The teachers, including Ms. Gopi, Ms. Ti'aunnah, Ms. Hannah, Ms. Madison, and Ms. Ashley have consistently impressed us and shown sincere dedication to the children they teach. All of our interactions with the administration have been positive and we have found them to be responsive and diligent. We have also found that parents of children attending the Goddard School in Southlake are friendly and welcoming. We have enjoyed the seasonal events hosted by the school and its efforts at creating a genuine sense of community among the families there. We are familiar with other pre-schools in the area, including some highly-regarded Montessori schools, and believe Goddard offers a superior academic experience and developmental environment for young children. Goddard Southlake is definitely the best and it's due to the staff. Our entire family loves and adores the teachers here. The staff is friendly and helpful. They answer questions and know how each kid is progressing and offer helpful tips. My 10 year old is starting 5th grade and is well ahead of her grade level in reading and math. She started the digital version when we joined the new location. I was unsure about it at first, but it's a game changer. The work gets graded faster, the kids have to do corrections before starting the next packets, and it tracks all the work and the pace. We used to do paper packets at the previous location (previous owner) and glad we switched. Kumon even gives Amazon gift card rewards when you sign up through the Kumon portal. She was super excited to shop for her own gift as a reward!

They had trouble following a feeding schedule resulting in issues. Any time we went to pick up there were screaming kids and no hint or urge from staff to comfort. Final straw was the 6th time they didn't feed our child a scheduled feed. Told me it was because they had spit up. Come to find out he had thrown up warrantying an outfit change but they didn't bother to communicate with either parent. Terrible staff and they don't care for the kids. Don't send your children here. Not worth any amount of money for a poorly run facility that can't provide the basic care for children.

So glad we were given the recommendation. We decided to enroll in summer camp this year and it was great. A lot of the area schools were only doing in-house camps and not going anywhere. However, Excel usually has a field trip every day. This is some thing we loved because it gave my son an opportunity to be out instead of just indoors. It certainly made it a lot more interesting. I know he likes all the teachers and staff at Excel. He also loves the food choices that they have each day. We loved it so much that we are going to attend aftercare this year. We will likely be back for summer camp next year. My son is 7 and there were several kids his age in attendance. The director, Lisa is very nice. I'm so happy we found Excel!

My kids and I had a very unpleasant experience with Excel Academy. My kids stayed there from Nov…read more2019 to Mar 2020 (the 4 year old stayed for after school, while the 2 year old stayed full time. Both 3 days/week). This is what I experienced - I came back to the U.S. from my home country at beginning of March 2020. The school forced my kids to be quarantined because I traveled from a high risk country - which I understood. But they rejected to refund the prorated March tuition. In fact they closed right after my kids finished quarantine, and we paid for the whole Mar but only had a chance to go for a few days. Then I decided to withdraw my kids from the school. They rejected to return the deposit (around 500). The reason given was 'the school does not have much cash flow'. Considering small business was facing the risk of bankrupt during the pandemic, I decided to wait. I waited till Sept. Upon my enquiry, they refunded me the deposit. However, about $120 was deducted for 'late pick up fee'. They created a long list of my husband's late pickup on many days, however, neither before the 'late pick up' happened nor after, did we receive any notification on the policy or late pickup charge. That was ridiculous. My kids had stayed with White's Chapel preschool, Trinity church preschool, with each of them clearly announced the rule and gave notifications on the charge once it happened. So we were 'charged' by 127 minutes without even being informed. That was a trick. The front desk Miss Nina is a difficult person to work with. She either has a habit to creat obstacles or she's executing what she was told to. For the kids - Neither of them liked the school. They were happy with all the other 3 schools they attended but not this one. The feedbacks were : the teachers were mean. From my observation, the 2 year old class teacher was basically busy with daily care, like diaper change. She was too busy to teach. My kid (turned 3 year old during her stay) did not bring much art or paper home. The toys in the class were mainly baby toys. The 4 year old after school program - I sent my kids to this school because they promoted a Chinese lesson as enrichment, but it only lasted for 1 month. My 4 year old said her teacher was cold. On Christmas, I helped her make a card for her teacher. She brought it to school and brought it back. She did not give it to her teacher. I asked why. She said, the teacher was not nice to her. What would make a kid make a card but not want to give it out? When i picked them up, I sometimes heard one sub teacher was yelling. Both kids wanted to stop going. Because I had a travel plan, I could not move them before I left. Recently, when I drove by the school, the kids still said I dont like Excel Academy.
