Natchez Trace Rv Park

Beautiful little campground tucked just a few miles out of town. We passed through just for one…read morenight. We checked in after dark and the owner guides us into our site and was more than helpful and super friendly. We had 50amp, water and sewer all at our site. In the morning we got a better look at the grounds and realized how pretty it was. Nice established trees, a beautiful pond and well kept grounds. Very relaxing and the owner and his wife were super sweet and friendly.

The owners were friendly upon arrival. Easy access into the camp, nice wide entrance road. The camp…read moreis very well kept, the permanent sites are clean. There are two ponds with a family of Geese that add to the charm of this place. Very quite. Most lots are about average size, with the spacing a little close on some. Ask for spot 5, it is the best one - your door opens to a large grassy area with no neighbor on that side. Lots of trees for shade and with the 100-degree temps we were thankful for that. Sites are gravel, but level and include a picnic table. Water pressure was good and we had 50 amp with sewer hookup. Long enough for our 37-foot RV and tow-dolly. There is no WiFi (would have gave 5 stars except for this) and our Verizon service had 3-bars at best but our hotspot worked okay. The laundry room is a small log cabin that is a little dusty, with only one of each machine, so don't leave a lot of laundry to do here. You pay on the honor system, they are not coin machines. There is a nice nature trail and they have a small pool, but only a couple of chairs around it. They accept both Good Sam and Pass Port American, but we paid the weekly rate of 23.58 a night. We stayed July 4-11, 2016. You are 7-miles south of Tupelo, birthplace of Elvis, if you are eating out go to Kermit's Outlaw Restaurant, great farm to table food.

Big Hill Pond State Park

Big Hill Pond State Park

The…read morestate park surrounding the land is over 4,000 acres of land which has marshland, timberland, and other natural resources. The park offers horse trails, bike trails, two picnic pavilions, boating, fishing, paddling, 28 primitive campsites, a visitor's center, and an observation tower. There's over 30 miles of trails, including the Azalea Spring Day Loop (2.95 mi), the Big Hill Pond Access Trail (0.30 mi), the Big Hill Pond Trail (4.75 mi), the Dogwood Point Trail (3.10 mi), the Dry Ridge Trail (2.85 mi), the Fox Hollow Trail (.65 mi), the Horse (& Mtn Bike) Trail (6.0 mi), the Rocky Knob Trail (2.40 mi), the Turkey Call Trail (2.45 mi), and the Tuscumbia Trail (2.30 mi). They also offer rentals of kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards in the summer. When we went, the trail to the observation tower was out of pocket due to flooding, so we definitely want to go back.

Fantastic state park under two hours from Memphis! The park…read moreis underused, which is great because you have a lot of privacy! The trails are decently marked and there are over 30 miles to be hiked of varying difficulty. The observation tower is worth seeing and the trail to get there isn't terribly long. Camp sites are a little close to each other but I don't think it's ever busy here so it's a mute point. Bathrooms are the cleanest I've seen in a TN state park!! You have to use wood from the park and there is plenty of it, but bring a hatchet, you'll need it to split the big pieces! The staff were also very welcoming! Park is horse and pet friendly! I will be visiting again soon!!

The campground offers over 60 sites, plus six cozy cabins. Three of these are rustic stone cabins with two rooms each, while the other three are smaller, single-room cabins. Cabin Six has been beautifully updated with new floors, furniture, appliances, and a modern bathroom. For larger groups, the park also has three group camp cabins--each with 20 bunk beds and spacious bathrooms that include showers, toilets, and sinks. The park is full of history and adventure. Visitors can explore the Pioneer Cabin and its nearby waterfall, or cross the famous swinging bridge--a suspension bridge that stretches 25 feet over Bear Creek. On the other side, you'll find two trails perfect for bouldering, rock climbing, or simply wandering through the forest. Wildlife is abundant, with deer, squirrels, raccoons, and plenty of other critters calling the park home. There are three scenic pavilions for picnics or gatherings. Pavilion One has restrooms nearby, Pavilion Two overlooks Haines Lake, and Pavilion Three also offers a beautiful view of the water. The dining hall is available for weddings, reunions, meetings, and other special events. Fishing enthusiasts will love the three fishing spots: Haines Lake, a quiet pond behind the Pioneer Cabin, and Bear Creek beneath the swinging bridge. For families, the park includes two playgrounds, a sports field, and plenty of picnic tables with cast-iron grills scattered throughout. Outdoor fun continues with three disc golf courses designed for different skill levels. And when it's time to clean up, the campground features two bathhouses that are always kept tidy by the hardworking park staff. Tishomingo State Park is more than just a destination--it's a place where history, nature, and community come together.

Beautiful park. Stayed in cabin 6. Updated and well kept. Doesn't feel like Mississippi at all here.read more

That's important to us because hubby works remotely and need good wifi for conference calls. We were not disappointed, their wifi is pretty good and fast. However when the park is full, wifi seemed slow down a bit in the evenings because all coaches are back from services. It's a nice RV park compares to other RV parks in the area. It's well maintained, nice landscaping, a pond with fountain and lighting in the night. Daily trash pick ups. All sites have concrete pad, a picnic table (standard sites), a fire ring (premium sites), 50 amp, FHU. All sites are back in with pond view. Road is paved and wide. Not gated. Good size dog park in the front of the exit, there's water bowls inside the dog park, one for taller dogs, one for smaller dogs. You can pump the water in the bowls anytime, so no need to worry about no water. Very thoughtful! All pets and the owners appreciate it. Also provide doggy bags. There's covered seating on two corners, another thoughtful idea. The staffs are friendly. Due to the uniqueness of people coming here, almost every coach here is Tiffin and they all come to Red Bay for services, the service schedule might change, the park takes it into consideration and offers no cancellation policy. That's unheard of! We made reservations online. I called to reconfirm the reservations the next day. Judy, the lady I talked to on the phone is very friendly. Knowing we are there for service, she initiatively offered the option of reserving few more nights (without paying out front) because we might schedule more services when we are here. And, she was right! We had to stay couple more days for the services! She's very familiar with the whole situation and nice enough to mention it to us, so we don't have to move to other lot or ended up no lot to stay. The park was filled up during our extended stay! We loved to walk around the park with our dog, just very relaxing. There's a pickle ball court. A general store in the office. No public shower facilities. No laundry room, which is inconvenient for us because we don't have washer and dryer in our coach. We had to use a filthy coin laundry mat in town. We still think it's totally worth the extra money to stay here! If we ever come back to Red Bay, this is the only park we will stay.
