I stopped in during an extremely busy time of the day but still managed to find a parking space within a reasonable distance from the front entrance. The interior was chaotic, it's seems everyone in Florida decided to have lunch here at the same time - well to say the least it was busy and a bit in disarray. I decided to headed to the Wendy's counter where I was met by Natasha and a big smile she took my order then my money and kept me company while my sandwiches were being prepared. After a little more than a few minutes my bounty arrived hot and fresh - my double cheeseburger was still hot and so delicious, this may have been the best Wendy's sandwich I've ever had bar none, even taking into consideration I was famished this Turkey Lake Service Plaza Wendy's Burger was just what I needed - I think Dave Thomas is probably looking down smiling and his infamous daughter Melinda Lou "Wendy" Thomas-Morse is still breaking the bank. I'd stop here again....

Located at mile marker 263.7, the Turkey Lake Service Station is in Orlando. I usually make it as…read morefar as the Canoe Plaza before leaving the Turnpike for the theme parks or to visit my daughter in Winter Park. The Turkey Lake rest stop has both north and south bound entrances. It is named after nearby Turkey lake which contains Bill Frederick Park. Food options here include vending machines, Dunkin Donuts, KFC, Nathans, Nature's Table, Villa Pizza, and Wendy's. There is the typical Sunshine market where you can pick up your sundries. Of course there are restrooms which is why you likely stopped as well as a picnic area. You can stock up on your tourist brochures which every kid likes to do in anticipation of fun destinations on a road trip. There is also expensive gas to refuel your vehicle. Normally I prefer a turnpike rest area to the ones on I-95. The reason for my one star is they don't require masks even though there are recommendations to wear one on the door. How can you not require masks at a place that has people coming through from all parts of Florida? I would like to note that the workers inside are wearing masks. Every day the number of cases of Covid is rising in Florida as is the death rate. It was upsetting to see hardly anyone walking in with a mask. No thanks. I don't want to be standing next to other non mask wearing people in the tight confines of the bathroom. Shame on the transportation authorities for not requiring masks for people entering the building. The more open plans of the I-95 bathroom rest areas is a better bet right now. The only turkeys I saw here today were the selfish non mask wearing people. Let's get it together Florida because it is going to take all of us.

I obviously had a different experience than others or something has really changed. Personally,…read moreI'm always happy when a rest area comes up when I need it or someone traveling with me needs it. No rest area is perfect. The cleaning and/or maintenance staff has a thankless job. As soon as the staff cleans it, or even while they are cleaning it, people just make a mess. Plus, no one can be there 24/7. People should really take better care and mind what they do...and be mindful of what they leave behind for staff "to do" because they didn't care, didn't pick up or clean up after themselves, were lazy, or just nasty. That said, sure...there were a few pieces of paper on the floor, and someone dropped a tissue, but it's not reason enough to call the place filthy. The important part is the facilities themselves were clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap. Isn't that what really matters? Moreover, the entry area was clean and tidy and the picnic area looked well-maintained. There is a family restroom located in front for your convenience if needed. The snack/vending area seems ample as well. Of course, there is plenty of parking, truck parking, and a pet relief area. If I have an issue with anything it is the quirky way you enter into this particular rest area...the road pattern is just strange. Please be advised, there aren't any tourist brochures at this location. This is basically a no-frills rest area and all business (if you know what I mean). At the end of the day, shouldn't we all be happy it's here? After all, sometimes nature calls when we least expect it!

Unlike it's partner across I-4, this particular rest area is very poor…read more The facilities are standard, but the water pressure is extremely low so don't expect to actually wash your hands. The vending machines work. Litter is picked up. What is really concerning is that the surrounding area has been under construction for quite a while now. When you first pull in, you cannot park on the "safe" side away from the interstate, you have to drive all the way around and park on the side where everything is torn up. You have to be very careful because there are very few to no safety barriers up in some areas and in bad weather, you could end up in a very deep ditch.

The property is extremely dated- Like circa 1987, I don't have to imagine to much to see the 1987 Prom being held here with the "Under the Sea" theme. Here are the positives The staff - Rachel, Gaaliyah, Mason at the Bar and Jennifer in the market, and Sebastion and Kelly at Valet all treated me like royalty Here are the not so positives The room is very dated - The chair in the corner looks like it was salvaged from the Goodwill or is the original chairs from the late 70s There's an odd outlet cover that when lifted up - has a light switch to what? no one knows The plugs and USB ports are flimsy at best In summary, you stay for the points, the service, and of course the baked chocolate chip cookies and everything else is meh.

No microwave and the carpet is gross and really needs to be ripped out or replaced. You can feel how old and grungy it is when you're barefoot. So I wore slippers in the room. There were water stains in all of the dresser drawers so I just kept my clothing in my luggage. The leather chair in the room was also cracked and falling apart. Definitely needs to be replaced. Walls are very thin and heard neighbors and people in the hall constantly. This hotel is definitely dated and in some SERIOUS need of renovations ASAP to be considered worthy of the Hilton name.

Days Inn by Wyndham South Westmonte Drive…read moreAltamonte Springs, Florida #buyerbeware #worsthotel #hotel The plumbing went out in my exhusbands home, so I got a room at this location so my family could enjoy a shower. For $101, my room should have been cleaned. I didn't care that the carpet is prehistoric. As is the bed spread. And, the painted brick looked awful. I needed a room so I could get my children and ex-husband cleaned. The attached photos of the bathroom do not really show how nasty the walls were. Just that they are.... We were assigned room 106. The bed spread smelled like wild monkey sex. And, is so full of burn holes it should have been trashed ions ago. The shower is moldy and dirty. A little bit of bleach goes a long way. Geez. The underside of the shower step in is nasty as all get out. The carpet was soaking wet right at the bathroom door. The bathroom is narrow and makes ya feel like the walls are going to cave. The alarm clock was underneath the bedside table on the left side of the bed along with a lot of dust. They obviously didn't think about cleaning that spot because I found a tall boy beer can under the table. Seriously?! How gosh darn lazy can you be? But, wait it gets better... So I picked my one of my daughters up from school. Got her things she needed to shower. We both took our turns getting showered and cleaned up and decided to nap while we waited for my ex and 2 other children. Turn the TV (which sucked) on low, my daughter is entertaining herself with her tablet and I went to sleep. I tossed the bedspread aside and omg. I was asleep in no time flat. Now, we had locked the door and engaged the security bar, but that didn't stop a hotel employee, who was sent down to get me because there was a glitch with the system. That derelict opened the door to my room. Talk about making dumb decisions! This idiot Didn't knock! Didn't announce himself! Nothing! Nadda! I was pissed. I cussed his little behind once I was away from my daughter. Him and the lady behind the counter. And, not in a lady like way!! I told them they had so many other options they could have chosen and barging into my room wasn't the safest thing to have done. Gotta hate that what if's game!! The rest of the afternoon went on without excitement. My ex and my kids came and cleaned up. I Enjoyed spending time with my Husband, Steel Fulks, who drove over to have dinner with me. Well, after my husband left to go home to care for His mum, I decided on sleep. I am a tolerant lady. I enjoy working with the elderly, and that definitely requires patience, but seriously WTF!!!! At 11:00, someone is banging on my door. Yanked me out of a dead sleep! Some dude at the door demanding that I let him. I argue with the jackleg I wasn't going to open that door and if he came into my room he would be taking a one-way trip and he better make sure his soul was right with Jesus. We were about to have a "Come to Jesus" moment here in Altamonte Springs. People were fussing outside my door for a while. I know I should have gone somewhere else, but when your are financially tight, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. My children needed a shower and to be clean. I woke up SICK from the stress. I was puking stomach acid up at 3am. Couldn't leave because of thunderstorms. 5am came rolling I was GONE. No one was available to check me out rang the bell...no one ever came. I thumped my key card under the window and left. I was done with this place. I am not done with this endeavor. Two people trying to gain entry into my room is an "Oh hell to the NO" kind of situation. I will be following up with more. I have spoken to two agents without successful resolve. This situation could have catastrophically ended differently

This review is going to sound a little bit like a novel…read more It all started when I booked the hotel. It was very easy, there were many options, and around ten different websites that give you different prices. I found the cheapest one at around $96/night for this hotel on Priceline. Great service and easy booking process. They allow for late check-in, late check-out they are very accommodating and easy to work with. Now comes the actual stay. When driving to this hotel we noticed a building with a lot of barbed wire. Apparently it's right next to a jail. This was a tiny bit of a red flag, but we assume the price of the hotel is so reduced because of this reason. Check-In Process: The check-in process is VERY easy. I had absolutely no problems. The women gave me a map on how to get to our room and where to park. She gave me a free parking pass. We had no issues getting to our room and no issues parking. You're allowed to check-in late if you give the hotel a call letting them know the time of your arrival. At this point for us it was midnight. Room Accomodations: When entering the room, the look is actually very cute. It looks like a dorm I stayed in college. I brought Lysol wipes and cleaned everything off before unpacking because I'm OCD. We were three people staying in a small room with two queen beds so we were dealing with that. I took a shower and the shower was fine, they provided soap and enough towels. Honestly didn't have a problem with the room. (Sorry for the pictures, I was only able to take pictures of the beds after our stay, the beds DID NOT look like that when we entered.) I am the worst sleeper when it comes to sounds and for some reason the location of this hotel since it's very close to the highway, there is a lot of noise. Ambulances, Police, Garbage Trucks, all very very noisy. My Oura ring said I only slept 2 hours and 30 mins, but all was ok because we were going to DISNEY the next day. Long story short, but our Disney tickets were INVALID and we weren't able to go to the park that day. It was 8:30 AM and we had our hotel booked for two nights. Because of this incident, I called the hotel and they let us cancel our second night and get a refund!! BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Normally, hotels would NOT let you do this without consequences, but Rose at the front desk was an absolute angel! Giving this hotel 4-stars all because of Rose!

While the outside looks typical motel from decades ago, management does try to freshen and brighten things up with splashes of color, in the elevator, lobby, rooms and more. We walked by some rooms and can see new mattresses in them still in their delivery bags. The rooms look bright, there are two curtains, one is a totally opaque black-out screen for privacy and sun shade. The beds are comfortable. There are microwave, iron board, coffee machine and fridge inside the room. There's even a charging pad on the lamp. However, updates seem to stop at the washroom area. the counter and sink do look old. In our first room the toilet was releasing water nonstop so we had to exchange for another room. In the second, the toilet still made occasional gurgling but at least not enough to interrupt our sleep. The a/c is definitely on the loud side. The breakfast selection is not bad, with hot items, cereal, bread, yogurt, fruits and more. Location wise, it's a bit off the theme parks and other tourist destination, but it's right off the highway (though the rooms are facing either the parking lot or pool so they are quiet enough), so it's an easy hop onto I4 to go to wherever you want. The price is not bad for the quality, especially as you don't have to pay for parking and resort fee like properties closer to the parks. But if you prefer to be more in the center of things, with easier access to restaurants and shops, then this is not for you. The only thing it's really close to is the correction center.

It's about 15-20 mins from MCO which is where our cruise shuttle left us off. We had the loaded nachos and chicken quesadilla (forgot to get photos) to split at the restaurant by the pool. We also had mango cheesecake and ice cream cookie sandwiches. I enjoyed their adult capri sun (I call them) while soaking in the hot tub. I didn't think their food fees were all that bad (as I expected resort type prices) and it's worth it to note they do include the tip in your bill. We had such a lovely day there and all staff were nice. The hot tub and lazy river (must have went around 10-12 times) were our favorites. They hold your luggage, so glad for. My only negative to report is the lack of chairs, we got there fairly early 11am and already there were no chairs. What is bothersome is most people weren't even using them. Perhaps they could use a locker system rather than ppl using chairs for their items as I would have loved to lay out. We walked around 4-5x before finding one chair to share.

However, they have a 24 hour deli/convince store that provides a microwave for use with the purchase of frozen or refrigerated meals which was nice. There was a bit of a language barrier between the housekeeping staff but they did a good job servicing the room while out at the conference.
