We came in for a taste. All in all, small beer selection, great atmosphere and friendly service. Like others have said, quaint place with a rustic/industrial vibe. Flight of beers -- German Pils, Belgian Witbier, Schwarz (black) Lager, Maple Rye Belgian Dark. My dad and I came in with both having very different style preferences in beer taste, but decided on four to try together. We were both in love with the dark color but light and refreshing flavor profile of the Schwarz lager, but disappointed in the lack of maple in the Maple Rye. It was too sweet without being maple forward and alcohol-y tasting. Others were decent but nothing to write home about.

Nice little spot in downtown La Crosse. There's plenty of seats for cozy interchanges with friends. There's a bit of an industrial vibe matched with rustic wooden table tops. I love that there's succulents on every table! It can get loud the more patrons come in but in a fun, lively way. Love the music - old country, mostly Dolly's pipes singing the blues as we drink away! They have a nice selection of good craft beer. I had the cask Black Ale and it was a nice dark beer with hints of maple and cinnamon. The bartenders are really friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. They, along with the beer, make me want to come back!

Nice brewery with a nice selection of craft beers. Waitstaff was friendly and knows their beer. Could use more IPA styles but it sounds like they have a neat seasonal cycle.

Stopped in yesterday.... very inviting, comfortable digs. Never being before I asked if they did flights? They do not, but they offer half pint pours! ....good enough for me!! A Belgian fan...and trying to expand my palate to IPA's I started w a taste of the Belgian DIPA...it was delish!! Very well balanced and more Belgian than piny and bitter!! In the times of everyone adding anything they can to beers I opted for the Robust Porter... can I just say how refreshing it was to have just a normal beer... not fruity or marshmallowy?! I love that stuff & huge sour fan but this beer... it hit the spot!! Then I saw three words I like all jammed together so I had to try the Honey Jalapeno Scotch Ale... I'll be honest... i didn't expect to taste the jalapeno but there it was on the back end...just a little bite after the sweet hit you... again very well done. So.... Turtle Stack...what can I say.... these beers combined w your sweet digs and your oh so awesome friendly staff.... my palate and I are both in love. I look forward to future stops through town so I can taste other offerings... whilst chatting up your lovely informative staff!! Thanks and cheers Turtle Stack!!

Some of the best craft brew I've ever had. I've not found one that I don't like. Quality clean place and they let you order in.

A really great new brewery. Nice open interior, good music level and selection to complement the excellent brews. The ESB is fantastic.

This little brewery has only been around a few months, as I was told by the brewtenders, but it has already gained quite a following.

She helped me build a flight and gave me two samples of beers that piqued my interest... Spruce-A-Lool and Shitty Lyte Beer. Of the five bees I tasted... all were wonderfully delicious. As I exclaimed about the Spruce-A-Lootel "it's not offensive like I assumed and was pleasantly palatable". The Shitty Lyte beer I expected to taste like a regular domestic... had a little..something to it, I can't describe it, but a little punch. Jenna was attentive and funny my whole visit despite the bar filling up w customers. All the customers were equally as funny as we all talked and joked. Don't skip past Pearl Street and your directions are correct when it reads to take a left in to what looks like an apartment parking lot... you go the short distance past that to Pearl Street. I liked that the brewery really covered your palate with light to hoppy to malty and flavorful. I really enjoyed the Siberian Disco Toasted Stout and Java Lava Coffee Stout. I also enjoyed my Old Fashioned, they have a menu of cocktails as well. I definitely won't be waiting another four years for my third stop in to Pearl Street. Thanks Jenna for an afternoon of delicious beer over laughter and brewery styles and beers, cheers!

Dinner was really good overall and good wine list and service. Soups and salad all came out with the meals and the salad is massive! Breakfast service was a bit uneven, but food came out fast and was very good. Love that they have reasonably priced breakfast options. I got the Dynamite Chicken Sandwich. It was good, but I expected more of a blast of flavor. My wife got the Cranberry Pork chop and said it was amazing! Great Brussels Sprouts on the side. Her side salad was huge and very fresh. My daughter got the Bourbon Salmon and loved it as well. Her side was Wild Rice Soup that was also amazing. For breakfast my wife and I both got 2 eggs and toast. They were very good. They do drown the toast in butter. So be ready for that! Overall we had good experiences and would gladly go back.

Breakfast was awesome. The omelette was delicious and nicely presented. Dinner is what prevented me from giving five stars. We did an order to pick up for our room. The salmon and veggies were really overcooked and they didn't include the salad (which I did go back down and get) but, the food preparation definitely could have been better. But the staff were very friendly!

I admit that there is this uptight component of the constitution that makes me the unique person that I am. Whether it be after a hard day of working my backside off, time spent in traffic, or whatever life throws in my path; I prefer to unwind with a bullet beer. In beer parlance a bullet beer is a 24 ounce can or 32 ounce bottle. My bullet beer of choice is Bud Ice and Miller High Life. However, on the days when I shop at a Walmart Supercenter that has run out of my bullet beer of choice there is usually the City Brewery brewed Rockdale Light on their shelf. Following Walmart's mantra of "Save money and Live Better," it currently goes for $1.26 a can. This is the exact price that a 25 ounce Bud Ice cost a few years back. Taste: How does a 24 ounce of light beer taste that costs $1.25 nearly half the price of Miller Light at $2.17? The key word is" light." " Light" beer is the equivalent of diet soda. In my opinion the taste of the City Brewery brewed Rockdale Light is at the halfway point of vomit (as in Earthquake beer or Hurricane) and cream (Corona and Heinekin). It is without a doubt drinkable. I appreciate that it does not have a strong taste. The taste is lemony, in my humble opinion. Influence on the brain: Disparite from strong beer such as Bud Ice or Steel Reserve, Rockdale Light has a very subtle influence on me when I drink it. I feel in control. It doesn't leave me drowsy or slightly buzzed like some of the strong bullet beer does. Again, this is a light beer. However I would not get behind the wheel or write a review under its subtle influence. It is a subtle influence that relaxes me while I visit the cyber world through the computer, listen to a podcast, enjoy music, or other form of enjoyment. It is hard to believe that it has a 4.2 alcohol content. Final words: Rockdale Light is not my beer of choice. However when the Walmart Supercenter runs out of my bullet beer of choice, the 24 ounce Rockdale Light has been the right plan B. At $1.26 price point, Walmart shoppers might need a "plan c" when I buy it out. Buying it out is an exaggeration. Nevertheless, I will buy a couple. It is nice to have a can or two of bullet beer in the fridgein case I run out or had a really rotton day where I could use two bullet size light beers. In conclusion, Rockdale Light is a 3 star light beer that gets the job done.

I work for the brewery as a temp. It is a good place to work with a laid back work enviroment…read more Good people and a very good place to work.

Their Rockdale Light is not bad for an inexpensive beer that you can currently buy in a 24 ounce can at Walmart for $1.26.
