Don Astin once again came to my rescue. A rather grizzly idiot light on my dash caused some…read moreconcern so I took it in. No waiting, he came right out and I showed him the evil symbol. What it meant wasn't found on his computer. Getting to the glove compartment I took out the owners manual and by gum, there it was. I never knew I had cruise control. In fact I don't know how that would apply to a manual transmission. Oh well. The sensor was shot. I no longer had this luxury. The fact is, he helped me out without an appointment and for his time... nothing. There's a lot of repair facilities and many people. Everybody has their favorites: Favorite restaurant, mall, car, wife, cat, etc. My favorite garage for my Mini CooperS is Astin's. They're a great team who care. To the 1 star woman... how dare you think he did that gratis. We live in a society where folks get paid for their work: mechanics, photographers, musicians, nurses hair dressers... you get the idea. Brought in my 16' WRX STI today because of my low boost/low power issue, which I already thought…read morewas due to a clogged catalytic converter (part of the downpipe) causing backpressure to the turbo and the engine. I dropped my car off around 9am for a diagnostic ($50 fee for 30 mins) and was able to get a diagnostic confirmation about one hour after that the cat converter was indeed clogged. I was able to grab another OEM downpipe from another shop (Matt Miner) with new gaskets and brought it back to AutoPro just before 2pm. I got the car back just before 5pm, which is about 2-3 hours of labor. According to the forums, some bolts of the downpipe becomes impossible to remove due to the bolts' threads stripping easily, but these guys managed to work through it. The car is now pulling the appropriate amount of psi of boost. The young woman up front was very courteous and knowledgeable. Oh and also the rental was only $13 for the day which is also a good deal. As for what I paid for the labor, I'd say they are decently priced. Not too low, nor too high.

Their customer service is absolutely OUTSTANDING. After being totally scammed by another shop--who not only tried to sell me work I didn't need but charged me 400% over market for a shoddy belt and pulley install (that I had to bring back multiple times)--I finally had enough. Out of frustration, I searched for other shops and found Tosti's based on their incredible reviews, and now I know exactly why so many loyal customers keep coming back! The team at Tosti's was AMAZING. Not only did they instantly diagnose an issue with my car on the spot, but they also agreed to cover my belt and pulley repair at no cost, just so I wouldn't have to set foot in that previous dealership again. They did this with no fuss, no guilt--just a genuine desire to help me out of a bad situation. You can really tell this is a family business that puts people first. While I waited, I chatted with a gentleman who's been bringing his cars here for over ten years--even after moving to Boston 4-years ago! That tells you everything you need to know about how Tosti's treats its customers and stands by its work. If you want a reliable, fair, and friendly team who does things the right way every time, do yourself a favor and take your car to Tosti's. I'm a customer for life!
