Beer placards affixed to the walls with an out of place five foot tall orange gorilla holding a huge bottle of Dom Perignon over his head. No reservations permitted but got seated immediately. This is the place to go for a cheap happy hour and big hamburgers. Ordered the Big Smokey Bacon Burger with well done onion rings. I must say, the burger was absolutely delicious and the cold craft beer complemented it perfectly. The gender neutral bathroom was clean and fit the dive bar mold with an array of stickers covering the paper towel dispensor with black chalk boards wrapped around the walls. Lots of strange chalk designs but could not find the piece of chalk to leave my mark. For some odd reason half the toilet paper case was on the floor. The gray porcelain floor and wall tiles gave the shabby room a modern twist. Fun place with great burgers and an attitude.

Double roads and funky biscuit and many other music venues around this neighborhood, between Boca and Jupiter, have actual bands playing actual musical instruments. So if you're interested in that, you might want to go elsewhere. I don't really come here for the music. I sort of come here too just watch the interesting array of characters that pop inside. And just to relax while having a drink. The music is OK though. I guess it's better than just listening to TouchTunes. And some of the Fake musicians do put on a good show. The biggest problem with the spot is the attitude of the bartenders. I'm not saying that they're bad people. But they're really not happy. And the odd thing is, having lived in Santa Barbara and many other beach towns, it's a rare thing to live in such a beautiful place or working in one at least, and be so pissed off. Particularly when you're young. So I don't know what their problem is, but I think whoever owns this place should take them on a field trip or something. I grabbed a spot at the bar and tried to get a drink. There was one gal bartending, and maybe 15 people hanging out. She had some patrons or friends that she was talking to. In between she was organizing a few things. It was almost 10 minutes of waiting to see if she would walk over mt way or make eye contact but no such luck. Their was some political talk goign on and a small aroma, maybe the bar mats, but I was about done waiting. I'm sure I'll give it another shot sometime, as this trip was a strike out as I finally left.

A mixed crowd, from early 20s to all the way up. Not a sketchy place, anyone should feel comfortable. Admittedly, my low water mark for a dive bar is my requirement that they have proper paper towels in the washroom. Past reviews of mine bring this up. To me there are very few things worse than walking out of the washroom finishing drying my hands on my pants! ;-) In this case, I make an exception (truly my first) because everything else was great. That said, when a place earns it, I'm more than happy to say so. For me, The Duck Tavern really starts with the bartenders. Leli and Ali have a way of turning a simple beer into a whole experience. You sit down planning to have one drink, and before you know it you're enjoying the atmosphere, the conversation, and the vibe of the place. The bar itself is fun, welcoming, and stocked with all kinds of beers and drinks you don't always find at a typical neighborhood spot. Personally, I love that they always have ice-cold Moosehead ready to go--credit to the owner for that. Love the hardcore beer placards fastended to the walls but the beer coolers were surely the focal point of the room. Nice covered patio overlooking the sidewalk with more beer decor. The gender neutral bathroom was clean with a continued beer placard decor and an unexpected modern look.
