I took my clothing to Turn Style Consignment Shop in Scottsdale today 4/14/21. The guy working there told me to place my clothing onto the rack to have it checked in. He then asked if I had a mask. I told him that I had a medical condition that prohibits me from wearing one. He told me that I would need to stand outside while he checked me in if I didn't have a mask to which I agreed to do. The young girl couldn't find my account and the guy then said that he would not set up another account for me unless I wore a mask, even though I had already agreed to stand outside previously. I do not appreciate the rudeness nor the way I was treated by this man at the Scottsdale location. Mask nazis do not bode well. I will not be back and I will be sure to let others know NOT to shop the Scottsdale location either. read more

Do not expect to get paid on stuff you drop off here! Biggest scammers in the valley. I dropped a pair of expensive shoes off to be told they accidentally put them out early (before spring) and didn't sell so they were donated. Every time I called on the status I kept getting different answers. The manager Dawn was flippant to deal with and basically said yeah my staff messed up but you are not getting paid on $160.00 pair of shoes. Use EBay to sell not these scammers. This is not the first time I have had issues with this store but will be the last!!!! read more

The selection of "high end" items also leaves something to be desired. High end is in quotes because the include things like Michael Kors.... The store manager Dawn lied to us about the value of the furniture that we bought. She told us that when it was accepted for consignment she priced it based on paperwork she saw from the original purchase. We later found the this was sold by Costco at a fraction of what she said it was. We ended up paying for used furniture more than the original purchaser paid for new. I felt odd immediately. The store has a weird energy, the staff do too as they do not greet you, make eye contact, or anything really.....it's flat. The stuff is totally blah. I looked through the clothes my size and was disappointed, Goodwill is much better, I mean much, much, better. The shoes were old and severely used, purses were extremely outdated and looked like they were from the old K-mart 90's style.... Great if you're looking for Halloween outfits in December however, much higher prices. I also saw a few things that were torn, and a fake leather jacket with holes on the shoulder. If you want to buy something here it's great but if you want to clean your closet out and consign with them, forget it! The girls are rude and I brought in things that were really nice, including some MK pumps that had not been worn. They didn't accept even half of what I brought in and, I asked one of the girls about these gold lamps that were very nice but I changed out to a different style and the girl says, "they were dirty". They were NOT dirty. they might have had some dust on them from sitting there. Me and my sister were appalled at the way they treated us. I never like to use the race card but clearly when a white women came in with "older" items, they were nicer to her. I turned around and took my items and dropped them off at Goodwill!! I give this store a -5(negative 5). I am so applauded and disturbed by the way I was treated. I consigned with this store before. I've noticed at times the atmosphere and attitudes were strained, as though I thought. Since this last episode I know realize this bad attitude comes from the manager and trickles down to the employees. Last week I tried 4 times to consign my stuff. I guess they did not have proper staffing. When I arrived the last and final time I was treated very badly. The manager was rude, unprofessional, mean and is a cold person. WHAT HAPPENED TO GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!? Does that not exist here? I placed my stuff on the counter then went shopping and waited for my consignment slip. I waited and waited. Finally, I went back to the consignment area. She threw my NICE stuff all over the floor. She had every excuse for not taking any of my items, from " the time I came in(came in before 4), not taking size 7 shoes, they have too many bins in back???(what ever that means), it was too late to take clothes(I had only 5 pieces). She is treating me with prejudice. I am Hispanic and I have observed she treats other people of color including myself, disrespectful and discriminated against. I have civil rights which guarantees me the same rights as white individuals which I have the right to enforce and make contracts. Your store consignment transactions are considered a contract therefore refusing a transaction because of race is against the law. read more

I don't cosign here, but this is one of the locations I shop. I make sure to hit up all the clearance sales every season and can walk out with tons of clothes for so little money. They also do regular sales pretty consistently. I have found several party dresses here for a low price. They also have lots of furniture and home and decor items at a steal. Sometimes I've come out with one item and other times much more than one item. Stock is always updating and you never know what you will find. read more

Merchandise is ordinary, prices good but BEWARE bringing high end items there for consignment. They lost a $900. 2-piece St. John outfit I brought in. They won't say they lost it or that it might have been stolen, just that they can't find it after 2 employees (and myself) scoured the store from one end to the other over a period of several weeks. The attitude of the staff taking consignment items is awful!! I have no idea how they make their decisions on what they decide to take on consignment as I have seen lots of things on the racks that were pretty bad! (some clothing is damaged or outdated) I guess it depends who is working in the back and what mood they are in that day. The employees "screening" items to be consigned would benefit from being taught a course in etiquette! Smiling and saying thank you would be a start. Used to be a much better store. Packed up a carload of items to bring to their Scottsdale location and called ahead to confirm their hours, which their message stated was open until 8:00 pm and needed to bring consignments in by 7:00 pm. Arrived at 6:45 pm and consignment door is locked with a sign that said new store hours effective 04/19/21 (11 days ago) closes at 7:00 pm. I drove around to their front entrance and went inside to speak to the manager. Before I could say anything, the cashier warns me that they are closing in 5 minutes. I tell her that no one would know their correct store hours by calling their store, since they hadn't bothered to change their message. Snotty cashier says "We're hooked up with Google and we close at 7:00". read more

Took some things in and they accepted 5 of my items. A couple months later I am told 2 of the items have sold and 1 (the a black and white wallet) is still on the shelf. What about the other 2? Turns out one of my very nice purses is hanging in the store with someone else's account number on it, the other very nice purse I took in was put in the lost and found category and sold, and the black and white wallet must have walked out of the store because it can't be found and computer says it hasn't been sold yet. This was a real disappointment to me. How can one customer have these 3 circumstances happen in one transaction. I surely hope the young lady who worked there didn't have anything to do with this. I didn't get good vibes from her when she took my items in. Will never take anything to this store again. At least I got my red purse back and they paid me for the purse that had been put in lost and found. I suggest you take pictures of your items if you can. read more

Horrible customer service, no wait, NO customer service. No greeting, no inquiry while I was in the store. I took my 2 blouses to the counter to check out and the clerk there, without looking up said "we don't check out on this side". Ok... so took the blouses to the other side and another clerk checked me out. No smile, no conversation, no THANK YOU. The merchandise is usually pretty good, but there are other good consignment stores in the Valley. The other Turn Style on Tatum/Bell is usually friendlier. Must be better management. read more

I love the concept of Turnstyle. I've consigned clothes and purses with this location. They have some really great finds and prices are great. But the attitudes of some of the people that work at the Scottsdale location... I want to never return to them again. Great place to take nicer clothes (and home furnishings!) that clutter your closet. Remember to have them on a hanger when you bring them in! When consigning make sure that you specify that you'd like to have store credit OR cash. It's difficult to change your account once you are registered. Of course, you receive more compensation when you opt to receive store credits. I made the mistake of declaring "store credit" when I originally wanted cash. However, there is such a nice selection of items in good condition that I haven't regretted my decision. I'm saving up my store credits for one of the schmancy furs! read more

High prices Frumpy styles for sale Difficult to consign because they are too picky I once brought in a $3500 bedspread and they turned it down because there was a teeny tiny mark, about 3/16 of an inch, on the lining. This is a fantastic place to shop for fashion and furniture! I have found my favorite clothing and accessories at this Turn Style or the one located on Bell just West of Tatum. Both have great customer service. The furniture, paintings, and housewares are so unique and wonderful. Don't go for the cookie cutter look, go for your own unique expression. You can find such interesting items here and the Bell Rd Turn Style! They have name brand clothing, and also some unique styles. This is the same for housewares. I found my favorite wine glasses here at the Scottsdale Location which are long stemmed with unique hand painting of which I am complimented on each time I have guests. My wife and I were in Scottsdale today and decided to do some consignment shopping. We also happened to have some items in the trunk that we wished to consign. When we got to Turnstyle, there were three cars in the entire parking lot and the store was empty. Yet the girl in the back told us that consignment on the weekends was by appointment only and they had no appointments available today. So we drove downy the road to My Sister's Closet. They were happy to take 7 out 8 of the items that Turnstyle was too busy to look. And while we were there we spent over $100 on other items. I purchased 3 furniture items at this consignment store in Scottsdale. I asked the lady that helped me if she had delivery services. She told me no. I purchased the items and explained that I would send my guy to pick everything up. She had me complete all forms for the 3 pieces and told me she would label them and when my delivery service came by, they would have them ready. When my delivery person arrived the 3 pieces were not together even though she had me complete the forms with all my information and the delivery service info. I just called and spoke with the manager about this. She was rabid and rude. Wouldn't let me finish a sentence when I tried to explain how her sales person dropped the ball. I think her meds are off or something because she ended up hanging the phone on me. I asked to speak with her district manager and then she hung up. This is not customer service or troubleshooting to find a compromise solution. I'll never be going back to this place anyway. After I completed my purchase and browsing some more I found a flea on their dark blue velvet couch display. Yuk- Also hardly anyone was wearing a mask. read more

I am soooo angry at this store! It's been a couple days since this incident, and it's just now gotten to the point I can write about it. I found a small wrought iron patio set there the other day that I liked. The next morning (Friday) I called to say I wanted it, and could come to pick it up in about 90 minutes, after I completed my 1 hour physical therapy appointment. The employee I spoke to (Mary) told me that there was a weekend said and it was 25% off (even better!). She said she had pulled the For Sale ticket on the set, and would have it there for me at the front counter. I arrived as planned, and was told I had to talk to the manager. I was told they had sold the set!! They are not allowed to put items on "hold" during a sale. The manager said their employees knew that, but Mary told me she didn't know. I asked why they didn't call me, but she said she didn't know my name or phone number (which she never asked for). I stated my name when I called but she didn't make note of it at the time. I would have given a credit card over the phone if they had told me they couldn't hold items during a sale. But since it was the employees fault, they should have honored what she told me and kept if for me! It was her fault and the store's fault, not mine. But I am the one who lost out. They should think of their customers first and honor their word! I'm going to go back and collect the items I have there on consignment and won't deal with them again! read more
