All the fermenting, distilling, and bottling is done on site by the owners. Coming from San Diego, it was very interesting to see how the distillation process is done on a smaller scale. After the tour, she gave us a taste test of all their current selections. The testers included their vodka, gin, bourbon, whiskey, and so on. All the selections were so smooth. She explained that some of the store-bought liquors burn your throat because they may not be distilled properly. The ones we tried were definitely smooth-- I didn't gag or anything. Eventually we left with some 375 ml bottles of mint Loon Lightning and aged corn whiskey. Thanks again for all your hospitality!

I was disappointed, because for my taste, a raw jalapeño is a fine complement to a burger, but a pickled one (and whatever these were) really do not. It was still a decent burger. The elote pasta was also pretty good. Nothing to get overly excited about, but I'll say that the description of them was quite a bit better than they turned out to be. The service was quite slow considering how empty the place was. Maybe they sent some staff home. The inside isn't deceiving in the least. It is quite a large place. The tasting room is spacious and has kind of an industrial chic atmosphere going on. There is a large gift shop here that we spent quite a bit of time at. We got two of their beverages and enjoyed them fairly well. One was the Gin and Tonic and the other was a Moscow Mule. There were certainly other choices available but those sounded like what we wanted most. The Moscow Mule was my favorite but I have developed a recent fondness for this kind of cocktail and do there wasn't too much pondering involved as to what I liked best.
