(Queen), the owner, is extremely militant about customers wearing the mask while in her salon. If you think you can go in this salon on a Saturday morning to relax while getting your hair done with a cup of coffee to sip while leaving your mask around your chin, think again! Queen was monitoring me between every sip, during my consultation with Renee, to make sure I replaced my mask. When I told her I wouldn't be coming back to her salon due to this, she THANKED me! There "are" other good salons in GT who are not militant with patrons. Sometimes, it's not what you say, but how you say it. Queen made it clear she didn't want my business. Mind you, we can go to any restaurant and not wear a mask during an entire meal, but we can't take two sips of coffee without the mask at Artsy Salon. If she's so concerned about keeping viruses out, maybe she should be screening people's temperature at the door. Although I love Renee, my stylist, I will never return to this salon due to the MILITANT disrespectful treatment I received! She's also the only person I trust for coloring my hair, and she nails it every time! It doesn't matter if I get balayage or jet black hair, each time it looks amazing. She is absolutely gifted at what she does. I also love all of the products used on my hair--they always leave it feeling healthy, my hair typically gets greasy and I feel like the products make a huge difference. I'm planning to purchase some soon to use at home! The entire team at the salon is warm and welcoming. Alex, the manager, is always so friendly, and Daniel, the owner, goes out of his way to make every guest feel at home. It really makes a difference when the owner is actively involved and genuinely cares about the client experience. The one star reviews on this page are completely unfair…read more I know the owner of the salon and maybe things get lost in translation because English is her second language. If you are a person of color and have very curly hair, and she tells you she's not very good at cutting it, you need to listen. Why would you want someone to cut your hair if they aren't an expertise in your hair type? Calling someone racist just because they aren't comfortable working on your hair type for fear of ruining it is an honest thing to do. Plus not all hair stylists are equal. Apparently I have to go out of my way to explain that. My haircuts and styles always wind up so beautiful. My husband and I have been coming here since 2020 with no issues.
