I simply love old places with history so this was right up my alley! The Como Inn is a full featured experience. Fully stocked with wonderful food, in an old building with multiple super comfy rooms. Check in/check out times are flexible which I also found as a nice Southern touch! Just use your manners. :-) The owners are just good, kind southern folk. If I didn't have to be in the wedding, I would have been just fine sitting out on the back great patio and shooting the sh*t with them. One thing to note, there is a long, shotgun staircase up to the room level so be aware of that should you have elderly or other similar needs. I consider myself old in my 50s and it is indeed a haul, but waits for you at the top of the stairs is an awesome experience! As far as the nearbys... plenty of food options from pub grub to Thia and Mexican and a steak house that clearly must be something because there were a line of people a block long wanting to get in there! There's also a store a few blocks up with all your basic needs including alcohol. I honestly wish we would have had more than one night and a rushed schedule as I could see myself spending an entire weekend trip there just to chill and we plan to do just that. The property as a whole is safe, new and modern. The staff is very friendly and ready to make you feel at home. The location of the hotel is near downtown Oxford and Ole Miss. It is located right on the campus of Ole Miss, so very convenient! I would imagine this hotel is PACKED for home football games. The furnishings were fine, beds were comfortable, pillows comfortable. Needs a refresh, for sure. Removing the carpet and putting down new floors would give some life into this room! More lighting would help as well. The bathroom is old and in much need of an overhaul!! Water pressure was almost non-existent. It felt like I was showering with just a trickle of water. But, still grateful I had one to use after a long day of moving boxes and furniture. I would definitely stay here again. I just now know to expect mediocre rooms. The pictures on the website make the rooms look much bigger, brighter, and newer. The lobby is beautiful and the outside of the building is beautiful as well. Just a big letdown when opening the door to your room after pulling up to the big beautiful building and walking through the spacious and beautiful lobby.

I think it was the really low/short stall walls and doors. Didn't feel very private and with wide open doors it seemed a bit vulnerable. A security shack with a guard and cart were up front and there was a button inside to press for security. That said, the abundant awareness of the security made me feel a little less safe in ways. I felt it was unusual for a rest stop and just like it probably was really needed if it was that present. So, glad security is there but I'd surely not go there after dark or take my eyes off my children for even a second.
