I asked him what wines he liked, and he said, "I always like a good New Zealand Sau Bla." Fortunately I knew that was bartender for Sauvignon Blanc, so the next day I headed to the Kahn's web site, shopped a little, and picked out one from the Marlborough region, feeling pretty confident about my choice thanks to the description on the Kahn's web site. I ordered it online, went in to pick it up, and even was able to get a nice gift bag on site. Thank you, Kahn's! When I gave it to him, he literally gushed. It turns out he had bought that himself several years ago, and liked it so well that his restaurant served it for about a year. I had definitely struck gold! Thank you, Kahn's, for making the whole experience very easy for me, and a positive one for him!

Blue dots are what I tasted (yes, small sips!), and the Liberty School cab came home. Others that topped my list were the Chateau Buera Reserve Rouge (a Bordeaux style from the country of Georiga), the Prisioner red blend, and the Brendel Coopers Reed cab. :) presented from the best and the staff is always wonderful. Also, excellent sale proces on the event wines! #ReviewsByRL

Located right off 62nd street by the Pet Supplies Plus sits this little gem…read more When I first walked in, I definitely thought it was going to be a store full of snobby and high-class (expensive) wine. I've never been more wrong. I went in when the owner was there and he immediately picked me out a wine based off what I likes. None of the wine on the floor is more than $20 a bottle. The average price is $8 -13/bottle which what I normally pay. He tests out all the wine himself (dream job) to ensure quality. The store also has a bunch of grocery store items that you would typically pair with wine, making it a one stop shop. I've gone in a couple times now and the staff is consistently helpful and knowledgable. This place is an under appreciated. I highly recommend the next time you are in the market for great wine from a locally owned shop.

(They are still offering a similar special!) You had a choice of multiple reds, whites, roses and even a couple of sparkling choices. It was/is a great deal, and offers the opportunity to enjoy different brands and styles of wine I may not have tried otherwise. Ron, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and can provide you with great recommendations, should you need them! The store is well-organized and offers many different varieties from budget to high-end selections. They also offer a nice assortment of gourmet foods like crackers/cheese/sausage/cookies to accompany your wine choice. Most recently I emailed to see if they could make me a gift basket. Ron responded immediately and said they already had a basket made in my price range with two bottles of their best-selling red and white wine. When I picked it up, I was very pleased with the selection of items included for the price. It's a great deal!

Before walking off with a bottle, the kind man behind the counter offered a little taste, because he had just opened a bottle. They will give you little sips of some of the things they have open, if you're curious about something new that you've never tried before. SoBro Spirits has got a lotta bourbon and whiskey, and in fact, I would say this is one of the better places to find bourbon in Indy. The wine section is fine but not the largest, although what they do have seems well curated and thoughtful. All around the store, you will see shopping baskets full of random bottles of discounted wine, beer and other alcohol. It was kind of fun to paw through the baskets and try to find a cheap treasure. Along with the Canadian whiskey, I walked away with a nice Rioja and a rose for a steep discount. This liquor store is located close to the Monon Trail, so it's easy to get to via bike or walking.

Look, I'm not one of those mongers who lives by "the customer is always right." Really... I'm not…read more What I am though is one of those people that look out for other people. Before I mention what I'm here to mention I won't comment further on expired beer on the shelves and open sores on the hands of the man that swipes my credit card. So, I remember a remarkably low price for Stella Artois the last time I'm in here but I didn't purchase it ($12.98 for a cold 12 pack). Most 6 packs of Stella is $10 & 12 packs are $17. This is a remarkable deal, somuchso that we went out of our way and left one store we were already at to save five bucks. We get there... and yipppppee it's still the sale price listed, we get to the counter it rings up as $17.99. Que? That's just heinous by the way, in the first place. So we point out the price listed, then go on to mention we went out of our way to come to their store. In a deep-fried bong hit haze he says he can't change it, and in fact says, "oh yeah this happened earlier," and walked over to take the sale price down. Now wouldn't you think if the same thing happened earlier you'd take the sale price down? Hmmmm... tough job you got there William. I think they assume that because it's beer that we'd just succumb to the powers-that-be and pay what they say. Bah! We walked out, for good.

They used to have a gift set that included booze, cards, condoms, a pickle, hot sauce, and a slim jim, which i thought was pretty boss hog because i'm a fancy pants and like fancy things like that. This liquor store won't overwhelm you with it's selection, but it has the basics and a little more. Protip: back by the rum, it looks like storage area but that is actually where the cold ciders are.
