It has been some years since I have shopped here and this is why. I want to like this shop as it's the closest to my house. But every time I stop in to make a purchase the owner is so cranky and rude. She is not cheerful, does not particularly seem eager or happy to have your patronage and not at all personable. When in conversation with another customer, I mentioned that I recently retired after many years as a professional seamstress in the theater community and at The Minnesota Opera. The owner said loudly that she hated opera! Was that necessary? To hate what I did for ten years? She was extremely dismissive and went on to correct me in front of this other customer, which came off to me as highly arrogant, pretty hostile and demeaning. read more

I really want to love this store. They have gorgeous modern fabrics, a huge supply of canvas and bag making supplies and it's a great location. The problem is the owner. She is super negative. Complains about her staff, her competitors, other customers, and is often quite rude. I stoped shopping there when they were near Como... because of how rude she was to a friend I was with. Years later I found, and loved the new place. But the last 3 times I've gone in she's just been a cranky complainer. It's really unprofessional and quite unpleasant. So sad. read more

Finally went to see the new location in New Brighton. Definitely better digs than the previous location. Inventory is spread out and lighting has improved. If you are a modern quilter who likes strong deep colors and artsy novelty prints, this is the place for you. You won't find cheerful Bonnie & Camille or Tula Pink fabric bundles (at least I didn't see any). They also are expanding their wool collection. The employee who helped me was nice enough. There are some drawbacks, however. Other than some bundles, there is no big collection of fat quarter precuts that you can select from. No jelly rolls, layer cakes or wide variety of patterns. Only a few kits. The biggest disappointment for me was their yardage prices. $12.49 a yard for your basic quilter cotton print (that is the lowest I found). Not sure why so pricey - one can only assume the hike is to help pay for the new location costs. Other quilt shops in Anoka and White Bear Lake charge on average around $10-11 yard. While I really want to support local quilt shops, unfortunately the lack of variety and these prices will keep me away. read more

Awesome store with great employees! I recently took a couple classes here and found the owner and team members very helpful. First I have to say that Faye, the owner, is the best. She always greets her customers and make us feel like part of the family. Whether she was helping me with my first project or picking fabrics for a future project she is always willing to listen and help coordinate colors in wonderful playful way. As for the classes taught here, well Rose is an incredible asset to this store. Her patience in teaching makes the learning experience pleasurable. A great balance of doing mix with some brief explanations on what she is teaching. I find myself looking forward to what other learning opportunities can be found at this store. Finally I can't say enough about the selection of fabrics! It feels like every week something new appears. The cost of fabrics here are reasonable compared to other shops in the area. They have fun fabrics that should meet most people tastes. I strongly recommend coming and checking out this gem of a store! Cheers read more

I was never at the previous location but THIS is my go-to Twin Cities shop for quality fabrics, great selection and terrific service. A bit of a drive from Eden Prairie but totally worth it. I visited twin cities quilting yesterday. It is a very small, unique shop. I found some fabric & spent 75.00. I know this fabric is available online, but I worry about smaller shops surviving during Covid. I made the 40 minute drive over from Plymouth. As my fabric was being cut asked if I could use the restroom. No!!!! not available due to Covid! You own a business, people usually spend some time in your shop. If you are going to lock your front door & make people wait outside until you arrive with a bottle of hand sanitizer, please put up a sign that says no public restroom available. Thank you for informing me that I could use the restroom at Subway, not that I would ever eat there, I certainly wouldn't pop in just to use the restroom either. This is my go-to quilting shop. Faye and her team are so knowledgeable and willing to make suggestions when I bring half finished projects in. They have spent hours of time in a row helping me select fabrics and making suggestions and offering encouraging words while I have been learning different/new skills. I have been a customer of this shop since it opened several years ago. It is definitely not your average quilt shop. The fabrics are modern and in addition to quilting cotton they carry canvas weight fabric and some knits. Faye must carry every color and type of grunge there is. Great selection of batiks too. The layout of the store is organized and very thoughtful. I now live in the Pacific Northwest but still shop in this store because I can't find another shop like it. I travel 30 minutes to this shop for the awesome collection of fabrics. Big selection of grunge, heavy weights knit and unique and fun contemporary fabrics.two. Quilts on display along with kits. I never walk out with of a beautiful yard or two. They also do long arming. read more

If you are looking for something not a lot of places carry, this is the spot. While they do not have much, they do have the different. They create and sell their own patterns that are unique and showcase the fabric, but they tend to forget things like finished size and amount of fabric needed for the back on the patterns, so you have to do some math. read more

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to learn how to quilt. My family gave me a gift certificate for this shop as a Christmas present a few years back. I signed up for a class for beginners that was set to start a few months later. Shortly therafter I was diagnosed with cancer, and due to neuropathy in my hands along with general ill health, it became clear that taking the class would not be feasible. I called the owner, Faye, to see if I could reschedule for a future class. She was not polite or even remotely understanding, scolded me as if I were a child and made the whole thing seem like a huge bother. It was certainly not my intention to inconvenience her, the class or the instructor, but some things cannot be helped. After that, whether I was physically able to or not, I really did not want to give her my business, so I thought about giving the gift card to a friend, so at least someone could benefit from this. I called her once again and asked if that would be possible. She first said that no one had ever asked her anything like that, and then abruptly refused. After two run-ins, I will never set foot in that shop ever again, but what really makes me furious is that my family basically gave this woman $150 for NOTHING. I'm sure that Faye has many fine qualities and is much loved by others, but to me she showed nothing more than rudeness, a complete lack of compassion, and rigid selfishness. i enjoyed a visit to this small but well organized quilt shop. It was fun to be able to admire fully completed quilts of beautiful quality hanging on the walls. Service was friendly and helpful and she even suggested other quilt shops in the area that I might want to explore. This shop features contemporary/modern quilt designs, patterns and fabric. This shop has a nice selection of fabric but you will not have a nice experience if you are there on a day when the owner is in a snit of some sort. She's been very nice and helpful to me and on other occasions she has been downright rude. She is not a good ambassador for her shop. Thank goodness she has other women working there who are very nice and try to explain her rudeness. I will first look to other shops for fabric and come there only when I really need something. read more
