Ok, enough of my confessions. I love this place for getting unique home decor. There's a high inventory turnover so there's always something new and decently discounted. They're definitely not the cheapest path for home decor but they do provide the most variety. There's 4 locations that I'm aware of and have visited in Calgary but this one is my favourite for having the right combination of size, merchandise and proximity to Market Mall without the crazy mall crowd. There are times when the lines can be too long and the return policy window too short but I've also never had problems with staff in any Homesense location so +1 for customer service

The store was very messy (perhaps because of the Christmas rush) and there was only one salesperson trying to assist several customers at the same time. I waited for 20 minutes, and when she finally came over to help me, she was very rude and tried to pressure me to purchase the most expensive duvet in the store. I elected to buy a "3 in 1" wool duvet instead, and I could tell that my decision irritated her - perhaps she was disappointed because the commission would not be as high? The duvet itself is clearly of an inferior quality (almost all of the products in this store are made in China). It has a terrible smell and fell apart after one cycle (gentle) in the washing machine. A major reason I purchased this particular duvet was because it was supposedly "Machine Washable". When I called the store to inquire about a repair/exchange/refund for the duvet, I was curtly informed that all duvet products are "Final Sale". The salesperson also stated in a very condescending manner that I had "obviously" washed the duvet incorrectly and thus caused it to fall apart. I tried to move up the ladder and speak to the division manager, but he was also incredibly rude and seemed more concerned about defending the duvet than providing customer service. I am 60+ years old, and he spoke to me like a child. All in all, my experience with both the duvet itself and the customer service at this store was horrendous. My only recommendation is to stay far, far away!!

Unfortunately, the duvet turned out to be significantly warmer than described, making it uncomfortable for my needs. Despite the "final sale" policy, I reached out to customer service after reading on their website that customers are encouraged to contact the team if a product doesn't meet expectations after the first night. I submitted a polite request for a refund or store credit, clearly explaining my situation. What followed was a frustrating and unprofessional customer service experience. My first email was completely ignored. I had to follow up, and only then did I receive a vague response saying my case had been forwarded to Fulfillment and that I would receive a reply within 24 hours. That follow-up never came. To make matters worse, I returned the item using their own prepaid Canada Post return label, and more than seven days later, the parcel still hasn't been scanned or tracked by Canada Post. I contacted Canada Post directly, and their representative told me the sender (QE Home) should be the one to file a claim--not me. Yet QE Home has taken no initiative to help resolve the issue or even check on their end. It's also worth pointing out the contradiction between what QE Home promotes and what they actually use: while their website advertises a different shipping provider, they still rely on Canada Post for returns, which clearly isn't working smoothly. That inconsistency and lack of accountability are not only confusing but reflect poor business practices. As it stands, I've returned the product, received no resolution, and am dealing with a potentially lost parcel--with zero meaningful support from QE Home.
