Lots of little photo opportunities and a bar, which was thoroughly decorated and was playing classic horror movies! Although the wait to get in was a little longer than expected, the actual experience itself was fun! It was kind of a maze, but nothing too challenging. The staging in each room was really good--a lot better than expected! There were jump scares throughout and a cute photo opportunity at the very end. My biggest gripe with this experience is that it was a little short, especially compared to how long we had to wait to get in.

My tickets were for 8, but I didn't get to go in until 9 because the line was slow. We did get to see two showings of an aerialist in line, which did help make it a bit more bearable. However, you figure out that the line is so slow because they do a good job of keeping each group small and spaced out, allowing you to enjoy the haunted house at your own pace. The house was actually a well decorated maze, so it was a puzzle trying to figure out where to go. The actors cannot touch you, but there was a good amount of jump scares. We ended up taking 20-25 minutes to go through the maze. There were also a couple photo opportunities inside. We exited into a gift shop and went to the bar which had a drag show (i think this was a special and isn't a regular occurrence, so it was a nice surprise). i also love that there were lots of photo ops outside. I didn't pay for my tickets and $40 sounds a little steep but it was fun, and I'm seeing some discounts available for specific dates and MEA weekend, so I would say it's worth it if you find a discount day!

I've been a scare actor for over ten years, so nothing much "gets me" nowadays in terms of "being…read morescared." But I still love attending haunted houses to see all the cool props and decor and such! I'd heard from friends that Dead End Hayride was one of the better attractions in the Twin Cities area, so I snagged a ticket during one of their few available weekdays (can't go on weekends because I'm literally working at Valleyfair doing the same thing, lol). The weekday pricing was pretty reasonable too. I'd also attended their day-time operations, Pinehaven Farms, earlier in the day. It was a simple process to exit, walk around to the queue, and re-enter for the evening's experience. (I also recommend this because it meant I had a very close parking spot in the third row of the lot; I didn't have to fight for parking or walk a long ways to the entrance because I attended both day-op and night-op.) I was admittedly a little disappointed to discover that the Great Pumpkin Trail was a separate experience requiring a ticket purchase (which was indicated nowhere on the online ticket purchasing site), as I'd been looking forward to it. If I'd known, I would've gotten a ticket ahead of time. Instead I missed out. I guess I'll just have to come back and see it next year? It was quickly evident to me that this place is popular, because A LOT of people were entering the park. I bee-lined to the Dead End Hayride entrance/queue line; a lot of other people were grabbing food or snacks and waiting for it to get a little darker before they began, and I gotta say I made the right decision. I really only was in line for maybe fifteen minutes total, but I could see from the size of the queue line that it probably gets A LOT more crowded, causing a much longer line. I was happy to be done with the full experience and leaving for home by 830pm. I hadn't even realized that the way this place does it is to put you on a tractor pull and cart you way out to where you then have to walk back through the two long mazes. This was such a unique and cool way to do it, imo! And as I've said, I've been in the business for over a decade. Both mazes were really long and morphed into different themes as you went along. Because they were so long, it was way more immersive than other haunted places I've been. You got to go in and stay in it. I also have a tendency to walk slow so I can really take it all in and admire the work put in, and I gotta say, they put a lot of work in! They also seemed to have a good number of scare actors in each area. This place allows the monsters to touch you, which I did feel many of them relied on as a crutch for attempting to get scares. Ironically, because I was by myself, a lot of them went for me thinking I'd be an easy target, having zero clue I do what they do for a living... oops. Between the hayride and each maze was a "checkpoint" with port-a-potties if you needed them, which was nice. I definitely took advantage. My only frustrations were: 1) the staff was obsessed with checking my Hydroflask. I was stopped multiple times to open it and have them stick their nose in it. I get that they're being careful to ensure people aren't bringing in alcohol (even though they literally sell alcohol there), but jeez, you'd think it was a crime to want to be hydrated. And 2) the two mile dirt road leading to the parking lot really needs to be paved. I was driving out carefully in the dark and had multiple other drivers decide to aggressively pass me.

Last time I came here I got the VIP fast pass but we figured we might as well use the deal. It took 45 minutes to get on the hayride but it takes about about an hour to an hour and a half to go through the whole attraction! I enjoyed the hayride then getting the chance to walk through the haunted houses! It's a fun time for a date night or for the family. I wouldn't advise for little kids since it does get pretty scary. I am rating a 4/5 since I wish they had smaller groups go through at a time to help with the jump scares and such but overall good attraction! Plus afterwards you have opportunity to visit some food trucks and get a drink!

The actor let them through. Which made me think that I should so that too. Next year for sure. If scream town doesn't tolerate people hurting their actors and actresses then they can tolerate letting groups saying we didn't know this was VIP. I guess we should say that and not buy VIP. Plus the VIP attractions wasn't that great. When my group and went to the alien for VIP this group was not VIP and no error on their stamp. They just played it off saying "well they let us in at the other VIP". I was like shit if I don't have to pay I for vIP I don't need to do that next year. But that attraction was a fail too. Hype itup that you may get scared and these actors will touch and chase you. But to come out with no actors scarring you like they say. Umm a bit sad. A person fm my group mention this issue too ad scream town came back with excuses and not apologetic. I see how scream town is. Every year we try to support this place but I don't think there will be a next year. Even though the hayride attraction was the best part.

More Than Just a Haunted Attraction -- A Business With HEART!…read more I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Scream Town and The Abandoned Hayride. If you're debating whether to go, LET THIS BE YOUR SIGN! You will get the scares, the screams, the incredible actors, and an unforgettable experience, but what makes this place truly special is the HEART behind it. First before I tell our story, THE ACTORS WERE A SOLID 10/10! The creativity, the scares, the atmosphere, and the dedication everyone put into making the experience incredible were amazing. Everything from start to finish was fantastic. Every attraction had so much detail even though a lot of the time I was screaming you still have the opportunity to stop and look at how amazing these houses forest trails, how much detail and effort was put into them, and my mouth was dropped. Our story started on Friday, October 16th, when my husband, daughter, and I visited for the first time. We had spent around $270 for tickets to go to both scream, town and abandoned hayride (two seperate attractions) and we were so excited to experience everything together. We had got in line right away for the 8:30pm hayride waited for a good 25 min & finally boarded! At 9:06 p.m., I received a phone call that changed my world. I was told that my grandpa was dying in the hospital. Thankful I answered it before we left... as my phone rang 3 times during the safety of the actors speech. I thankfully had time to get off before take off but, sadly, my grandpa passed away that same night. The staff helping me off the hayride were so gracious and understanding during one of the most devastating moments of my life. I will never forget that kindness.... After reaching out to explain what happened, how we got there spent a good amount of money to basically stand in line ...the team responded with such compassion and generously offered our family the opportunity to return free of charge. But they didn't stop there. When we arrived for our return visit, we were welcomed with VIP without even having to ask. It was one of their busiest nights of the season, yet they went above and beyond to make sure we could experience everything. The VIP lines allowed us to enjoy every single house and attraction without missing a thing (this is your other sign just buy the VIP tickets), with it being one of the busiest nights there's no way we would've made everything with how long the general admission lines were that we originally purchased! Even with the incredibly long lines. We got to enjoy the food, drinks, attractions! But here's what I really want people to understand: this is a place that makes a business out of scaring people, yet when life gave our family a real-life nightmare, they showed us compassion, kindness, and humanity. They could have simply rescheduled our tickets and fulfilled the bare minimum. (Still would have been so grateful) Instead, someone made the decision to go above and beyond for someone they barely knew, during one of the hardest weeks of my life. They turned an incredibly painful memory into an opportunity for us to laugh, have fun, and make beautiful memories together when we truly needed it. That is something money cannot buy. To the person who arranged our return visit, to the staff, to the actors, and to everyone who helped make our night so special: THANK YOU. I hope you know the impact you made. If you're looking for an incredible haunted attraction with amazing scares, talented actors, fantastic experiences, and a team that genuinely cares about people, Scream Town and The Abandoned Hayride deserve your support. Go for the scares, stay for the experience, and know that behind all the monsters and mayhem are real people with truly good hearts. Five stars aren't enough. We are customers for life!

We complained about the lag time but 2 other ladies just standing around doing nothing said "oh, we're used to it!" And I said "We're not." They're clearly inept throughout this entire facility. At the paintball zombie line up, there's no one there so you don't know if you're in the right spot, or if they're doing the hunt or what! When you get on, here's their announcement: "Don't shoot guns across the other guns or they'll break. Everyone sit down while the tractor is moving. If you need more paint balls we sell them." In our group of 8, we had no idea how many paint balls or how long the ride was to manage our usage. Only when we were done did we find out there were 5 scenes with 100 paint balls to use. On top of that, most guns didn't illuminate the balls so you can't tell if you're shooting and if you are, you can't tell where you're hitting. Overall, the lack of management and organization ruins this experience. Hard to believe they are still in business.

Without question, this…read morewas the BEST Halloween experience we've ever attended, and we've certainly explored our fair share of spooky festivities. This isn't your garden-variety haunted attraction with a few cobwebs and an underpaid teenager jumping out from behind a curtain. This is an entire immersive Halloween experience, complete with an elaborate layout, a makeshift village of delightfully sinister shops, tarot readers, plentiful food options, and an impressive collection of genuinely frightening haunts. The attention to detail was extraordinary, with an atmosphere that managed to be both wonderfully theatrical and legitimately terrifying. Definitely an experience for teenagers and adults rather than younger children, unless your parenting philosophy includes introducing existential dread before bedtime. At approximately $38 per person, the admission was worth every penny, a refreshing rarity in the increasingly expensive world of seasonal entertainment. The scale, creativity, and execution were exceptional, and we left thoroughly impressed. If Halloween had a flagship destination in Minnesota, this would be a formidable contender. Absolutely phenomenal, and we cannot recommend it highly enough!

Really well put together and the attention to detail is great. I'm talking disney level of theming, but much scarier. After the hayride you go though some scenes and areas of the property to get back to the front, where you can get into Screamtown. Would 100% go again.
