This is very sad that I have to give this place a 1 star. I had been coming to this place since…read more1978. It was so beautiful and well kept for years. I even got married there on the dock in 1995. We stayed in the cottage. It used to be an ice house. It is leaning so bad now you feel like you are going downhill. They put bunkbeds in the already small bedroom. There is still a queen bed in there, and a table I don't quite understand why it is there. When the new owners took over they drove it right into the ground. Not well kept up at all. They give you 2 complementary kayaks to use for the week but we did not get the life vests until the end of our time there. They came out and put them out without saying anything. The dock is leaning into the water so you do not feel safe on it. It is not pet friendly (It was always before) Not sure why you can not bring animals to this rundown place. I really wish this would have been a better experience. This property has so many memories for me.

The floors are filthy. One bedroom is so tiny that the bed literally takes up all but about six inches of the space. The only view of the lake is from the tiny upstairs balcony. One of the tables on the main deck is covered with mold and slime. The owner will lie and mislead. This is a lake-front property marketed to families, but no one tells you you're not allowed to swim in the water until you're already there. The dock has insufficient seating and other renters are allowed to dock their boat across the front of the dock for a week at a time so you have no view of the lake at all. Too many other good options to book this place.

The owners are really nice and they keep the cottages really clean. The big plus about these places is they are more up to date than all the "House Keeping" cottages that dot the area. These cottages are almost like having your own little home away from home and are great for families. Overall we where very very happy, and will be back!

I can't speak for all the cabins, but ours was updated and had the loveliest amenities, and it was spacious! All of the windows open and there is a screen door so you can let in the fresh air, but there is also an AC/heater so you will be comfortable. A full fridge, gas range, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot in the kitchen with every dish, utensil, or piece of cookware you could need. The toilet and shower are in the bathroom and just outside there's a little alcove with a huge countertop and sink and very large mirror. There's a large kitchen table with four chairs, two armchairs facing the television, and a roomy closet. It really is like a small apartment. (Actually, I had a small apartment and it didn't have nearly as much storage space.) Tons of drawers in the bathroom and bedroom area as well. Bed was a little uncomfortable, but everything was better than I expected so I wasn't upset about it. The proprietor is so nice!! Very helpful, full of recommendations. And the location is just in the center of town so it's close to any shopping or restaurants, and just a short drive or bike ride even from the water park, and only 15 min drive from Adirondack Woodcraft Camps (which is where my friends wedding was). You have to keep in mind this is similar to an Air BnB in that there's no housekeeping during your stay and you are responsible for tidying up after yourselves before you leave, washing your dishes, taking out your trash, etc. which wasn't so bad because hello, I'm not a pig. If you are, probably you shouldn't stay here anyway. But, highly recommend! I even mentioned to my boyfriend that I'd really like to stay again next summer and make a longer vacation out of it!

We camped in tents, a pop-up tent camper, a truck camper, a travel trailer, and lastly, in their cabins. Bottom line, it didn't matter where we slept. We always came back to this same campground. They are in a perfect location in the Adirondack Mountains and in walking distance to the town of Old Forge and Enchanted Forest Water Safari & Amusement Park. There's a nice pond for swimming, fishing, and non motorized boating. There's beautiful hiking trails & plenty of wildlife. Yes, including bear, which we saw on most of our trips there. Please don't feed them! They'll normally not bother you if you leave them alone. Feed the chipmunks instead. This is honestly one of my favorite places I've ever visited, filled with many special family adventures and memories. Do yourself a favor & go there, start a campfire, and start making your own memories. Full disclosure, these pictures are from my sisters recent visit. Not mine. I'll look for mine to add later. 2024-46

Glad we came again…read more We came once in 2006 and it was memorable, so much that my boys, now grown wanted to go again. So, in October of 2023, me and my two sons and my soon-to-be daughter-in-law, came for a visit, and we were determined to return. So, this year, my two sons, and my now daughter-in-law came before the summer season. We rented two cottages (these are great), next to each other, and this year our cottages had the best view of Lake Serene, and we were greeted with deer and a duck, we named "quackers" because he was a lone duck and kept joining our group. We will come again when we are able. I loved it, and we all needed a break. It's the kind of vacation you don't have to do anything but sit around a fire, eat and talk, even over the screens of your phone, where you're taking more photos than using the device.
