Alex from Turfland worked with us to schedule a golf putting green for our backyard. He brought samples of different artificial putting greens and fringe turf. We opted for the MSI putting turf with fringe pet turf as we have a dog and maintenance would be easier. They were able to get us quickly scheduled and got it done in just one day. They took care of excavating the original grass, digging out a few inches of dirt, covered it with a weed prevention layer, then filled it in with gravel and leveled it out. Then they were able to install our putting green design we discussed with beautiful curved edges. We had a water drain running underneath already and they were able to connect to it to help with water drainage in case of heavy rain. Overall, we absolutely loved the end result and spend so much more time in our backyard practicing our putts and even short chipping from a nearby mat. With less maintenance and noticeably less bugs we even have movie nights here and the turf has held up well. Worth the money and long term investment as we got more usable space for the family with rates below the average costs in LA. read more

Turfland - Artificial Turf Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Turfland installed some artificial grass at my house a few months ago. After a couple of months, here's my review. Installation went fine and took 1 day, including removal of the old lawn. The product itself is good and looks great. The turf gets hot in the sun during summer, but I understand this is a universal characteristic of artificial turf. So far, the turf seems durable, so all is good. read more

We've been wanting turf for some time now and after consultations from a few companies, we decided to go with Turfland and I'm so glad we did! The owner, Alex, was incredibly responsive and answered all our questions promptly. It was very easy and hassle free to schedule a consultation, the drop off of the materials, and the installation. On the day of, I would also say the team had meticulous attention to detail. They arrived at 7:30 in the morning and was able to finish the entire project in one day. They also went above and beyond by removing a tree obstructing the area and leveling the ground in an unrelated area, all at no additional cost. I highly, highly recommend going with Turfland for artificial grass. We are so happy and wish we started the process sooner! read more

Finally getting around to this long-overdue review -- and it's one of the most satisfying home upgrades we've done. Turf Land, led by Alex (owner) and David (project manager), completely transformed our yard and curb appeal beyond anything we imagined. Scope of Work Completed: - 4,000 sqft clean up - 3,500 sqft Turf Installation - 3,500 sqft Gopher Mesh Installation - Stepping Stone Design & Placement - Pet-Friendly Infill (safe & clean for our dog!) The Backstory: We moved into a neglected, tenant-occupied home three years ago. After finishing interior renovations, the outdoor space remained a constant source of stress. HOA warnings, regret, and embarrassment were routine. The Search: I contacted over a dozen turf and landscape companies. Many were overpriced or refused the job due to the condition of the yard. Eventually, I narrowed it down to Turf Land and another highly-reviewed company with 800+ reviews. What won me over? - David's follow-through was next-level -- consistent, professional, never pushy. - He even drove out on a weekend to drop off large turf samples. - Let us keep the samples for 4 days so we could see them in different lighting and times of day. Product Confidence: I did my research on the turf manufacturer -- checking UV resistance, PFAS, water drainage, flammability, lead testing -- and Turf Land's product checked every box. 18-year warranty vs. 12-15 from competitors sealed the deal. Installation Experience (4 Days): - I stayed home and observed the entire process. - David came out daily to oversee the work. - Their foreman was precise, clean, and professional. - They paused at every step to ensure we were happy. - They ordered a custom-sized turf piece to avoid patching, even if it meant an extra day. This team genuinely aims for perfection. Aftercare & Follow-Up: Post-install, Alex personally followed up. We had a tiny wrinkle appear near the edge weeks later -- they came back and fixed it without hesitation. No runaround. No excuses. Just solid customer care. Final Result: My neighbors compliment the yard every single day. Some even knocked to ask who did it. I've happily recommended Turf Land to everyone. Bottom Line: If you're considering turf, don't go with just a landscaper. Go with a specialist. Turf Land knows this industry inside and out, and they treat every job like it's their own home. Thank you Alex and David -- for turning outdoor regret into daily pride. You've earned a lifelong customer and a flood of referrals. read more

Great company to do business with. Alex takes his time and explains the process to you. I had artificial grass installed and he gave me the best quote. Will definitely do business with them again. read more

I recently had 4 artificial turf companies give me an estimate for replacing my lawn. I decided on Turfland because the General Manager came to give me the estimate and was not a pushy salesman, like several other companies. The price he quoted wasn't the cheapest but I felt more comfortable with Turfland. Surprisingly, They were able to come this week & install. From the moment the supplies were delivered at8am, to the arrival of the site supervisor and installation crew everyone was very professional. it was obvious each worker had done this many times before. I was very pleased with the outcome. The turf looks natural....the installers were very careful to orient the turf so that it gave the best appearance from different approaches. They cleaned up beautifully.I highly recommend Turfland if you are considering replacing your lawn. read more

The entire project took about two weeks to complete and we're pleased with the results. I look forward to using them for our front yard! read more

Overall, we had a very positive experience with Turfland. We worked with Alex on our initial consult. He was able to let us see and feel the different types of turf and I liked the fact their turf had a very lengthy 18 year warranty. He also talked through all the things his crew would do to prep the ground and base, including removal of a lot of roots from vines. His quote was detailed and very price competitive. His team did high quality work and they honored their quote even though they did experience some unforeseen challenges with some bigger roots they encountered. There were some minor communication issues between Alex, his supervisor for the project and the crew foreman, which required me to intervene to ensure things were getting installed as planned. It took them an extra day to complete because the weather was rainy but overall my experience with his team was very good and the end product is living up to my expectations. Overall, I'd recommend them to others. read more

Turfland - Backyard where grass and tree was replaced with artificial turf - Artificial Turf Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I recently hired Turfland. They performed exceptionally well. I found Alex to be a conscientious, very hands-on guy who came up with some great designs and exceeded my expectations. There were a few issues with sprinklers and some small corners cut, but I think that was from individual workers forgetting small areas or details. There was some debris left outside that I am sure Alex would have addressed had he known. I would suggest doing a full walk-through to give him a chance to address any small concerns. I am confident he would handle any issues. Overall, the price was competitive (not cheap), and the quality and professionalism were top-notch. I would easily recommend them to others. Thanks, Turfland! You earned my repeat business or referrals! Pat H. read more

Alex and the Turfland team are very professional from the time we call for a quote to the finish. The turf installation was smooth and looks awesome. It's hard to tell it's even artificial! The process was so painless that we wonder why we didn't do this earlier. Alex had various turf selection to suit different needs. My wife and I wanted to improve our front yard from the eyesore it once was, so we googled the best turf installation and just like that we found our company. David, our Project Manager, came out to meet us on Sunday, we discussed our vision, our concerns and our hope of an amazing product and we signed a contract that night. David was very knowledgeable, helpful and most importantly, not pushy in trying to make a sale. His turf examples were detailed in both quality, they were reasonably priced, but the most important part, he understood that this project was important to us as the homeowners. They amazing workers were scheduled to show up at 8:00am, but they showed up earlier and completed the project in one day! Amazing details, quality product and attention to the little things that can make or break a customer client relationship. Thank you so much for making our once ugly front yard so much better! I would give zero stars if I could, but I didn't have that option. I have been a property manager on golf courses in the desert and Beverly Hills as well as the Los Angeles area for over 20 years. My clients hired Turf land six months ago to do a 4000 ft.² backyard turf install. Within a month the gardener and I began noticing the turf was coming up and loose everywhere. We contacted Alex several times to come and fix and observe this unfortunate condition. Not only did he not come, but he did not send anyone over or return our calls. My company and I kept calling and finally he sends over one worker to look at the job. The worker did not speak English, and he said that he would come back and glue it down. In the meantime, we had another company come and give us an estimate and review the job. He said they did not use the right glue, they did not use the right nails, they did not use the right sand or do proper foundation for this install and we would continue to have problems. We called Alex again. He did not respond. After another couple of weeks he sent over another non-English speaking worker. They took video and pictures. They spoke with my Spanish worker and said that they would consult with Alex and that the wrong glue was used and it would take a couple weeks to order the right glue to glue it down but there was more than just glue. Nails were coming up all over the property, and there was severe shrinkage of 4 inch gaps between the stone and the turf. As you can see in the photos. It has now been six months and they informed us that we could no longer contact Alex. My boss said she hired Alex winning the bid out of several bids for this huge job because he said he lived in the neighborhood and could be right over if anything were to come up. We were informed by an answering service that we were no longer allowed to contact Alex in anyway. That he was out of the country and unable to be reached and they assigned us to an unknown person to attend to this issue. No one has ever gotten back to us. They leave me or my company a text and say they are showing up, but they never do. We are now hiring another company and sending them the bill. Hopefully this doesn't go into legal action but will if necessary. read more

Saddens me to write this two star review, but there isn't much of a choice. We had a small putting green installed (approx 300 sqft) with Turfland earlier this year. First off the good: - Alex and team are mostly good and friendly people. They're trying their best and I believe they'd like to run a successful business. They just aren't as professional as they should be at this point. - The initial cosmetics of putting green were solid - shaping, materials are acceptable. But that's about where this positive story ends. The bad: - Installation took 4 days instead of 1. The wrong size or materials were ordered on two separate occasions, the team couldn't figure out how to adhere the turf to a cement section, and two repairs after the initial install were done. - The foundation was poorly installed. 6 days after install, there were air pockets/bumpy surfaces showing on the turf. Turfland did repair, the same pockets appeared within days after the second try, and they refused to repair further. - Weed barrier wasn't properly installed. When the second repair crew came, the weed barrier was crumpled up under the turf and not properly laid flat or secured. - An invasive weed was not caught during the initial consultation. We have a weed that is not covered for repairs (according to their T's & C's). This should be inspected for, or at a minimum, made VERY clear that a type of weed isn't covered during initial consultation. Weeds showed up on the inside portion of the putting green within days of install. Turfland only offered to try again and solve this for an additional $1,800. I offered them several chances to make this right and they have refused, insisting they're losing money on the project and can't cover the expense (unfortunate but not the client's burden). Overall, I would reiterate these are mostly good people. However, I wouldn't describe these as turf experts. If you're spending a decent amount of money on a project, best to go with a crew that has decades of experience and stands by the quality of their work. I would be happy to update my review if they reach out to remedy. My advice to prospective or current clients - Withhold final payment until the invoice deadline. If you have a pending invoice, they're very attentive. Once you've paid in full, you're dead to them. read more

Turfland - Air pockets starting to show less than one week after initial install. - Artificial Turf Near Me - Los Angeles, California

All the above! Cindy will say this is a false review like she does every honest bad review. That is their only defense and response. This needs to stop here! Alex is the sells person whom promises 100% quality but delivers approximately 30% of what he sells accurately then disappears and turns it over to Cindy and David. They literally texted me. I am no longer allowed to contact Alex. These so-called false reviews are written by disappointed, disgruntled nice, ethical honest people who are just looking for a professional job to be done! Nothing more and nothing less. They are paying good money. Turfland is a hit and run. I have experienced it firsthand. They say they will come to repair it, but they do not show up or they send a non English speaking person who says it needs glue only and never returns. read more

Best Decision Ever! We've been wanting to redo our yard for some time now, because we knew it had so much potential. We liked our front yard grass, but it was just too expensive to upkeep. And our backyard was all mulch, which was so ugly and annoying to walk on. From start to finish, Alex was super professional. As the owner of Turfland, Alex showed great passion for what he does. He did our free on site consultation and even showed up the day of installation to make sure everything went well. We appreciated his great communication and customer service. The Turfland team showed up on time and was able to complete the whole project in one day! We were so impressed by their work. The turf looks so good and we've already hung out in our back yard more this past week than an average week this whole past year we've lived here.
