I simply love old places with history so this was right up my alley! The Como Inn is a full featured experience. Fully stocked with wonderful food, in an old building with multiple super comfy rooms. Check in/check out times are flexible which I also found as a nice Southern touch! Just use your manners. :-) The owners are just good, kind southern folk. If I didn't have to be in the wedding, I would have been just fine sitting out on the back great patio and shooting the sh*t with them. One thing to note, there is a long, shotgun staircase up to the room level so be aware of that should you have elderly or other similar needs. I consider myself old in my 50s and it is indeed a haul, but waits for you at the top of the stairs is an awesome experience! As far as the nearbys... plenty of food options from pub grub to Thia and Mexican and a steak house that clearly must be something because there were a line of people a block long wanting to get in there! There's also a store a few blocks up with all your basic needs including alcohol. I honestly wish we would have had more than one night and a rushed schedule as I could see myself spending an entire weekend trip there just to chill and we plan to do just that. A simple and wonderful experience!

With a nominal fuel purchase from the airport, we weren't charged a ramp parking fee, making such fly-ins a bit more affordable. The airport offered a sole courtesy car that was available on a first come, first serve basis. (I believe that there's still a two hour time limit on the use of the car.). We'd hop in the car, go grab a meal somewhere in Oxford, then get back into our aircraft, and be on our way. The staff was always professional, and offered free drinks, snacks, and ice. We always timed our flights to Oxford for non-game days (college) to avoid the inevitable congestion at the airport and town. A lot a people fly in for games. Fun times! (There no commercial passenger service available at this airport.)

We found Roundabout Resort through Pinterest, listed as one of the top 20 RV parks with a lazy river. We travel full time so finding these kinds of parks on a map is a special treat, we had no idea how special Roundabout was going to be! The lazy river was our favorite part, it was truly a lazy river, just floating slowly and easily around the water park, no waterfalls to dodge, buckets of water dumping on you or out of control rapids, just a nice lazy river! There's even a swim up bar open on Fri. thru Sun, we got to enjoy that part for two of our days!! If you go, get the Philly Steak sandwich at the snack bar, it's pretty darned good along with the waffle fries! Book a stay at the RV park or in a cottage, you won't be disappointed.

For a nice hotel I was incredibly dissappointed with the bath linens. Towels and a bath mat that you would find from the cheapest budget hotel ever, truly awful. Bed was very, very soft, comfy but not supportive. TV? No instructions, no piece of paper in a nightstand or anywhere, called the front desk, the young man was super pleasant but had no idea of how to operate the TV. There is no info anywhere as to when and where you can get coffee (turns out it's hidden in a corner on the first floor), no information other than a plastic frame advertising the restaurant and upper bar with no hours, no menu,,, you get it. The young man kindly offered to have maintenance come to the room to show me how to operate the TV - no way, already showered and in pjs, and did not want someone coming in to mansplain to me how to operate a TV!!!!!!! TV is ancient, poor remote that is not hardly working. This is not a comfortable hotel, it feels cheap, they took the 'graduate thing way too far, there's no where to get a bottled water or complimentary coffee, no fruit anywhere (even the cheapest hotels offer a basket of apples or something), and for a hotel with their price? DO BETTER. This is a self park, bring in your own luggage, uncomfortable overpriced hotel. All of the seating in the lobby is overtaken by students who allowed to study at the hotel. Needs a refresh, for sure. Removing the carpet and putting down new floors would give some life into this room! More lighting would help as well. The bathroom is old and in much need of an overhaul!! Water pressure was almost non-existent. It felt like I was showering with just a trickle of water. But, still grateful I had one to use after a long day of moving boxes and furniture. I would definitely stay here again. I just now know to expect mediocre rooms. The pictures on the website make the rooms look much bigger, brighter, and newer. The lobby is beautiful and the outside of the building is beautiful as well.
