I recently fell upon Art of Inner Peace (I've noticed the best spiritual shops have found ME versus the other way around) and am absolutely in love. San Clemente is known as the darling, relaxing, sparkling blue water beach town in between Los Angeles and San Diego on the Southern California map and is my personal requirement to visit whenever going between the two cities. This was precisely the case when I left LA to spend my birthday weekend in San Diego. Avenida def Mar, the main touristry strip that houses shops, eateries, boutiques, the post office and businesses; never fails to draw me in with its perfectly Cali surf vibe. While perusing the sidewalk, a quick sideways glance revealed, "Crystals!" (I shouted this); and I ran into Art of Inner Peace so fast that I probably left a trail of smoke behind me like in Looney Tunes cartoons. Upon entering, my eyes feasted on an array of crystals/rocks/gems, colorful textiles, shiny sound bath bowls, jewelry, wands, sage bundles, meditation supplies; while the scent of incense permeated my nose and amazing energies seeped into my pores from every direction. Art of Inner Peace is stunning with a selection that makes the store feel like an entire experience versus just a spot to shop. I could have spent hours looking at everything! Whatever your spiritual needs: you will find it at Art of Inner Peace. Art of Inner Peace is amazing as is just to browse; but honey: it gets even better! Whomever is their buyer knows their stuff AND they must have the most amazing suppliers! All of the pieces are both stunning on the eyes and of the utmost quality. One would therefore expect Art of Inner Peace to be off the charts in price point but NO! The prices on the crystals are incredibly affordable and basically a steal for the quality. Art of Inner Peace does NOT scam over customers! LOVE THIS PLACE! I selected a beautiful druzy amethyst crystal alongside an adjustable costume-vintage style ring ($10) and expected a simple check out experience but even this was stupendous at Art of Inner Peace. The female associate was so welcoming and instantly commented on my own energy and vibes. She (wish I caugfht her name) made me feel like I was a celebrity in her store and that she was being gifted by MY visit! And this wasn't some grifting act either - this was genuine. It is an absolutely pleasure to patron such an establishment where the business is truly thankful for their customers. Art of Inner Peace is perfect on all counts: the selection, ambiance, prices and customer service. This is a store that others should use a template for their own business plan. She has excellent customer service and communicates very well. I really love her hand-rolled candles. Let me tell you, I bought one of the do it at home candle kits, and they were a lot of fun to make with my kids, but the quality and perfection of Susan's rolled candles cannot be matched! She always makes them to my exact specifications as to size and height and as always they come out beautifully! I also recently had her make me a few of her votives--that frog on a tree stump one and some roses. I can't believe these are not done by a machine because they are so perfect! They were meant to be a gift for my mother but I just couldn't part with the little froggie; he was soooo cute! Any of the products from Toadily Handmade make lovely gifts and I can always see in the products themselves that they were crafted with great love and care. I went inside and asked about the price and, most importantly, whether it was authentic. The woman helping me specifically told me that this bathing suit was authentic. She even mentioned that they had another one that was not authentic, which gave me even more reason to trust what she was telling me. The price was $250, but because it was the one displayed on the mannequin, she offered it to me for $200. The store was very busy at the time. I looked at the bathing suit quickly to make sure it looked like it would fit, but I didn't examine all of the details as closely as I should have. I took her word for it because she had clearly assured me it was authentic. She removed it from the mannequin, placed it in a bag, and I checked out. When I got home and had the opportunity to really look at it, I was extremely disappointed. I own an authentic Louis Vuitton bathing suit that I purchased directly from Louis Vuitton, and the difference in quality and construction was immediately apparent. This bathing suit is very poorly made and does not appear to be an authentic Louis Vuitton product. The $200 itself isn't the main issue. The issue is that I would never have purchased this bathing suit had I been told it was not authentic. For the quality of what I received, I wouldn't have paid even a fraction of that amount. Unfortunately, I didn't get the woman's name, but I'm extremely disappointed. When a business specifically represents an item as authentic, customers should be able to trust that representation. I left feeling misled and taken advantage of, and unfortunately I would not feel comfortable purchasing designer merchandise from this store again.
