I was hoping to love my experience at scream town but I left without a solid scare. We purchased the most expensive pass for the evening which was really expensive but it was really nice to cut through to the front of the lines. This pass included the trail ride which was OK - I'd skip this in the future! The ride stopped at different "scenes" which were fun to watch but none were really scary. I was hoping through a dark ride through the woods where there was more pop out scaring and didn't expect the multiple stops with different scenes. After the trail ride we went through all of the haunted houses. They were set up super well but unfortunately even though they tried to give a bit of time between entry of groups, we found ourselves always just missing the pop out scares as the actor had just finished scaring the group ahead of us and was getting back into position. No one's fault and they do a good job of keeping the lines moving fast, it was just unfortunate timing that left us feeling like we weren't really getting a full scare experience. They had a stage for different shows, food trucks, and other stops for entertainment which was nice! I won't write it off my list completely but it's not top of my list to go back to. read more

This place is - and I say this as something of a Dead End Hayride loyalist - AWESOME. My friends and I really like these October haunting experiences. This is the most expensive one that I know about. We splurged for the Ultimate VIP pass, which for a Friday night was well above $100 each. And my friends and I all agreed that it was worth it! Most of the experience is a linear path starting with a hayride and going through at least five haunted houses, but before each of those sections there is a line, and if it's a busy night that line will be long. We strolled past each of those lines with our fancy VIP pass and it was like one incredibly long, satisfying haunted house experience. There is so much walking starting at the end of the hayride that I skipped the gym the next day and felt no guilt. That hayride is unique. They have all the seats pointed to one side, and it stops at a number of stages for very theatrical vignettes. Some of the vignettes involve impressive magic trickery! What happens after that is best left as a surprise, but I will say that there are many fun, creative ways that Scream Town distinguishes itself from its competitors. Lots of animatronics! That must require a large team of mechanical engineers to maintain, so the price tag makes sense. Note that two of the sections are only available to the upper ticket tiers. But also note that you can do the largest section ("Oak Blood Forest") on its own for a much smaller fare. The village with all the food kiosks and souvenir booths is big and bustling, with lots of options including a magic shop where a professional magician gives a fun demo. There are stages with shows! A little disappointed with the experience but maybe I didn't do enough research ahead of time to understand how "scary" the haunted houses would truly be. We purchased the regular tickets and went into 5 of the haunted attractions. Our tickets were for 8:30 and upon arriving, we waited for an hour to get our tickets checked before being able to enter Scream Town. Then we had to wait in another line to get into the haunted houses. If I were to do it again, I'd definitely buy the VIP/fast pass to be able to jump the lines. When going into the haunted houses, they really try to keep the line moving so often times we were sandwiched right between groups. I didn't love this because it took away a lot of the jump scares since we were so close to other groups. Also, inside the houses I was expecting more actors but it was mostly animatronics and while they were very impressive, personally I don't think they provide the same scare. Because we didn't have VIP tickets, we did not get to go into the haunted house where they are allowed to touch you and we also did not try the haunted hayride, sounds like maybe those attractions would've been more what we were looking for. Overall, it was a fun night for something different to do, but if you're looking to be truly spooked, I'd find somewhere else. read more

All in all, we had a good time. A little dark in some areas, ended up hurting my ankle. The first few houses were awesome! As we got closer to the end, it was a little lame. Mostly just walking through the attraction with just noises, no one jumping or wandering near you. At one point, we were trying to figure out what way to go and were somewhat hurried out by an actor. I know we have to keep moving so there's no jams, but we were in that spot for maybe 30 seconds. The Haunted Forest could have been so epic, but it lacked everything. Just felt like we were literally going for a normal walk. Watch out for tree roots! We got there on a Saturday when they first opened. Parking at that time was no issue. Neither was the line to get in. I highly recommend upgrading to VIP to avoid standing in long lines. We may give it another try next year. read more

We purchased the VIP tickets for the attractions. I highly recommend doing VIP instead of regular due to long wait times in lines. With VIP you can cut the lines and our longest wait time was maybe three minutes. You can also park closer to the entrance. The only issue was you had to ask the traffic director where the VIP parking was. There were no signs that said this way. They also didn't check for VIP parking so anyone could have drove up front and found a spot. It's all outside so dress for the weather. The attractions were all decorated very well and you could see the hard work and creativity that went into each haunted house. They have a few food trucks and a beer/wine place. Most of them took cash only but there were ATMs nearby. It was an overall good time for the group. read more

Scream town HAYRIDE 9/10! I would say this part was better than the scream town itself. You do have to buy a separate ticket to go on the hayride tho but it's definitely worth it. Very good acting , interesting, fun, and interactive! The first stop when you get off the hayride 1 out if 5 stars I would say. Actors were rude and it was un coordinated. Afterwards was fine actors can touch you on and off the hayride but not in scream town itself. I would 100% go again for the hay ride and segments after hayride. It was actually scary not cheesy. This was a great haunted house experience. There is quite a bit of walking. All of the houses are in a row and I recommend getting the vip passes to experience everything. Vip allows you to go back in more then once. Make sure you eat before you go because food is sold at the very end. It's worth your money for how long it is and how much effort they put into it. This place is quite a ways out there but it has several attractions that you can go into over and over.. The price on the weekend was $25 and we upgraded to the "Fast Pass" for another $9 and it was worth it. We hit every attraction twice. They were a bit understaffed for a Saturday though. I've been going to this attraction for the past seven years and it is always a good time! I really enjoyed the new updates to two of their houses this year. They had a more interactive feel and the actors in both houses did an excellent job! The hayride has significantly improved each year since it opened and I highly recommend it! The one thing that could have been better this year was the queue line system. You are in one large line that feeds through all of the attractions and are encouraged not to leave the line. Water was the only thing on my mind after all of the houses. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I am looking forward to next year! read more

Scream town advertised themselves as taking precautions with COVID 19 and ensuring proper social distancing between guests would be observed. In reality, there was no enforcement of masks and the reservation system was somewhat of a lip service, with the same business model being getting as many people as possible to go through the line, without proper spacing, to maximize profits. Come to Scream Town at your own risk, and I wouldn't be surprised if it became a COVID Petri dish in a week or two. read more

I wanted to give this five stars but there were a couple things that bothered me. We made sure to space our time out right for scream town and the abandoned hayride. The abandoned hayride surpassed all of my expectations. It was phenomenal. The haunted houses started out great, but as it got closer to closing time we were almost rushed through the houses. There were characters who were taking their costumes and masks off as we went by and even some that completely ignored us. Once we were out of the last haunted house that we went in, we were being ushered out because it was closing time. We didn't even get to go through some of the houses. I've been having issues getting my review to post on Google, so I figured I would try here. First of all, last Thursday was NOT my first time at Screamtown (I came twice last year and now once this season), so I'm not really going to focus on the houses- they're fun, though not super greatly spaced out between groups, but a lot of the reviews on here already cover that. I typically do not write reviews, but last Thursday's VIP experience didn't sit super right with me. To start off, my group and I bought ultimate VIP because it included the abandoned hayride (which was easily 5/5 stars and the hayride/its mazes were the best part of our night!). Our night started with not getting VIP parking- not a huge deal since we were there early enough that we still had a pretty close spot, but sucks that no one really asked what kind of ticketing we had and there was no way to really be like "hey, where is the VIP parking?". From what I have heard from people in the past, as an "ultimate VIP", you kind of get the "ultimate" experience- in addition to no waiting, I've heard from friends it was typical to receive a free gift (which I've heard in the past has been awesome) and a food voucher of some sort- I didn't fully know what to expect since I've never done Ultimate VIP, but that didn't happen- we asked if there was a "cool gift" since that's what was advertised and we were told our light up necklaces were the gift (which is like, fine, but I wouldn't really consider that a "cool gift", I just assumed that was a way to tell who's VIP/who's not). We also didn't get a free food voucher or anything, and I guess to be fair, that isn't advertised, but I assumed after hearing so many awesome past ultimate VIP experiences from friends it would potentially happen. Also, the staff at the houses had little to no idea how to handle ultimate VIP. Every house we were told something different- Clown Asylum, leave your light up necklace on. Zombie Apocalypse, necklace off. Santa's Slay, necklace off. Oak Blood Forest, turn the light on. We skipped out on Crop Spawn because we were a little worried about timing and Ludicrous Labyrinth was fairly short and easy to find your way out of and no one was really in it (but I'm sure we would've been told something conflicting about our light if we would've done Crop Spawn and if anyone would've been in Ludicrous Labyrinth). Even in the houses after the abandoned hayride (which were top notch), we heard conflicting things about our lights- "turn them on because you paid extra so we need to know that", but also "turn it off because it ruins the experience". Besides that, the greeter at Zombie Apocalypse was lowkey implying she thought my friend and I faked our VIP stamp- apparently normal VIP has a spider stamp, but since we were "ultimate" VIPs we had a different stamp. She stood there for a minute or two trying to figure out if she should trust our stamp or not, and was like "I don't know, every other stamp I've seen is a spider" and we told her this was what we were given at the ticket booth and it's probably because we paid for ultimate VIP instead of standard VIP, and eventually after telling us she "didn't know what to do" and "didn't know if she should believe us", she just said "whatever, I guess I'll let it slide this time" (probably because the line was getting longer)and kind of just walked away from us. Also, scare actors should be actually scaring and not just saying creepy stuff to women. I had a clown who was in my face a lot in a room (I couldn't tell you what he looked like though because the fog was so thick and it was dark), who kept telling me "come here so I can give you a kiss", "I just want to kiss you", "pucker up baby", and muttered something else that I couldn't really hear- that wasn't scary, it was just an uncomfy situation to be placed in. I come to a Haunt to get scared, not have creepy sexual comments made to me So while yes, a VIP pass is worth it, I don't know if ultimate VIP was worth it's price point. It was really nice to not have to wait in lines, but the lack of communication on what to do with ultimate VIP people kind of took away from the experience. I love that the abandoned hayride and it's houses were included in the ultimate VIP package, but I can't say that made it worth the steeper price point. After hearing so many stories from friends about how awesome ultimate VIP was and how they were treated so special, leaving with gifts, etc. it was disappointing to leave a little frustrated and we couldn't help but feel a little let down. I wanted to give screamtown a higher rating, because it has always been a 4 or 5-star attraction to me, but after being treated how we were as VIP and having people try to hit on me in the houses. it's hard to give it a higher rating right now. I've never had a bad experience with screamtown, and maybe I had too high of hopes based on other's past experiences, but I don't know if I'd splurge on ultimate vip again. read more

Wish I could give this ZERO stars. I waited in line for two hours just to be told I would have to pay for VIP instead of regular admission. There were probably 3hours worth of people behind us...i don't know how you can sell that many VIP and still consider it VIP for the "extras". Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to ANYBODY!! Don't waste your time or money here. They need to seriously get some better management and better intercoms. Absolutely wasteful. If I could give zero stars I would. Three of us took our daughters. It was $114 for my two daughters and me. We went in the first "attraction". It was literally pitch black with one actor who would occasional try and scare you (according to the signs they all are short staffed). There were no other features other than lots of corners. The problem came about two corners in where the only way to get through you had to walk through 6 inches of standing water-- the color of sewage. The call it mud, but it was straight water. Gross -and literally nothing inside but some lame Halloween decor. All 8 of us had soaking wet feet and ruined shoes. We needed to leave and had to use a fire exit to avoid deeper puddles. Got approached by an actor who wanted to know why we left via fire exit and explained that we could Walk through more standing mud water. He said- it says there will be mud on the website. This was NOT mud. Talked to the owner (who you may remember from his racist employee memo or his racist tweets). Do not give yourself money to this over priced and unimpressive clown. read more

Beside the derogatory remarks, scream town is an awesome venture for scare seekers. It has an awesome variety of attractions, including a corn maze, haunted forest, and most importantly, for the slight of the imagination, a clown house. It will not only frighten you, but leave you with chills that will entitle you to come back next year! read more

We have went with friends the last few years and find it to be a fun night out. Nothing is too scary, but the real fun is to bring people that scare easily and let the fun begin. The Redneck Resort, Oak Blood forest and Circus aslyum have the best set pieces, some so elaborate you don't want to rush through. This year, (2012) the Corn one was very long and a bit boring, but at least we got good walk out of it. Rabid alley is ok, but you find yourself bumping into wall constantly. There are two ways to pay, regular and fastpass for an extra ten bucks. We got there after eight this year so opted for the fastpass, which saved so much time we did a couple of them twice. If you get there after 8:30 and want to see them all, fastpass is must. All in all worth the trip, but do the Alley and corn last. read more

Scream Town got me in to the Halloween spirit and I left with an adrenaline rush. Your ticket gets you access into a half dozen themed mazes (i.e. Fallout Shelter, Circus, etc) and you certainly get your money's worth. The sets in each maze are intricate and impressive, the performers are so realistic (especially the Penny-wise Clown) and the staff is very friendly. I go to a lot of these types of events and these scares were some of the best that I've seen yet. They know how to scare you from creatures that pop out of the wall, to air shooting down at your feet, and sound effects in your ears. It is an immersive experience and you will re-coil in fear every 20 seconds. Save the corn maze for last, it is the best attraction there and worth the wait! read more

Much to my surprise, I just received a call from the owner, Matt, who was very professional and helpful, so I'm editing my review and will update it again after seeing Scream Town in more hospitable weather conditions. I took my daughter last night after buying VIP tickets, about a $130 purchase. We arrived at about 6:40 pm excited for our first trip to Scream Town. Unfortunately, a heavy rain cell passed over almost immediately. Someone walked around saying it was supposed to pass in 15 minutes offering up the shelter of the VIP tent and others to all patrons. We decided to stay in line. The first walk through was okay--we were trying to keep our spirits up. After that, we were soaking wet, so we went to the VIP tent which turned out to be a tent with bails of hay that everyone passes through to get into the park. Nothing special there, so we decided to try a second haunted attraction. Mud puddles were over the top of my boots in multiple places. To say the least, it made getting through the attraction more difficult and not so enjoyable. We decided to leave and asked the owner to come back another night. He was hospitable and apologetic. Buy the VIP pass if you really want it, but the fast pass lines move plenty fast, maybe even faster. Just something to keep in mind. Finding the exit may be difficult, so ask where it is before you get in your car to leave. PLAN AHEAD AND PREPARE PROPERLY IF ANY POTENTIALLY INHOSPITABLE WEATHER IS IN THE FORECAST... THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT AND YOU NEED TO BE GEARED UP (ie. watertight clothing and waterproof boots, don't wear cotton, etc.) FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER. read more

Very understaffed for every 12 motorized scare there was 1 actor scare. It wasn't scary at all. Some of the costumes were cool but meh. We left after 4 of the house's because of the complete absences of actors and not being scared. Even the jump scares were weak. Complete waste of the hour drive and money. Screamtown has been putting on a good show in recent years. It has several mazes, from the short HIllbilly Motel to the long corn maze that takes forever to get though. It's much longer than it looks! (The motel is being redesigned for 2012, evidently, as the Redneck Resort.) It has another outdoor trail that takes you through a wooded area that has cool lights, a long circus/asylum maze and Rabid Alley, a maze that is totally dark throughout most of it. It looks like this year there are two new attractions that are part of the VIP pass, which is more than double the regular admission price. (For another $30 or so, these two attractions must be pretty spectacular.) Regular admission is now priced higher for peak nights than it is for off nights. And you can pay extra for a "fast pass" for admission to each haunt. That's an unfortunate gimmick many haunted attractions are turning to. There is cool, unique stuff at Screamtown. I doubt I will get there this year. I'll be interested to hear if the new VIP only attractions are worth an extra $30. They seem like long attractions, and I wonder how easily you can get through the rest of the stuff in one night. If I pay $55 or $60, I'm going to want to see it all. read more

My friends and I purchased the regular adult tickets. The lines were pretty long. Waiting time was 15-30 minute for each attraction. We got there at 8pm and went to all but one haunted house by the time it closed. It was not as scary because there was always a group in front of us and behind us so we saw what was coming already. 2018 was the first year we went here. I was very happy with how imaginitve this place was built. I have 10 grandkids and we go to lots of Halloween attractions every fall. Now I took 5 of them(ages 7-14) and they loved it. The actors acted accordingly for the age group I had and made them excited to be part of place of the event. It took us about 2 hours go thru everything and have a snack. So I am sure will be putting this on our regular rotation of events in the fall. Take your time, there is a lot to take in here. Don't rush thru it, talk to the actors, this place was great. One of the actors let my 7 yr old hold one of the prop chainsaws and she was excited that she talked about it for days! read more

Screamtown isn't the worst haunted attraction out there but it could certainly step up its game a little bit. The best house was the clown asylum. You got a few jumps there. The corn maze was long like another said but very few actors inside it and got kind of irritating after a while. The redneck resort is the most elaborate set that they have and does a fairly decent job. Rabid alley is a long walk through pitch black. Not super scary unless you're afraid of the dark. Oak blood forest is along the lines of a haunted hayride type attraction. Sparse sets and few, if any, real scares. Someone else commented on their two "VIP" attractions. We didn't have a VIP pass (and didn't know it was needed) when we attended "visitation at the funeral parlor." We walked in a few minutes late but caught most of the show. Afterwards we were chided for entering without a VIP pass (which there was no sign or anything on the attraction for.) Horrible horrible horrible is all I can say about that "VIP" experience. Bad acting, bad parlor tricks, and a half hour of regret is all you walk away with there. We then went to the bigfoot expedition and were told again about VIP, this time offered the tour for 5 bucks a person. Having experienced the train wreck that was the funeral, we cut our losses and high tailed it out of there. There are many better places to spend your hard earned money.
