I have been using Study Edge for 3 years now and I can definitely say that it is a life saver. I started using it after I failed my first CHM 2047 exam. I thought I studied enough, but it was harder than I thought. I went to Study Edge and got detailed reviews and the tutors were great at knowing what might pop up on the exam. I definitely recommend Study Edge to anyone who is taking any of the courses they tutor. I have personally loved my experience with Study Edge and would recommend it to any students who are struggling in a class at UF. At the beginning of my freshman year I heard about Study Edge, but opted against it because I thought it was overpriced and unnecessary. However, despite attending every class and taking notes, I really struggled in Survey of Calc 1. After the first exam I decided to give Study Edge a try. The packets provide multiple example questions and a mock exam that are extremely helpful when studying for exams. I have been using study edge since my first semester at UF and I've got to say it has saved my butt a lot. Study Edge essentially explains all of the stuff you don't understand in class in a way that makes it look easy. They provide you with practice problems that prepare you for quizzes and they even have video solutions for several past exams. One thing I enjoy about study edge is that they encourage you to work smarter and tell you exactly what you need to know for exams and from my record they're usually right. I would recommend this to anyone that's engineering or Pre- Med cause this will save you a lot of time and hassle. For classes such as Orgo and Physics, I think that its almost mandatory as those classes tend to be the most rigorous when it comes to studying. The only down side is tokens kind of limit you, however you can always ask your tutor for more and they'll give you some, and it can be pricey for gold but in my opinion its totally worth it. Definitely helpful for those huge weed out courses- the tutors not only covered everything I needed to know but supplied me and everyone else with extra study questions and tips like mnemonics and little tricks to solve math and chemistry problems. The weekly packets come with gold memberships. I personally recommend the gold level because the weekly packets and review sessions keep you on track. Before going in for the live reviews each week, I made sure I had reviewed all the material and completed all my homework and practice problems and went in prepared with questions. Having switched from Microbiology to Accounting at UF, I can say Study Edge has helped me with every course I've taken. They defeat the entire purpose of learning. They just give you the answers the "think" are going to be best for the exams. Example, I used them for biochemistry... absolutely worthless. They don't have professionals in the fields teaching it. No offense, but a psychology degree teaching what normally a PhD would teach? Especially in biochemistry? I don't think so. Same goes for all other classes above the lower levels (ex gen chem, calc 1, physics 1.) All I have to say is save your money and read a good textbook. The negative reviews about the place are filled with misinformation. The subscription can be $50 or $75, and as a college student I have the cheaper one. If you run out of tokens (to access worksheets, solution videos, review sessions, practice exams, etc.) you email them and they send you more (so you aren't spending more money). They have to charge to provide their services as they are not part of the University of Florida. I have found it super helpful for Organic Chemistry 1 because I need the content explained to me in person a few times before understanding something. My grade definitely wouldn't be this good right now without them. Also, it is a subscription service and with any subscription you have to manually cancel it when you don't need/want it anymore.
