic things like gummi worms, MnMs, hot fudge sauce, and animal cookies to add to your fro-yo. The gluten-free granola is from a well-known brand, so no worries about what's in it. My experiences with the staff have been consistently very pleasant, too. My only complaint is that I think I was accidentally given gluten granola once in my smoothie bowl, but it was clearly a mistake and hasn't happened again. I will most certainly be back! P.S. The yogurt is icy not creamy. The flavors are pretty good, but I didn't come for gelato. I came for yogurt. I did not get the creamy smooth taste I came for. Maybe I am spoiled, but Yogurtland is far superior to this place and way more affordable. They charge $8 a bowl for a very medium amount. The one thing they have going for them is that they are the only yogurt place in Longmont. At least the staff was polite and the place was clean. While we really enjoy the product at Twisted Roots, we had a bad experience this past weekend. The young lady serving Sunday afternoon appeared to be having a bad day, we had not seen her before and she was not as friendly and engaging as other employees that have served us there prior. The real problem was that we gave her 3 orders for the fruit bowls and she got all 3 wrong. We specifically wrote down on the order form what we wanted and each order had something wrong with it. As an aside, the garbage can outside the establishment is often beyond full and overflowing with trash, an indication that business appears to be doing well, however, the trash is not being changed out often enough. read more

This is really the only fro-yo place me and my friends and girlfriend will go to. Staff really friendly, they offer cards you can get stamped and when they're full you can get a freebie, they change out the flavors frequently and always have a surprise flavor. I would go here every single day except it adds up pricewise! That said, if you just feel like a "taste" you can do that too - like a finger of froyo if that's your pleasure. I am sorry I miss Menchie's! And this is the only game in town since TCBY closed. I loved their flavors. Every time I have been in here since they opened I am disappointed by the available flavors. I love fruit yoghurt without toppings - just the yoghurt, please! But they have very few sometimes no fruit flavors at all. They save that for the sorbet but I am here for yoghurt. There is Lots of chocolate, dolce de lache and today there were two different banana flavors, strawberry banana and coconut banana and I do not care for banana. They had a berry sorbet for the vegans that was ok and a carmelized pineapple sorbet that was just inedible - tasted burnt. They never seem to have original tart either. How about plain old strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, apple, mango, apricot, pomegranate, lime, lemon, orange, peach, pear some time? I asked the owner about it a month ago and she said they had holiday flavors then chocolate for v day and maybe fruit in the spring. Sorry can't wait that long. read more
