We've had a great experience with this tutoring center, especially with the math help for my 14 yr old daughter. Tim does an awesome job managing the center and creating a welcoming environment, and we especially appreciate tutors Loi and Jason, whom are both really patient and good at explaining math to her in a way that actually clicks. My 4 year old started attending for sessions to prepare him for Pre-K. After just one session, we ended up signing up our HighSchooler to make sure he finishes the term strong. Our daughter was initially falling behind 3rd grade math, we enrolled her and quickly she started to catch up. She's been enrolled since the and now she's ready to tackle 5th grade. My 9th grader has been going for 2 months. She goes for 1 hour of tutoring along with 1 hour of study hall 3 days a week. (6 hours total) To ensure the session is effective, she goes in with a clear agenda to make sure she doesn't waste the time. Tutoring club is helping her with math, and with any composition (writing) assignments. They generate extra math worksheets for her based upon the math worksheets that her school is providing. Her math grade has slowly trended upwards. (Previously her grades were propped up with hours of pre-test cramming by me or dad) The tutors also go over her writing and compare it to the grading rubric that the teacher is using. They make recommendations based on the rubric. This has helped her fine tune her writing. I have checked these tutor assisted compositions afterwards to check their quality. (Once more, her history/english/science papers were all previously edited by me.) Her grades in history/english/science have held steady or trended upwards. Honestly, we could probably do this on our own. But being able to outsource this task has been priceless for our family harmony. After working all day, I don't have much energy left to tutor my own kid. It has been a relief coming home and knowing that she has finished 80% of her assignments. I do believe she is learning valuable study habits, and the focused time of studying has helped. We used to have a lot of stress at home trying to keep our teen on task, and make sure that she was studying properly. Her schooling is a great source of conflict and stress. Recently, our kid asked for tutoring so we tried tutoring club. (The fact that she is motivated might be part of the reason we are getting the results we are) I heard 10th grade is going to be very hard. We will be using tutoring club to try to front-load her this summer. Hopefully that will take the edge off of next school year. If it doesn't help, I'll be sure to update this review. read more

I have been very patient with Debbie and with the new manager Jason, before writing this review. Debbie promised a lot and talked us into a package for my 9th grade son. I have told her every session what was expected, but my son comes back after 2 hours with hardly anything done. It has happened several times, and now they have a new manager. I have requested to cancel the remaining sessionsand refund us, since nothing improved . I am trying to resolve the correct hours my son attended, I have left messages and 2 emails, unfortunately no reply so far. My husband and I drove a long distance with great hopes , my son would improve. So terribly disappointed. read more

Had a great experience here! Found Tim Nguyen abt 30 hrs before a huge test my daughter had to take which would impact her college future. She has a learning difference which made the material especially challenging. Stakes were high & there was no time to spare. Tim took us on and fit her into his already-crammed schedule for about 6 hrs of one-on-one help before the test. She passed! And we have him to thank. She had been using a series of online tutors throughout the summer, but it was not working. Tim had a way of demystifying the material and lowering her anxiety so she could grasp the information. The atmosphere at Tutoring Club of Tustin was professional yet upbeat and not at all intimidating. I saw kids there of all ages and the energy in the room was very appealing. College applications and the SAT coming back post COVID can be very stressful and I knew my son needed help. I have found the Tutoring Club after I received an outrageous bid from another tutoring center to help my son prep for the SAT. I was very discouraged but made some calls and found the tutoring club to be the most helpful and friendly. Their fees were very reasonable and my son went consistently to his sessions. He increased his SAT score by more than 200 points. I now have a daughter who is going to be an incoming Senior and she has been prepping for the SAT that she will be taking this fall. Just on the practice tests alone her scores have jumped over 300 points. I am very happy with the tutoring center and their consistent communications with me. Being able to have them study in person vs being in a online class has been the game changer in my mind. This has been a invaluable resource for my kids and their college applications. read more

Our grandson, Damian (5yo) has been coming to Tutoring Club, Tustin for a few months. He has graduated from lessons on the letters and is in learning Phonics now! He is reading more and more without prompting as we go places. His confidence has risen a great deal as he is proud of himself when he reads something correctly. We are so happy with the tutors he has been placed with, especially how they work with Damian. Damian has pretty marked ADHD and can be quite the handful, he really enjoys tutoring and we are extremely happy that the tutors keep him on task. If he does get over excited they seem to be able to redirect him, even if it's after some time. The best part of taking him there is that he is happy when he leaves. He tries hard and is learning difficult things but is consistently happy when he leaves the center. We had looked around at other places, but nothing seemed reasonable. The Tutoring Club has been great, they have provided all the services my three kids need. My husband and I discussed with Debbie exactly what we wanted for the kids, she created a plan and the kids are doing really good. We have a 10 year old going into 5th, 8 year old going into 3rd, and 5 year old going into Kindergarten. They started in early June and been coming all throughout the summer. We love tutoring club! Our son has been attending for over two years. He goes one to two times per week during the school year and a few times a week in the summer so he doesn't backslide. He was struggling with math when he first started attending and with Debbie and Jacob's help he has not only gotten caught up but he's actually moving ahead of grade level. We have tried other tutoring centers and have not had as much success as we have with Tutoring Club. Our older high school age students have also attend led a few times when they were struggling with certain assignments or projects. They are fantastic, and the program is completely customizable which we love. We would highly recommend. I would like to start off by saying that Tutoring club is a very great way to acquire help for your student when they are having difficulties with a subject or numerous subjects. Not only does Tutoring Club provide excellent learning resources but they also have friendly tutors that make you feel comfortable with asking the most basic questions. From personal experience I was struggling in Algebra 2/trig and I was averaging a low C, I could hardly understand the material we were learning. I needed tutoring so my mother suggested I try it out and it was a great experience! My grades were improving as well as my understanding of the material while in school. I also had a few acquaintances that had also needed tutoring for different subjects, as well as SAT prep and ACT prep, they had also said that Tutoring Club had improved their scores immensely! read more

Our rising sophomore has been attending Tutoring Club of Tustin for past 10 months getting support on his math, biology and Spanish. He started off reluctant to attend at first, but he has progressed to enjoy working with his tutor and sees the benefit of additional academic support so he has shown more ownership of his learning. He decided on his own that he would like to continue his time at the Tutoring Club of Tustin during his sophomore year. The Tutoring Club of Tustin is well-organized, communicative and responsive in meeting his needs. He ultimately got a B on his final and was able to raise his grade to a C. The tutoring in language arts has brought out the detail in our daughter's writing that teachers have been working on for the past two school years. Despite a large vocabulary, our daughter struggled to add descriptive words to her writing and kept it very simple for her grade level. The tutors have encouraged her to be more elaborate in her writing and we are confident this will result in better writing this upcoming school year.
