The store manager Junior is the rudest and most aggressive person I have ever met. I use a reusable shopping bag at every store (HEB, Target, etc) and will often put my items in it while shopping as I don't like having to push a shopping cart when I am not buying a lot of items. I have done this dozens of times at this location as well and never had an issue. Today while shopping, I did as I usually do as I was grabbing a few different things. Rather than approaching me in a polite manner, he aggressively came up to me and told me to empty my bag and leave the store. When I told him I was just shopping, that I do this every time I come here and that an employee who is here nearly every time I shop has never done what he did, he stated he "doesn't care" and continued to berate me. He forced me to grab a shopping cart because he seemed convinced that I was stealing. I put the cart back, paid for the one bottle I had already picked out rather than continuing to look for the other few items I wanted, and requested to speak to someone above him to report his behavior and approach. While I was asking the cashier if there was anyone else I could speak to, he came back to berate me more and spoke in the most condescending tone I have ever been met with. He refused to provide me a phone number or contact person and told me to Google the corporate number. He also tried to force me to take his business card as if I would somehow be able to report him to himself? He is not fit to be a manager if that is how he handles situations. I offered feedback as someone who has been in retail management myself for 5+ years and worked in customer service since I was a teenager, stating he could have approached me in a more professional manner and the interaction, in my opinion, would have gone completely different. He could have just as easily said "Im sorry, we don't allow customers to carry items in their bags while shopping" or something similar - it's not hard to be professional and still get your point across. To automatically assume/accuse someone of stealing is unprofessional and completely outrageous. To refuse to provide contact information for a superior, such as an owner or district manager, makes it clear that he was trying to prevent me from reporting this behavior. This man has no business in a customer-facing position and should be retrained immediately. read more
