I had interviewed several tutoring services prior to selecting VictoryStep tutoring services. We even went as far as to take a practice SAT with another local and well-known service in our area. This company touted their standards and ability to drive results, however they were not completely transparent about their methods. After testing with this company, they recommended that I purchase a package of 200 hours and that my daughter spend 12-16 hours/week receiving tutoring from their tutors at a cost of...$16,000. My daughter is very bright and a quick learner, her PSAT were very high and placed her to be a contender in the National Merit Semi-Finalist (NMF) category. I was outraged and contacted Varun at VictoryStep. He spent the time to go over my daughters PSAT test results and recommended a package of 18 hours to get her where she needed to be. He was confident and provided the reassurance that I would have a great ROI on my investment. Fast forward...my daughter is a National Merit Finalist and will be attending Duke, Class of 2022 in the fall, her first choice of colleges. She was offered at least 5 full-ride academic scholarships to well-known state universities in their honors program. We were so pleased with VictoryStep's personalized tutoring plans that we are now using them again for my son entering his junior year in high school. Be leery when receiving advice from tutoring services and do your research on the credibility of their tutors and their ability to drive results. Before studying for the ACT with a Victory Step tutor, my score was a 31. After Victory Step, my score was raised to a 35! Victory Step truly changed my life. I tried other test prep companies, such as Karen Dillard's, before I found Victory Step, but I never really saw an improvement in my scores. KD often focused on shortcuts that you can take if you don't understand a problem, while Victory Step helped me prepare for the types of problems that I could expect and taught me how to solve them quickly and efficiently. Other test prep companies hold SAT/ACT tutoring sessions with large groups of students, which doesn't allow students to work at their own pace or focus on their weak areas. Unlike other test prep companies, Victory Step tutoring is one-on-one, which means that if a student has a question, he/she can ask it without worrying about holding back the group. Additionally, all of the tutors are extremely qualified. If your regular tutor is busy for some reason, a video conference can be arranged with another tutor in order to make sure that you never miss a session. The path to my 35 was extremely hard work, and I don't think I could have done it without my Victory Step tutor motivating me along the way. We are navigating the ISEE testing process with two of our children, and I cannot say enough positive things about Victory Prep Tutors. Our personal tutor was Noureen. Noureen took the time to understand each of our children's unique learning styles, strengths, and areas for improvement. When I arrived in my new home, the U.S, four weeks ago, I was desperate for help on the SAT. It was important to me to write an excellent SAT score because I wanted to get accepted into top tier schools, but in South Africa there were no opportunities to get help tailored to improve my weaknesses. I started talking to VSE about a week before I left SA, and Courtney was super helpful along with the directors of VSE in helping me set up sessions before I arrived in the U.S. I only had three weeks before my May 4 SAT test and I needed drastic improvement in math, which I thought impossible, until Jed and I started working. Of all the tutors I have ever worked with throughout my school years, Jed has the most effective, easily understood methods I have ever learned. Victory Step really steps it up when it comes to tutoring. I have used other tutoring and test prep services for my self and i wish these guys were around during my time! I can't say enough about how different Victory Step is compared to the other guys (Kaplan etc.) I got their SAT prep one on one tutoring for my sister and was paired up with Catherine (highly recommended). She sat down with me and my sister and really listened and asked a lot of questions to understand what her strengths and weaknesses were. She provided tests to take before the course began to find items to focus on and work on developing. We are so grateful for Noreen at Victory Prep - she has been exactly what we were looking for in a SAT/ACT tutor for our high school junior. She is personable, direct and provides us with a written overview after every session, outlining areas that were worked on that day and explaining assignments for the next session. She is also incredibly smart and kind and is an excellent communicator. The customer service from Victory Step is wonderful. They listen to your needs and have excellent communication. My daughter just completed the ACT Prep Class which she was not ecstatic about attending. After the second class she said it's not bad, my instructor Eric is really good. He explains test taking skills and focuses on each section to really prepare the students. We just received my daughters scores and we were very pleased. We signed our daughter up with Victory Step to help her prepare for the PSAT and SAT. She was assigned to Ms.Jessica C. It was very easy to set up the tutoring schedule bc she worked around our needs. Jessica was always very informative about what she worked with our daughter at each session. My daughter Elise took an SAT in the fall to get a baseline score and from there we came to Victory Step to see how she could improve. She has had many tutoring sessions with Brett Reisman and believes he has really helped her to improve. Victory Step has helped my daughter improve so much on her practice SAT tests. We were lucky to have a great tutor who always came on time, patient, and who was always willing to find a way to answer any of my daughter's questions. This tutoring program is great in that students can attend classes or have a tutor come to the student's house. It worked best for my daughter to have the tutor come over and help answer the questions she had while completing SAT questions in her book. My children use Chris for math tutoring. He helps my daughter with her homework and also advances the curriculum to challenge her and get her ready for the next subject. Chris explains how one subject relates to the next and brings it all together. My son uses Chris for math enrichment and he loves how Chris can explain any concept from many different angles. We get notes at the end of every session, so the kids can easily look back at what they learned. The best part is that both children love their classes and feel really strong in math. My son did his SAT prep through Victory Prep Tutors. He took the 8 sessions package with Mr.John Noel and throughly enjoyed his sessions. My son needed help mostly with Reading and Writing and we saw a remarkable improvement with his performance. An almost perfect score on my GMAT! Was referred to Victory Step by a friend and can not say enough good things about them. I purchased the 80 hour plan. The tutor made me comfortable from the first lesson. Going into it, I was pretty nervous since I was never a good test taker.
