I recently came here for a Lunar New Year event, so it looked really packed because of the event itself. But it was spacious and parking was pretty decent. Lots of uncovered parking outside. It will get hot if it's a sunny day, and if you're walking further away from the parking lot, prepare for a warmer walk. With a few good dining options inside, I think that probably would make it worthy of a return visit to The District.

Likes: + Variety of restaurants and shops. + Pleasant promenade between shops and restaurants. Appreciation: I used to complain about the lack of entrances/exits into this parking lot. Over the years, thankfully they have added one to slightly streamline outgoing traffic. In recent years they've added an exit leading into alley that leads out onto Barranca Pkwy. Non-likes: - Bad traffic. Many entitled drivers cut the wait at the stop intersections. Drive slowly and be careful. - Sometimes pedestrians cross without looking both ways first.

Whether you're craving poke, burger, or a smoothie, this plaza has it. + HUGE parking lot. + Numerous entrances/exits. Makes for smooth traffic flow. + Never too crowded. + Located just down the street from Veterans Sports Park. Very convenient for me in between my athletic sessions. + I have also picked up fruit from the Stater Bros here to share with my pickleball friends at Vets. Non-likes: - The road geography around here is a lil weird. If you're at the Valencia Ave & Tustin Ranch Rd intersection, and you somehow accidentally go north on Tustin Ranch Rd, too bad. There won't be a left turn or U-turn at Edinger Ave, because these two streets don't meet. You have to continue until you reach Walnut Ave to find a detour back. A lil inconvenient.

The important thing to know is that if you come during the holidays or on a weekend, it will be busy. The good thing is, as long as you don't mind parking on the very upper levels and walking a bit, I've always been able to find parking. But if you don't like walking at all, this probably isn't the center for you, and there's a lot of walking if you want to explore everything! What I love about this center is that you have everything from Nordstrom to Target, literally! You can find some very unique restaurants, along with typical chains, so there's something for everyone. We'll occasionally see a movie here as well, but that's another review. What impresses me the most is how well-maintained and clean everything is. Even the elevators in the parking garages are graffiti-free, which is very unusual. Now, not all the locations have maintained their interiors as well, but that's on them and not the Irvine Spectrum. My favorite time to come is still in December. We've always found the night atmosphere to have a lot of great energy. And yes, there are a lot of teens who hang around and have loud fun; they're harmless and add to the energy.

A great walking mall...a gathering place for Central OC…read more... There are a lot that are new and changes. A new Apple Store, a Columbia store and a Nike store. On the weekend there are simply more people. The first mall in America with a Nordstrom and a Target. One of the first mall with a 20 plex movie theater. Now it is a Regal--no longer an Edward. The changes keeps happening, but it is always filled with shops--no empty, open space. I like to walk my nephew's dogs here. They like it here as well. Everyone is happy. Ray out!

My favorite is the swiss chocolate store and the Le Shrimp Noodles House. It's pricey but worth it! Come check it out and bring your whole family and enjoy the trotting and photo shooting while windows shopping, you might find something when you least expected . It has a Carrousel on the first floor for kids to ride for a fee. Parking is usually available at different sides of the Mall.

South Coast Plaza has redeemed itself form the hideous Christmas Tree they had a few years ago…read more It's still one of the nicest indoor malls in Southern California, and on a hot day, it's a nice reprise from the heat. It's rare for a mall these to not have empty store fronts. While South Coast Plaza has a lot of "coming soon" store fronts, the store fronts that say "Some special coming soon" are very rare, and are mostly in the Macy's Home Store Wing, but even that is almost full. The one thing I had to put on the review is that South Coast Plaza has the nicest restrooms! They're almost high-end resort level. They are well kept and very clean. The garage for paper towels can sometimes overflow, but that's super minor. I don't use it, but they have a really nice family lounge as well.

The selection of stores are very mall-typical (Zara, Claire's, etc) but the standout is for sure the Round One! The service there is relatively good, the nicest employee I met worked at the piercing kiosk, she was really sweet. They also have cute displays for photo shoots and tons of photo ops if you're visiting.

I used to visit SOCO for the waffle store on the corner or the Shucks Oyster bar. Now the chocolate or red velvet cupcakes from Susiecakes draw me in. Portola Coffee is still the longstanding purveyor of fine caffeinated drinks. We Olive bar has a bevy of beverages. Palm and Patties burgers is a favorite of my foodie coworkers and me. Then we frequent Sunright, the boba tea shop.
