And another one didn't understand did SAT prep or barely anything about math SAT. Within 30 days, I had to go through two tutors for 6th grade math. First tutor was just giving my kid the answers. My kid told me because he wants to pass his test in class. I promised him Roblox if he got an A. Then while doing homework, tutor got half the questions wrong. So, I requested a new one (second one). She shows up late, most time she doesn't even show up at all. Then on her 3rd day, she came for 10mins and left. Session are one hour. I won't recommend this company unless you have time to keep requesting new tutors. By that time, my kid will be in 7th/8th grade. They charge $55 per hour. The tutors aren't experienced. I'm frustrated with this service. They ask you numerous times are you ready to schedule your tutoring session but before we can even make it that far they are side stepping honoring the quote they provided me. I've asked to speak with Felicity numerous times who provided me with the original quote and I can get a call back from everyone but her. That lets me know they aren't serious or trustworthy. I will pass. This is literally the quote they provided me but every person who I've talked to since has quoted me more per week. Why be dishonest? Tutor Hero found my 6th grade student a tutor in about 3 business days and the turn around was very quick. My student has improved dramatically over the first half of this school year, I will continue the sessions until the end of this school year and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a solid tutoring program for their kids! read more

They are IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of. They are not BBB rated. Tutors are not given a security background check. Tutors are not screened other than uploading their resume. They will take your money and not provide you with a tutor. They charge $77/hour and only pay tutors $27/hour but you will not be able to contact them when there is no tutor but they just keep drawing from your bank account. AVOID this scam of a company at all costs. Whoever runs this company I will be taking this claim to court and will do my best to warn other innocent customers. read more

I looked them up and seems like the rates are standard. They have no information about themselves/where the business is located/headquarter/process of matching tutors/etc. You have to call them for any information, and they will take your first 2 weeks payment before they "get the ball rolling". I asked questions about refund and schedule adjustments... everything went down to "just give us a call" or "assess on a case-by-case basis". The business is not transparent to me. Starting to have second thoughts about this company so warning others - we are in Charlotte. Our tutor is amazing, but the company practices are suspect. I had to ask to get a payment schedule, ask to get a running total of my hours used. All communication with them is through text - I have no contract signed that shows anything that we actually signed up for. They don't respond to emails - you have to call the office. No web presence at all other than essentially a one page form you can fill out asking for a quote. Will see how things go but if I had to do it again I would definitely pick another option. read more

Should be 0 stars. We put our children in tutoring and I was told even if we skipped a session I would never lose my hours or could be refunded when I closed my account. I have been trying to cancel my account for two weeks but every time I call the person I need to talk to is "out of the office" I have about $1k in unused hours that they have been refusing to refund until I can talk to this person who is alway OOO. I had signed up for 32 hours that Tutor, had to quit due to her college schedule was able to finally get a refund but instead of paying me for the $60 per hour that they were charging us they're trying to charge me $80 an hour in order to make my refund less that's not what the contract I signed, said, nor the hours I paid for this is price gouging it's illegal and definitely unethical.
