Tutor Doctor of Keller has been by far the most effective and a relationship we have renewed. Personalized private tutor that comes to the home and works around your busy schedule. Very accommodating of moving sessions around with advanced notice. Covers multiple disciplines suited to the needs of your child. Will work with the school curriculum and tries to get my kid ahead of the class rather than keeping up. Noticeable improvement in both grades and enthusiasm for school/learning. Very happy with the service and plan to use this firm long term.

I was going to upload the entire email thread with Mathnasium, but here's the quick rundown along…read morewith the final few emails: All this over a form......... (((((Brief outline of what happened)))) At our last appointment before summer, I told them we would not be attending over the summer and asked them to put the account on hold so we wouldn't be charged. I was told that was fine, so I left believing everything had been taken care of. They then proceeded to bill me for the entire summer--approximately $750. Once I noticed the charges, I contacted them and asked why I was still being billed. Their response was essentially, "You never completed the required form to place the account on hold." The problem is, I absolutely would have completed the form if they had told me one was required. When I specifically told them we wouldn't be there all summer and asked to stop the billing, nobody said, "We need you to sign this form first." Instead, I was told it was taken care of and left believing the account had been placed on hold. That is the entire issue: I made the request. They acknowledged it. They failed to tell me about their required form, continued charging me, and are now using that same form as the reason they won't refund the money. The email thread for this started on Aug 3rd today is Aug 31st and still not admitting to their error. ((((((My Email To mathnasiam))))) Good Morning, Good Afternoon, I appreciate the response, but unfortunately, that resolution is not going to work for me. My understanding from our conversation at Ruby's last visit was that her membership would be placed on hold for the summer and billing would resume after school started. At no point during that conversation was I told that I needed to provide an additional written confirmation before the hold could be processed. Had I been told that a written request was required, I certainly would have provided one. I relied on our conversation and believed the membership had been placed on hold as discussed. Because of that, I am requesting a refund of the three $249 payments charged on June 2, July 2, and August 3, totaling $747.00. I understand you may have an internal policy requiring written confirmation, but that requirement was not communicated to me when we discussed placing the account on hold. I don't believe I should be responsible for three months of charges due to an administrative requirement that I was never made aware of during the conversation. Please let me know what needs to be done to have the $747.00 refunded. If you do not have the authority to approve the refund, please forward this to the appropriate manager or corporate representative who can review and resolve it. Thank you, ((((EMail From Mathnasium)))) Hi Mr. Brown, Thank you for taking the time to explain your concerns. I understand that you believed the cancellation had been taken care of during your previous visit, and I can see why this situation has been frustrating. While our membership policies and procedures, including hold and cancellation requirements, are outlined in the original Parent Pack and Terms & Conditions, we do want to work with families when concerns arise. Since several months have passed, we cannot retroactively refund the full summer tuition. However, we have refunded the August tuition as a resolution. The refund should be reflected in your account within 5-7 business days. We have also received your cancellation request and will ensure that the membership is processed accordingly to prevent future charges. We truly appreciate the positive experience your family had with Mathnasium prior to this situation, and we are sorry that this issue has caused frustration. Thank you for your understanding. Best,

We have had our 9 y/o son enrolled here for a bit now and we are so excited about the changes and…read moreprogress that we are seeing. Plus, HE LOVES IT!! To find a program that is so beneficial and enjoyable for him is a wonderful thing. Thank you ALL so much for helping us to help/guide him with tools that will assist in making his future limitless!! Happy Parent.

In August 2026 my child's father took our son to this location where an assessment was conducted…read moreand a subsequent enrollment meeting was had all without my knowledge as the primary custodial parent. I only learned of this via my attorney and court documents. When I visited to obtain my son's results and get further information about what occured with him there I was met with pushback from Tori who not only did not give me my child's results, but called the father immediately upon me leaving to wait for her email with said results that she said she would be sending, but told by him instead that she called to tell him that she did not want me back there and that if I want the results I had to get them from him. I want to stress that I was nothing but polite and was explaining that I was baffled as to why I was not contacted to be involved in all that took place since I am the one who handles his education and prior to the assessment my son's conditions which include dyslexia and A.D.H.D were not even considered as the father did not share that nor has he had anything to do with our son's education leading up to this day. I explained that he is not going to be the one who is liable to get me the results that it would be her, but still has not happened and what I got from Dad was marked up by him stating that my son who is in 5th grade tested at Kindergarten level there and I informed her of him stating such and had numerous pages missing etc. Why would I need to get them from the other parent who never informed me of the entire ordeal? So as I am leaving I tried to obtain the director of the facility info and she said that was her. I said well give me somebody in charge information and I want a copy of the policies for the center regarding parent involvement and awareness. She said she was it and that it was a franchise and doubled down on a previous statement that whoever pays gets the results....and furthermore that could be ANYONE who brings the child in without the parental guardians knowledge. It was asked if her oh so anyone such as a neighbor an aunt etc. just anyone with the money and she stated YES and to date has refused to give me my child's records and results. I even said during the interaction that if he is struggling with anything that I might as well take advantage of the fact that he sat for hours and was tested and speak further about getting him help if needed. Well no way will I ever deal with this facility again. It is clearly about money and I will be seeking remedies for the actions of Tori. I will add that Cami who proctored my son's assessment was completely professional and courteous when I spoke with her in a lengthy phone call when I first found out about this and called to inquire about specifics. She was so polite and helpful and should be the head of the facility because she should be the representative instead of the mess I was met with upon arriving at the center only after I was never contacted by Tori after the call with Cami who informed me that Tori was who I had to speak with for the results. I hope you all get a chance to heed my warning and go to a facility where they abide by there own policy, are transparent, follow the laws, and are making sure that custodial parents are not only informed but involved in things as important as this. I am so disgusted by Tori and her actions as a mother I can say that I would never recommend any parent use this location. I have sent a message in hopes of reaching the owners Andrea and Peter Bourgault to let them know just how their center is being ran and they should find a replacement expeditiously for the integrity of their business. Also just to add my son was tested elsewhere since I could never obtain the results and received falsified documents from the other parent and he is right on track with his learning at his grade level which is something I already knew but wanted to ensure this in case Sylvan wanted to state any time later after I take necessary actions to get these results anything different. Never allow a place that makes money from tutoring to gauge whether your child needs it or not. I want you to think about that before you put your child's educational needs in somebody else's hands especially ones who will gain monetarily and whose sole business it is for your child to NEED their services. Use an independent assessment outlet and then choose where you want to get tutoring. I will give updates on this review as I proceed with actions necessary to now remedy this situation.

In addition to one-on-one instruction, our classes move through different hands-on creative learning stations. We also use lots of praise and bubbles!
