So all of the old reviews that mention Marsh don't apply to this newer store, now called Needler's Fresh Market. I don't know -- I think Needler's is pretty good! It has a little bakery on site (Lemon's Bakery Cafe), which has hot food and baked goods, with seating by big windows that overlook Mass Ave. Beyond the cafe, the rest of the joint is a small grocery store. You'll find a modest produce section with fresh-looking greens and fruit and things. They sell house-made hummus and sushi. The wine section is abysmal, but I did find a bottle of one of my cheapie low-key favorite bottles of Malbec here, so I picked that up. The dried ramen section is also better than it needs to be. The prices seem to be about the same as Kroger and other grocery stores. Checkout was quick and there were several registers open. The only thing is that I entered through the cafe and exited by the registers, so I got a little turned around once I exited. Keep in mind that you can only enter/exit through the cafe at certain hours. They lock that door after a particular time. (I think it's 5 or 6 p.m.)

Not a lot of patrons, but a nice couple came in later and we chatted with them too. We did a flight of spirits and had a couple drinks too. Their stuff is really really good. Their absinthes, rye whiskey, and wheated bourbon were all standouts that we purchased to bring home. The pizza and stuffed breadsticks were phenomenal. For a couple of decades, this was the spot where the city's dentists trained before the school was acquired by Indiana University and moved to its current location several blocks west to the campus of IU Indianapolis. The structure was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

I saw other flavors in the store, but not the one I was looking for. The brand of the pretzels is Stellar and I was searching for the Maui Monk flavor. The website indicated that they had it in stock, so I asked a worker for help. Unfortunately, he was unhelpful and made me feel like I was bothering him, so I continued searching on my own. After some time looking on my own, I asked another employee, who was much more helpful. He took the time to check and explained that they were likely out of stock and that the online inventory isn't always accurate. He also mentioned how popular the pretzels are and that they sell out quickly--even he buys several when they come in. My husband was also looking for a small bottle of Cointreau, but they were out of that as well. I decided to try another flavor of the pretzels - Sweet and Sparky. These were good, had a spice to them with the buffalo flavoring. These bags are priced at $6.49. I'd like to eventually try the other flavors, including the one I was looking for. Parti-Pak also allows you to customize 6-packs out almost anything you want, so you get to explore more beers than you typically would. I discovered this place because it was next door to the Goodyear where my headlamp was being replaced. AWESOME selection! Salted Caramel bourbon? No problem. Olive juice for dirty martinis? Yep, they had it. Elderflower liqueur for French gimlets? More than one variety to choose from. Plus dozens of other interesting things -- and the best collection of tequila I've seen yet in Indiana. (It's my fave... what can I say?) The prices looked really good on a number of bar staples (Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Tanqueray and Beefeater gins, etc.), and service was efficient and pleasant. Did I mention the vast selection of wines? Plus an entire climate-controlled room for wines, and an enormous chilled room for beers (which I didn't linger in because I forgot my coat).
