As long as you're not staying in Room 204, this hotel is fantastic. Stayed one night in Room 204, and then the staff was kind enough to move us to a remodeled room (102), so this review is broken down into two mini reviews for Room 204 and Room 102. Room 204 (all pictures attached are of Room 204): We booked a week here for a family beach vacation. The hotel's website says the hotel is undergoing renovations, and that the guests will be placed in areas away from the construction. This is not the case. Room 204 is directly next to the units undergoing stucco renovations, and the jackhammering and noise was bad throughout the day. Even worse, the dust from the construction covered our balcony and furniture, and there was zero privacy from the construction workers less than 10 feet away working all day. It's one thing for the hotel's website to advise guests that the hotel is undergoing repairs, but to say that guests will be situated away from the repairs is simply not true. To cap it off, Room 204 was one of the filthiest rooms I've ever stayed in. Even if that was the very last room available, it never should have been sold to a guest. It looked like an autopsy had been performed on the carpet in the living room. Multiple large stains, dirty and stained furniture, visible black mold on the walls, broken ceiling panels, filthy appliances and fan blades, and it looked like the AC filter hadn't been changed in years (see pictures of the above). Simply awful. This hotel would've been a 1 Star had the front desk staff not accommodated my request to move into a clean room further away from the construction after a night in Room 204. They did (thank you Jessica I think her name was), and it made the rest of the week excellent and 5 Stars. Room 102: Clean, nice tile floors throughout, and even though it was a ground floor unit where you can't see the beach/breaking shore waves (you can see the ocean), it was far enough away from the construction that it was barely noticeable, and only during business hours. The location is right on the beach, large two bed two bathroom units which are great for families with kids who get their own room with separate beds and their own TV, large balconies with plenty of furniture, and just a short walk across the grounds to the ocean. The hotel's pool is nice, but it seemed that they had the solar heater (as advertised on the website) on even in the middle of summer, so by the time the later afternoon comes around, the pool is almost as hot as a hot tub, and definitely not a refreshing way to end a day at the beach as you'd like, but otherwise it was clean and never really crowded. They also have tennis courts with lights and shuffleboard courts, and a couple great local restaurants within a half mile (Magic Oyster and Harvest Table are both excellent). As long as you don't stay in Room 204 (unless it gets remodeled), this is a great family experience.

What a great place to stay, we got the two bedroom and the porch was absolutely huge. It was overlooking the ocean, the room were very big and the living room and dining room were spacious too . I will definitely return.

This place is fantastic! I love everything about it. It's definitely one of the nicest resorts I've ever stayed at. It's right on the beach, with amazing views of the ocean from both the patio and the front door. You can hear the waves day and night, which is soothing. There's a covered walkway and elevator which leads to a beach boardwalk. So many things here seem to have been recently updated. There's new paint inside and out, new furniture, lovely pictures, ample bedding, a variety of kitchen dishes, utensils and cookware, even high quality soaps and soft towels. There were fun events planned all week including a cookout by the pool, mini spa treatment (small fee for these but worth it), and welcome reception with free donuts. Everything is exceptionally clean! The condo is tidy, including the hallways, elevator, office, pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard area, exterior bathrooms, and beach boardwalk the staff is so friendly! They've been so helpful and polite, it's made me feel welcome. Any little thing we need is taken care of right away. They've checked out equipment to us, helped us reserve the spa treatment, provided snacks, even cane within minutes to make the sliding glass door easier to open. When a guest commented the heated pool was not warm enough, staff raised the temperature and checked back with guests to make sure it was to their liking. Only downsides are that the fridge is older and has a few rust spots on the outside (but functions perfectly, this is just cosmetic), and there were repairs being conducted next door which caused some noise. Overall this is a wonderful beach resort, and I highly recommend staying here.

I've heard the event used to be held at a different venue, but many people seem thrilled with the move to this location. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. You really can't go wrong with an event held near the water, even if you don't get a direct view since there's no actual windows upstairs(that I've noticed). The space is elegant, well-designed, and consistently organized to perfection each year. Everything runs smoothly, from valet parking at the entrance to easy access via stairs or elevator. The second floor is mostly hallways with large ballrooms throughout, making it easy to navigate between spaces. Overall, it's always such a fun and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a special event or function--you won't be disappointed.

The only availability they had was for Saturday morning at 9 am for 60 minutes. I agreed and made the booking. I asked if we would have access to the other amenities at the spa and they informed that it was a small spa, but you could have access to the pools. The day of the massages we arrived early to fill out paperwork, changed and sat in the relaxation room until it was time for our appointment. They did offer us complimentary water, tea, and cookies. I think at 9 am they could have offered light breakfast pastries instead of cookies and brownies as I know they serve breakfast upstairs. When it was time for the massages, they put my husband and I in separate rooms. I was under the impression that booking a couples massage we would be in the same room. The massages themself were nothing impressive. The staff outside the room were pretty noisy sounded like they were stocking things and talking. Someone even walked into my husband's room during his massage. When we went to check out the person checking us out looked like she might have been training, but she was also not the most pleasant. A 20% gratuity is already included so we paid almost $400. for 2 60-minute massages that were just mid. Not worth the price especially when they don't have any other amenities to offer besides the pool.

We were hoping for a 3:00 check-in but the room wasn't ready until almost 4:30. We were about to head up to the room when the elevator went on the fritz. The repair company was called and we finally got in the room around 7:30. We are on the fifth floor facing the ocean. The view is fabulous and the breeze heavenly. The sun setting was stunning and the full moon was bright and illuminating I'm hoping to see the turtles arrive tonight. The hotel staff is burying the seaweed so the guests on the beach don't have to endure the seaweed on the beach. This is quite the added touch they provide for their guests who are enjoying the lounge chairs etc they can rent. All in all, this is a lovely location and the rooms appear to be updated and renovated. The furniture is comfy and the beds are great. I am staying in the second room that has twin beds and they are just right with firmness. The pool is nice and there is a hot tub and recreational area to utilize. And of course, lots of tables all over to use if you want to sit out and enjoy the fresh air. They have barbecue grills too. We stopped at the grocery store and purchased provisions prior to arrival so we are set. They have a great kitchen in the unit with everything you need for cooking and plenty of dishes and items for cooking. If your looking for a getaway check this place out but book quickly as they were 100 percent occupied.

We understand the property is undergoing an impressive transformation from its former Club Med days, and it's clear that a great deal of work has already been invested. Most of the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and we left feeling optimistic about the resort's future. One of the highlights of our stay was the food and all inclusive amenities. The main dining hall offered a wide variety of fresh, flavorful options throughout the day, and we were consistently impressed with the quality. The food at the box car stations--especially the tacos and burger offerings--was phenomenal. The drinks were also excellent, and overall the experience exceeded our expectations. During our stay, I had the opportunity to share a few suggestions directly with one of the assistant managers: * Coffee availability: It would be wonderful if coffee were available overnight or before the café opens at 6:45 AM. Many guests are early risers, and having access to coffee before sunrise would be a much-appreciated convenience. * Ice water availability: While there are water stations throughout the property, the water is not chilled. During the Florida summer, readily available iced water is almost a necessity, particularly during the period between breakfast ending and the bars opening. We also reported an issue with the air conditioning in our two-bedroom suite (Room B134) to the front desk. Unfortunately, the concern was simply acknowledged without much discussion. The front bedroom receives very little airflow because of the extremely small air vents, making it difficult to keep the room comfortable in the Florida heat. We discovered that partially closing the vent in the main living area redirected enough airflow to noticeably improve the temperature in the bedroom. This suggests the system could likely benefit from balancing or redesigning the airflow. I hope management will consider addressing this issue, as it would significantly improve guest comfort in these suites. There were also a few operational areas that deserve attention: * Pool rule enforcement: The infinity pool has clearly posted rules at the entrance, but they were not being followed or enforced. Throughout our stay we observed children of all ages--including babies and teenagers--in the adults-only area, guests bringing pets inside the gated pool area, and people entering the pool with drinks. The rules themselves seem reasonable, but they lose their purpose if no one monitors or enforces them. * Pets: Some guests allowed their dogs to roam without leashes outdoors. The dogs were huge. I'm not sure, but I think they may have been mastiffs, easily as big as I am and I considered them a threat to my little 9 pound Yorkie. I'm not sure if the Resort has a leash policy or not, but if it does, better enforcement would help ensure everyone's safety and comfort. * Solara Bar operations: The Solara Bar should consistently open at its posted opening time. During busy weekends and holidays, one bartender simply isn't enough. Adding a second bartender--or even a nearby satellite service station--would greatly reduce wait times and improve the guest experience. The one issue that concerned us most involved food safety in the buffet. On more than one occasion, we observed children serving themselves without adult supervision. They piled up their plate with bacon and other things, leaving, almost none for other guests, but the most concerning incident involved two young girls repeatedly picking up strawberries with their hands, dropping them onto the floor, and then placing the strawberries back into the serving bowl for other guests. While children will naturally be children, this creates an obvious food safety concern. I would strongly encourage the resort to require children to be accompanied by an adult at the buffet and to have staff periodically monitor the serving areas. Even simple signage reminding guests to use the serving utensils and supervise children would go a long way toward maintaining sanitation. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. The improvements already made to Sandpiper Bay are evident, and the resort has tremendous potential. The quality of the food, drinks, and overall atmosphere made for a memorable vacation. Most of our suggestions involve operational details rather than major shortcomings, and we hope they are received in the constructive spirit intended. Addressing these items would elevate what is already a very good resort into an exceptional one. We look forward to seeing how Sandpiper Bay continues to evolve.

There is access to more than one pool within the larger property (someone else mentioned this as well in their review) and fitness center. You do have to travel a ways to find shopping/restaurants (outside of the two contained in the property), but that didn't bother us in the least. We came to be with family & the beach, and with a full kitchen (and lots of kitchen supplies), we didn't need much else. The only negative is that the front desk is not well staffed. The one staff member we met was really helpful in person, but we called and left messages twice and never received a call back. On the second day the upstairs toilet started leaking and dripping in the downstairs bathroom from the ceiling. Since the front desk is deffffinitely not 24-hours (and the book says there is an answering service, which there is not...at least not during this time of year), we left a message. On the other hand, when we called the maintenance number shortly thereafter, we had an immediate response. Our toilet was replaced within 2 hours. They also want to nickel and dime you for every misstep. When have you heard of a hotel charging $20 for every beach towel that isn't left back in the room (the beach towels they provide are probably worth $4) and $20 for the community room key. They also want to charge you $100 for any additional time the cleaner has to spend in your room, and they require you to remove the sheets, take the trash/recycling, load the dishwasher and turn it on before you leave. Little strict on those types of policies...I'm just not used to that. All in all, this was a wonderful experience for my family. I wouldn't trade it.
