I observed several students with ill-fitting garments at a prom. After questioning those students, they had the same story. Salesperson did not take all the required measurements, rushed through the process, and would not allow the students to try the tux on before leaving. In one instance, they tried to delay the return, in order to charge a late fee. Despicable business. read more

I ordered a tuxedo for a friends formal wedding, I went in to the store and the manager measured me. I told him I wished to have 12 W in shoes, he said there would be no problem. I asked if I should try the tux on in the store when it arrived, he said it wasn't necessary as he has been measuring for over 30 years. When the tux came in I did try on the shoes, they were tight and the manager just gave me lip service and ended up giving my shoes one size larger than I ordered. On the day of the event, I put on the tuxedo and the sleeves to the jacket were approx 2" to short, the pants were over 2" to short. I had to wear the pants with the clip open and down to my hips to be even close to normal and my shirt wouldn't stay in my pants. When I called the manager, he didn't care and seemed annoyed I called to complain. Do yourself a favor, use a reputable place for all your formalwear needs, this place is horrible. Awesome experience. Gary was so kind and did a beautiful job fitting our boys for thier tuxedos for prom. Been coming here for years and the customer service is excellent! Staff are very friendly, accommodating, professional and make you feel very comfortable. They even offered hotdogs and soda when we had to wait in a long line to pick up our tuxedos. We rented for a sweet 15 and all the suits were dirty or broken at last min!!! We traveled from Atlantic City which it's an hr away and when we go to return they told us we will get out money back but you don't they make you wait 3-4 weeks and it's impossible to get your money back!!! DO NOT RENT ANYTHING HERE! RUN AWAY--- had to leave 1 star other wise we could write the review. We rented a tuxedo for our sons prom (4/16) and at first Gary was very nice seemed knowledgeable in fitting our son. We put down a deposit for the his prom (4/29/22) and his GF's up on in Prom (6/3/22). When it came time to pick up the tuxedo, the problems began (4/28/22). Gary added picket squares which we explicitly said we did not want, he forgot his a bow tie and shirt buttons. Once we had that atarugaren out we got home and he tried on his jacket which was a child size. Went back to the store the same night (4/28/22) he lengthen the jacket in the original and gave me 2 others to to try. My son could wear nothing! Nothing fit. On return day (5/1) we explained all the problems, asked for a refund on the upcoming prom as it was just a deposit he outwardly has refused. Said we had to go through arbitration took our receipts and kept them for this so called arbitration. Not only is this an illegal business practice, I am disgusted; Gary is clearly thief. My grandson rented a tuxedo from this place and we had a wonderful experience. Very friendly and seemed family owned. I like small businesses and that friendly feel. Once the Tuxedo came in the shirt was too big for my grandson and they exchanged the shirt on the same day as the Prom with no problem. Everything fit good and he had a nice time. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! Don't try to save money by going here I promise you will regret it! I do! Very very very stressful experience will never recommend Gary to my worst enemy! I swear all the good reviews on this shop has to be people that know him. I can't see how anyone could actually be happy with him. This past weekend was my wedding and everything was magical except for the tuxes they were a nightmare! Don't believe a word this man says! Non of the tuxes fit 2 of the guys pants couldn't button. He blamed it on my father in law being a big guy and my thing is ok then maybe if you can't accommodate that then you should SAY THAT! and then I get ooo you can come pick up new tux ok when well not anytime soon because I'm not there. Ummm not my problem it's the day before my wedding you are an hour away from me. My father in laws pants were too small, my brother in laws pants were too small, my cousins shirt wouldn't button, one of the groomsman jacket didn't button and the ones that weren't too small were huge! And then this is the kicker the sole of my dads shoe fell off in the middle of the reception. My poor father had to do the father daughter dance with no shoes. Plus it was raining out so his foot got soaked! Gary wants me to send him pictures to help promote his store! YEAH RIGHT! I will never support this store the only photos I'll send is ones of all the stains that were on all the tuxes and my poor dad having to walk around with no shoes on. Ooo yeah the tuxes were filthy I don't think they are EVER washed and I almost forgot my husbands cousin had 2 different shoe sizes! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, ANYWHERE ELSE other than Tuxedo Junction in Oaklyn/Hadden Twp. Don't be lulled by their years in business, their advertisement, nor their conscientious and caring demeanor during your fitting. All for supporting, small businesses, but in this case, not worth the end result. TUX JACKET - Dated and dingy. PANTS - Each leg is inches off the other. SHIRT - Original shirt color was not supplied (ordered black/got white). Advised staff accordingly at pick-up. New shirt supplied is not correct size/fit, is visibly dirty and advised they have no other to offer. (Had to run out and purchase a proper fitting, clean shirt to wear with the balance of his disappointing tux) BOW TIE - had to hand sew the back as the seams were separating. DISAPPOINTED - Hands down. This is not the service nor product expected or promised. LESSON LEARNED - Tough lesson for the sixteen year old who trusted the individuals at Tuxedo Junction to help set the tone for his first prom experience. Trust and believe all of the negative reviews on this place!! Outdated and pathetic looking tuxedos. Had a creepy salesman that tried to tell me that he had all the info he needed without even having my son try on pants for his prom tux. He tried on a makeshift jacket and said "they all fit the same" (They don't!) and he never even tried on pants- never asked him what style jacket he wanted. We got a really bad feeling and just left! This old girl has seen better days. Stepping into the "show room" brings back memories of the 80's that I, unfortunately, am old enough to have (the LATE 80's mind you). My sister recently pre-paid for three tuxes for her wedding, but when I went to get fitted for mine, I was told that it was not pre-paid and I had to pay for mine. I thought maybe I had misunderstood my sister so I paid for it and figured, if it was a mistake, it could be refunded later and wouldn't be a big deal. It was their mistake and they called to ask for my credit card number so they could refund me. They never did. When my sister pressed the issue they reluctantly hand wrote her a credit (on the back of a flyer or cocktail napkin) for One Free Tux Rental. That doesn't cut it in my book. Make a mistake and make us pay for four tuxes, provide three and a "store credit" that will probably never be utilized. Also the wrong shirt type was given to everyone when we picked up. They did provide the correct type, although mine had a stain (luckily it was not visible when I had the jacket on.) The shirt type, the stain, that's stuff that can probably happen anywhere, but the refusal to refund when it was their mistake is what will keep me from going back. read more

I had the pleasure of dealing with this gem of a place about 3 years ago when I needed a tux for my son. From the beginning I should have known it was going to be a hassle. First off, just walking into this place it was crowded and musky. The showroom is extremely small. The clerks were all busy and seemed like they didn't have time for one more person. The choices are dated and anything that was new would cost close to $200. Then again, this was my first time dealing with a tux rental, so I thought this was normal. After making the initial selections, we were told to come back a few weeks later to pick up his tux. So a few weeks later, we get there and it appears that the entire world was there to pick up. The line was down the block. Never have I experienced this before ever. It was probably due to poor planning on managements part. So after waiting about an hour, we are finally next. We get the tux and go home. My son tries it on and it seems ok, expect for the shoes. They gave us shoes that were too small. By the time we noticed it was too late and they were closed. I had to run out the following morning the day of the prom to buy different shoes. I was extremely unhappy about this. And when I called them to complain, I was told it was my fault for not having him try it on there. After going back & forth with the sales clerk and playing phone tag for a few weeks, I gave up. Thankfully I will never have to do business with this place again. Stay away from here if you don't want to deal with rude salespeople who don't care about your event and are only there for a paycheck. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. We rented tuxedos from this place for a wedding. When we went to get sizes for our tuxes, Joe promised us that the tuxes would be form fitting. Then, when the time came for us to actually try our tuxedos on, every white dress shirt was an extra large. They looked like we were wearing trash bags. Joe told us that smaller sized dress shirts "didn't exist" and was very snappy when we challenged him on that "fact." Also, the changing area in this place is a joke - very small curtained off sections of a room with super dim lighting. I kept bumping into the person next to me while getting changed and the curtain doesn't close all the way so you can easily see each other undressing - super awkward and unacceptable. Also, the lighting is very dim. They probably do this so that you can't see the stains on the shirts - I didn't notice that my "white" dress shirt was yellowed until I saw the shirt in brighter light. When all of the groomsmen were getting dressed for the wedding, we found that they had given us all different color vests - even when it was explicitly known that the colors should all be the same. It was very difficult to contact Gary to swap colors. When we finally reached him, he told us that someone would go to the store and get us the correct vests. When we went to pick up the correct color vests, they were STILL incorrect (and this was the day of the wedding, so we had to just deal with it.) On top of all of that, TWO separate groomsman's shoes broke. The sole separated from the rest of the shoe. Poor quality shoes. Yes, this place is cheap ($100 for the tux rental), but from my experience, it's not that much less than other places. Please, save yourself the aggravation and spend the extra money somewhere else. Also, if you are reading this and think that this is some sort of "fake" post to bash this place, I've included pictures of the mismatched vests and BOTH broken shoes. If I could give them less than 1 star I would! They were awful! Waited in line 2 hours and my son's tux was still not ready - they said the jacket had a stain and they had to clean it again so we had to go back the next day. Then after we got home and the shirt didn't fit and the pants were ripped. We went back the next day and it took forever to get the correct size/fit. People were coming in and out with numerous issues. They were not even apologetic in the least bit, they just kept making excuses about it being their busy season with proms, weddings, etc. NEVER will I use them again! read more

STAY AWAY!!! I repeat... STAY AWAY!!!!! This place is a complete joke and should be named Tuxedo JUNKtion! I am a big believer in reading reviews and wish my best friend would have done the same before he had us go to this chitshow of a business for our tuxes for his wedding last weekend. Where do I begin... the dress shirts were 4x too big, the tuxes were 20+ years old and the hems fell out of the jacket arm and my pant leg as I walked to the ceremony. Not one groomsman had a clean shirt that fit. Thank goodness for Al at The Tuxedo Club in Cinnaminson. I called him and explained my situation and he said to come right in. Not only did he find me a dress shirt that fit perfectly, but he DIDN'T CHARGE ME to rent it. Talk about a standup business move. Then, when I went to return my tux on Monday, there was a sign on the door that said "out for a little" i.e. out to lunch. When I called I was told to leave it with the pizza shop next door because "they are our friends". SERIOUSLY?! Honestly, I'm upset that I even have to give 1 star because this joke of a business doesn't deserve any stars. For the love of all that is holy, stay away and take your business elsewhere. Please DO NOT rent from this place!!!!! We recently came here for our wedding and were completely ripped off by Gary. His prices are only low because he is renting tuxedos that look like they were thrown in the trash from other places. Not only did I have about 10 small holes in the both sides of my pants, the button of my jacket fell off before the ceremony at church. The priest had to sew the button on in the back before my wife to be arrived and no this is not a joke. First off the showroom is small so there is small selection of out dated tuxes. Second, we were told we could only pick up our tuxes between 5-9pm the night before the wedding. When we picked up our tuxes all of my groomsmen were measured too big and some of tuxes had stains on them. The shirts were gigantic and we were instructed to use a military tuck because he didn't have enough smaller sizes available at the store. When we got to the reception my fathers pants were falling down and one of my groomsmen's pant legs was longer than the other because the alterations came apart. Any word but AWFUL would be an injustice to sum up how bad my experience was. It's not worth aggravation to save $100. Gary couldn't pay us enough to wear the tuxes that he provided us that day. read more

I suspect that some of the negative reviews regarding Tuxedo Junction are written by those that represent chain stores and lose a lot of business to Tuxedo Junction. Tuxedo Junction's prices are lower than everyone else. It's not a chain so that when you visit the store you're dealing with the same people not a merry-go-round of new people that work for minimum wage and have no interest in the quality of the business. My experience is that the staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, able to work on a quick deadline and the store is very clean. I have used Tuxedo Junction many times and have always been very impressed! It bothers me to no end that some other tuxedo rental stores charge more than double of what Tuxedo Junction charges for the same exact Tux. read more

Awful and extremely stressful experience. I love supporting small businesses, but I'm so turned off by how the owner dealt with things when things went wrong. The owner, Gary is only around to bring you in and measure you, then no where to be found when disaster strikes with the tux's. He lets his staff deal with the angry mob scene.... horrible way to run a business. That being said, 2 days before the wedding the guys met at tuxedo junction to check out their tux's, they almost left without trying them on, thank goodness they did. Every single tux needed major work/alterations. One of the button up shirts had no buttons! The father of the bride went without a vest and had to make a few trips back because he was sent home with the wrong jacket (keep in mind how busy things are 2 days before the wedding). Most importantly they did not have the correct sized button up shirt for the groom and the ring bearers tux did not fit at all (poorly planned back up plan). From the beginning, we were told that all tux's were on the premises... this is not true. We ordered dark grey which is not at the store and we didn't find this out until we could not get a suit for the ring bearer or a shirt for the groom. The staff felt horrible and worked hard to help us, but Gary was not willing to call us to discuss the issue. After 3 hours of trying to work things out they agreed to "overnight" the suit and shirt with NO GUARANTEE that they would be here in time. Friday goes by, no suit or shirt, we were told it would be here on our wedding day, 9am. Our wedding day came, nothing at 9am but a dark building with a note on the door that said "call gary", no one called the groom beforehand so he didn't have to there for no reason. He spent his whole wedding morning driving himself and the ring bearer back and forth to the tux place a few times throughout the morning. 10 minutes before the wedding, the groom was able to get dressed in a STAINED collard shirt and the ring bearer in a oversized suit. Instead of the groom having a toast with the groomsmen, he was running around looking for clothes. Suits are cheap, worn, stained... you get what you pay for. The savings wasn't worth the hassle. If you decide to go there, don't let Gary measure you. FYI My friend is getting married in the spring and she won 3 free tux's at a bridal show for this place. i've called twice to set up appts and said that ill be bringing my son in and they say just come between these hours no appt necessary. we haven't even been able to get my son fitted for his ring bearer tux because both times we have taken our son to get fitted for his godmothers wedding next month, their closed with a sign that says "be back in a minute" after you call the number on the door their at bridal shows! how are you going to bridal shows to represent your store and bring customers in and your store is always closed because your at bridal shows!!!! they need to hire people so they can remain open when the go to their bridal shows! this is beyond frustrating and its not even my wedding! STAY AWAY!!! STAY AWAY!!! This review will hopefully save you from the anxiety and make you laugh at that the events that would unfold before my wedding day. 6 months before my wedding we had begun tuxedo shopping, we had found a place with a style and color we liked, but it was a bit expensive. A few weeks later we received an ad in the mail for Tuxedo Junction, and the great deals they had. We called, spoke with Gary, and went in to see what they had in stock. I tried on a few different tuxedos, until we found one we liked and a vest that matched the bridesmaids' dresses. Gary was very nice, and listened to what my wife wanted. Two of my groomsmen were out of town, and trying to get there sizes in to Gary was a pain. His voicemail was alway full, and email kept getting mail delivery errors. This should have been my first warning, but against my better judgement I gave him the benefit of the doubt. And with every size given, and groomsmen that went in they were asked shoe size, which I had mentioned numerous times we will be wearing chuck taylors. The Thursday before the wedding, those of us living down here were finally asked to come in and try the tuxedos on. When we arrived nobody was there. Gary showed up 10 minutes later to let us in to a poorly lit showroom and dressing room, oh and did I mention the heat wasn't turned on. After trying things on everything seemed fine with the exception of my father's and best man's coat. After a quick resize it seemed we were on our way, but we weren't. Before we left, I realized we didn't have pocket squares, which just like the shoes I had mentioned repeatedly. He then made it seem as if I was not clear about wanting them, but that he could help me out and have them shipped to the hotel the morning of my wedding. Friday night we had our rehearsal dinner, and after a chance for my other groomsmen to try on their tuxedos. The following events are true and sadly not embellished in the least. Groomsmen One had a jacket with sleeves up to the elbows, and pants that were pleated (not what we asked for), also the vest which had clasps had to male clasps and couldn't clasp in the back. After seeing this blunder we all went in for a further inspection. Groom pleated pants as well. Best Man holes from moths or mice in the crotch area, jacket pockets sewn shut and flap out Groomsmen Two pants that didn't match other pants Groomsmen Three the only one with a complete tuxedo, but not matching anyone else. From 8:30 - 9 I tried calling Gary, but got nothing but a full mailbox. I tried to email, but got nothing except mail delivery errors. Finally, my best man was able to get a hold of him. After some screaming and yelling, he said he could meet us at 8am even though they don't open till 12 to fix the issues, because there is simply no way I'll find someone else to get tuxedos from. Not feeling convinced and feeling sick to my stomach I spent most of my night searching online for other tuxedo vendors, spent some time on a chat with Dashmyan from Mens Wearhouse, and threw up twice from the stress and anxiety. MY fiance finally calmed me down enough to sleep for maybe 2 hours, when I woke up at 5am I found her awake searching as well. We found a place called ROCHESTER FORMAL WEAR, remember that name folks cause these guys are the real deal, and if you take anything from this long ass review it's those three words, ROCHESTER FORMAL WEAR. I sent them an email on a hope and a prayer that they would get it when they opened at 10am. The next morning we went to Tuxedo Junction, and when we arrived the sign said open, lights were out, and door unlocked. We spent about 5 minutes inside shouting to see if anyone was there, before going back to the car which was warmer than inside. In ten minutes or so Gary appeared out of nowhere tapping on my car window. For the next hour and a half we tried on multiple coats and pants, each new item with a new batch of issues, until it got to a point that we knew it wasn't going to get any better. The entire time Gary just kept saying I'm trying to help. If it wasn't for my groomsmen and I making fun of the situation and Gary, I would have gone insane. I left there feeling deflated and embarrassed, thinking about how we would look standing there for the ceremony. On the drive back to the hotel with our POS tuxedos, which would later be dubbed "the Gary", I got one of the greatest calls of my life. "Is this Joe, this is ROCHESTER FORMAL WEAR. We got your email, I've got what you want in stock and I'll get the 5 of you fitted and out of here in 30 minutes." We dropped off our "Gary's" at the hotel, and went to ROCHESTER FORMAL WEAR. We walked in and were greeted. I said I'm Joe, and with that the measuring tape was out "literally" and sizes were being shouted out. We were whisked away by the guys there, and trying on shirts, jackets, and pants. It was in that instance I knew everything was going to be ok, and 30 minutes later we were off. read more

STAY AWAY I made the mistake in trusting Gary, I believed him when he spoke about how they are better then the big name corporation, how they have a whole stock room filled with extra jackets, shirts, pants so that in the case of something not fitting one of our groomsmen, it wouldn't be a problem. BIGGEST MISTAKE.. Do not trust Gary!!!! Not only did NOTHING fit any of the groomsmen, pants, shirts, jackets ect; but when we called them to exchange for a different size, NO ONE ANSWERED. My husband had to go to one of those "big name corporations" the day of the wedding for a new shirt. The jacket had pink lipstick all over it, the shirt was down to his knees and so stained and not one jacket matched another! Gary is nothing but a lying sack of sh*t. Nothing he says to you is true. These are once in a lifetime moments we cannot get back for our children/loved ones and I find it unfair and irresponsible to offer such an un-wearable product. Take a moment to read the reviews!!! My son was drawn in by the advertising he found at his school. Thinking it would be nice to save a little money by using the coupons provided, he was fitted at Tuxedo Junction in Oaklyn. Things went downhill from there. After the fitting, I called with a few questions for Gary, but he was constantly too busy to talk to me. When we arrived an hour early the night before his prom (the only time we were permitted to pick up the garments), we took our place in a very long line in the heat. After more than an hour, we stepped over the threshold into a cram-packed, dark and dingy room that smelled of urine and body odor. We would later learn that smell would also accompany the tuxedo rental. Parents were not allowed to see their sons in the tuxedos, if you actually wanted to wait an additional hour for the fitting room - which we did. However, it was such a hot and exhausting experience thus far that my son decided that the pants/jacket fit fine and we left. Remember, that was the evening of his event. When we got home later, with great anticipation I asked my son to try on the tux since I was denied the right to see him in the "store." I was devastated with what I saw. The pants had many holes, the more disturbing hole located on his backside and so obvious even his jacket could not hide it. The satin stripe down one side of the pants was frayed. The "white" shirt was actually an ill-fitting, yellowed thing with a blackened collar. The vest had a dry-rotted and stretched out adjustment band that rendered the vest useless - it was too large on him since we couldn't adjust it. The entire ensemble smelled of that familiar urine and sweat we encountered at the store. The next day, he luckily had a half day from school to run to Men's Warehouse where I had to PURCHASE a tux for that same evening. I placed a call to Tuxedo Junction on the same night of his prom and explained what happened. Gary responded that he couldn't possibly find all the holes since the fabric is black and he apologized. He explained they are aware of the holes, which are usually made "because kids smoke that funny stuff," and when they find them, they patch them up. I wanted to bring the mess back that very evening, with my receipt from Men's Warehouse, proving he was unable to wear the garments as intended for his event and requesting a refund, along with the photos I took. Gary assured me the next few days would be fine. When I returned the "tux," he asked me to write down my complaints on a piece of torn paper (no formal paper work) and he would have to contact the factory for arbitration. That was June 5th, 2016. On July 22, 2016 I received a message from Gary. When we spoke on July 23, 2016, he explained that "my next tux rental would be free since my son wore it." I reminded him that he never wore that thing and that we purchased a tux - therefore we would not need to rent another. Furthermore, I reminded him that the experience was so foul, that I wouldn't be returning and he needed to honor his refund promise. And then it happened again. He was too busy to talk on the phone because he was handling a "sweet sixteen party." I am an extremely busy person but I will take the time to write and warn potential clients of my experience. They are cheap because their product is cheap, outdated, and filthy.
