The studio has a wonderful sense of community, with a large number of events throughout the year; On Friday nights, the studio teaches a dance workshop accessible to all levels, rotating between several fun routines - this is followed by a dance party in which the floor opens to general dance with a great atmosphere (lights, music, etc). As a plus, at the time of this review, the dance party is free to anyone who attended the workshop just prior, so you get two experiences for the price of one! The recitals are so so well put together, with professional sound, lighting, costume, and choreography, which is surreal considering that it organizes hundreds of kids into so many back-to-back ~3 minute dances. Luna also feels like a space for inclusion whether the kids are rapidly advancing in skills and there to be with friends and have fun. We're staying, FOR THE TIME BEING, because I don't think she's going for anything more than just leisure dancing and getting a nice posture. However, as she is getting older, I am considering moving her to another school where there are better teachers. Before I talk about the bad, let me say that Vinny Jones and Ommi Pipit-Suksun are AWESOME. They are the only saving grace why I am still sending my daughter to this place. There's however one other teacher that is nice but it's a complete waste of time to be in her class. Unfortunately, we are "forced" to take her class. You see, up to a certain level, students must take at least 2 classes per week and so we are stuck with her class. Honestly, at least 5 moms that I have talked to and their daughters (the students) simply hated that class with her. We're simply there to fulfill the 2-class requirement so as to stay being matriculated in the school. This teacher, B.A., is too old and not physically able to dance anymore. So, all lessons are simply "verbal" instructions, without any demonstration of how a dance move should be. Plus, she plays favorites ... If this school cannot offer enough classes with good teachers and continues to force parents to have to take a certain minimum number of classes per week, we are going to have to find another school. We don't have that much money and time to throw away. Just salaried folks here.

He focuses on making your foundational skills more solid. For a beginner, it's easy to rush to look cool but with Ceech, a lot of patience is involved from him into making a move really solid. This is exactly what I'm looking for from my dance coach -grounding the basic moves really well. In helping his students get to a move, I appreciate the progressive approach he takes into getting to the final move. Not only does Ceech break it down into smaller and easier steps, he also improvises progressive steps that starts from the easier moves that leads to the more complicated moves and eventually to the move we're trying to nail down. He does this based on what he observes real time about your situation and your current dance skills so I actually end up learning the move faster than if I were to just practice the harder move 10,000 times. I also appreciate Ceech's knowledge in dance in general. I also share my experience from my other dance classes with him and sometimes we talk about moves from my other classes as well. You can also learn a lot about the history of hip hop from him, for those who are interested. So far, I've had about 6-7 lessons with Ceech but I do see myself learning from him long term. Highly recommend Ceech to anyone who's looking to get serious about hip hop.
