Pi is the goat. I never enjoyed school and I specifically hated math my entire high school life. Then once I got to college I took my first calculus class and realized how behind I was. Tyler is an amazing tutor. My daughter needed serious help for geometry and our regular tutor was unavailable. We were really in a pinch so we were able to secure Tyler and on a Sunday!!!! My daughter said he was "patient, could calculate difficult algorithms mentally, and really knows his stuff." She was very pleased with his help, he gave her excellent tips and advice and she passed her final. He offered to Skype and even answer additional questions via text. The only challenge was driving to Simi Valley for the tutoring, but it was in the Simi Valley Library and they were open on a Sunday til 5pm. It is a beautiful library with a great room for tutoring. I have been working with Pi for the past year through Geometry, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics and Pre-Calculus as I prepare for my CSET examination. Two things to know about Pi: First, he's a math genius. Most of the problems I struggle through he's able to look at and solve in his head. Second: he's personable and friendly and is able to take complex problems and explain them in very simple terms that make understanding and solving complete math problems very easy. Another note: Pi and I worked together through the crazy Covid-19 pandemic. I had a great deal of apprehension as my math classes went online and Pi went online. I struggled through my math class because the Professor for my class was not well-equipped to teach online. I worried Pi would struggle. He did not. Pi adopted the technology quickly and was able to become just as effective online as he had been in person. Because of his personable nature, he is not stiff and uncomfortable online and is still very engaging and able to keep my attention. I live in Woodland Hills and am grateful I don't have to commute to Simi Valley anymore to work with him. I can now take my classes in the comfort of my own home. Online tutoring has also been helpful as I am not distracted by the sights and sounds of the coffee shops and library, either. I just email pics of what I want to cover to him ahead of our sessions and he uses an online white board, uploads the materials and our session starts. I can save screen shots of what he wrote on the board or copy it into my notebook for future reference. I've been loving the online tutoring! read more
