We stayed in the Love room for two nights and everything was fresh and clean. Mary Kelley made a delicious breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls, country sausage, and fresh fruit on Saturday, and while we had breakfast plans elsewhere the second morning, the smell of the bacon she was cooking for the other guests was wonderful! The house is just minutes from The Square and just about anything else you could need while visiting. All in all this was an amazing experience and we can't wait to plan our next visit already!

Needs a refresh, for sure. Removing the carpet and putting down new floors would give some life into this room! More lighting would help as well. The bathroom is old and in much need of an overhaul!! Water pressure was almost non-existent. It felt like I was showering with just a trickle of water. But, still grateful I had one to use after a long day of moving boxes and furniture. I would definitely stay here again. I just now know to expect mediocre rooms. The pictures on the website make the rooms look much bigger, brighter, and newer. The lobby is beautiful and the outside of the building is beautiful as well. Upon arrival to my room I noticed the bed sheets were a little dirty. It kinda grossed me out but I've heard that hotels don't clean the bedsheets, which now looking back, is probably expected for a hotel like this. It was when I went into the bathroom I found pube hairs on the towels and on the toilet seat. I guess the cleaning staff don't have the effort to switch up the sheets or bathroom towels, let alone cleaning the toilet seat. Not to mention I did not see a single staff member going around, checking up on rooms with their little caddy of cleaning supplies/sheets/towels. If you're looking for a low budget hotel to stay in Oxford, this is the place to go, but you get what you pay for.

We made a reservation even though the price seemed high ($100 per person or $300 for the "cabin"). The owner did not meet us but told us over the phone how to find the cabin. A friend of the owner showed us the way and told us to expect wonderful breakfast. "Homemade cinnamon rolls are always part of it." We went out to dinner. W hen we got home, we called the owner to inquire about breakfast and were told "the cabin doesn't come with breakfast." She was annoyed that we expected it, though she advertises a bed and breakfast. We found the experience a disappointment and certainly not what we were looking for.

During the summer, Oak Hill Stables hosts a riding camp for girls, and they make this bunkhouse their home. During the rest of the year, it is available for retreats and special occasions. It boasts original works of art from wood craftsmen of Oxford and pews from the Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. The doors, constructed like stall doors, hold the nameplates of many of the original foundation horses of the farm. The lovely woodwork and craftsmanship create an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.
