The hiking trail was well maintained and offered a wide variety of all things nature, frogs, birds, deer, beautiful trees. There is a disc golf course that I would have loved to use. Some of the sites could use a little maintenance, but the park overall is great. Maneuvering along the narrow and winding campground roadways can be quite challenging with a tow, but with a little patience and skill it is doable. If you like peace and serenity this is your place.

We'd have nice visits and meals cooked on the grill. I'd have never known about this place, otherwise. A former colleague of mine would also regularly have family reunions here. I would hesitate to camp here due to the preponderance of fire ant hills located all over the campground. Hopefully, that's improved, but sleeping on the ground is something that I'm too old for anymore.

He attended numerous adventure camps, spring break trips, fall break trips, new year's eve camp etc. The programs they have for campers are endless. As he grew older he transitioned into their leader in training program and last summer he was there the whole summer as a hired counselor in training. CLS has been a part of our lives for the better part of 10 years now and I am so thankful this camp has been there for him. He has made friends and had experiences he wouldn't have had if not for this wonderful place.

All the electrics worked OK in the water was good. There is a beautiful view of the Mississippi and the river was not high so you could walk along the bank and watch the river flow. There's also a lot of grass and open areas where a dog can run. Ours is on a training collar so he could investigate all around and you didn't have to worry about him bothering anybody. There's lots of space available. It's a pretty large park. The people were friendly when we checked in and everything went well. They had one bad review which worried us But for us everything was OK and we would come back again.

Grenada to the north has some great hiking trails. Jackson about an hour south was great to visit. Greenwood a half hour to the west was a pleasant surprise and French Camp to the east is supposed to be a cute little town. The location of this campground had way more to offer than expected. Also be sure to check out Whitney's boutique to get a fresh look for the ladies in your life. Krispy Crunch across the street made for a good snack and the sunset from the sites is delightful.

Refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher are all in the cabin as well (we stayed in cabin 3). Parking spaces are conveniently located next to the cabin for easy loading and unloading. The screened back porch features ample seating areas and a ceiling fan to keep things breezy. You will encounter mosquitoes, as you would expect staying in a forest, so bring mosquito spray and/or peppermint oils to deter. I made sure to rub peppermint on the kiddos when they were sleeping to keep them at bay. There are designated fishing areas and swimming areas. Also you can hike! There are camping spaces which we want to stay at next time, it looks clean and kempt! Amazing place to experience :)

Drink beer and cast lures in the water I think, I dunno I'm not a boat person. There is a restroom at the north end and one at the south end. I only went in the one at the south en (by sites 9-14) so I can't tell you what the north end one was like. Bathroom near 9-14 had sinks and toilets. No soap. Bathrooms were clean enough, nothing nasty but there was graffiti from 2013 - seriously someone put the date they scratched in their bathroom graffiti. Grass was a little long but not too bad, level areas for setting up tents. I wish people who used the sites would do a better job of not being fucking pigs and treating the planet like their own personal shit box. Spent the first 30 minutes picking up previous campers Corona Light bottle caps. You're provided with a full size lidded trash can with a trash bag at each individual camp site, why do you have to be a piece of shit and throw your beer caps on the ground? No home training is what it is if you ask me but now I'm derailed on my review. So back to the review - great scenery and view of the lake. Evenings in September are BUGGGGGY, deep woods off and 6 Thermacells were no match for the gnats and biting flies. Those bastards would bite you through your socks. Sockets that were drenched in deep woods off. Building a nice camp fire helped on the big front. Found a couple ticks as well.

But it's a tent-only campground and there were only a couple other tents there so it was quiet and peaceful. Our lots were large. There was plenty of firewood to be collected on site. There's a boat launch but it didn't add significant traffic or noise. The bathrooms were...campsite bathrooms. Not the best, not the worst. No locked on stall doors. No soap. But the toilets flushed so there's that. Very pretty view of Sardis Lake. The negatives: The flies!! They were so so bad! And bighty!! My poor dogs were covered in flies, as were we. Other negative is just about a previous camper. At our site, we picked up literally a case's worth of Coors beer bottle caps. Evidently they didn't throw away a single one, even though garbage is provided and literally just right there. The
