Full disclaimer is that I don't go to night clubs as often as I once did. I came here as part of a wedding afterparty. It was something pre-arranged by the bridal party and the DJ of the wedding party as well. For some weird reason, we were charged cover to enter into the club. It seems strange to me because we were coming as a pretty decent size wedding party. I would have thought the volume alone would offset the cover, but I guess not. Anyhow, you go downstairs and you're basically in one long tunnel. The layout's kinda weird to an extent, but whatever. It wasn't a full night per se, but the back area was closed off so most of the people were in the middle section of the floor. There's only one long bar section so it can take a while to get drinks. I can't say I was captivated by this place, although I didn't have such high expectations going into it. My favorite thing had to be the lights on the ceilings, but other than that everything else was just ok. If you put yourself on the guest list ahead of time you can enter free before 11pm. It is tiny and gets really crowded. Everyone is bumping into one another and the floor is completely wet covered in spilled drinks. Fyi be careful if you are in heels. Crowd was very diverse, however there were a lot of older men dancing with very drunk 20 year olds... a little weird especially it being my first time here. I would not necessarily consider this a "nightclub" it looks more like a bar with a mini dance floor, a more posh version of course... the lights if anything give it its appeal. My best comparison would be DOWN in Boston, but even then this one is much smaller/narrow. Now lets get to the music.. I really really hated the music. It was pretty much all 2000 throwbacks. Don't get me wrong, any other day I love it but when I'm trying out a new club I really don't want to be dancing to that. It is just not something you would experience at an actual nightclub like Venu or Cure as far as music goes. Cocktails range from 12-16$ and beers by the bottle are 7$ I would not come here as my first choice if looking for a night out in Boston. But, if you're just looking to drink with a group of friends and not go anywhere too fancy, I would try it out. Honestly, this was my most disappointing club experience ever. It was $20 cover that we got reduced to $10 because of how late it was (and only after asking.) The light were way too bright for a night club. The DJ kept mixing different songs together, but played songs that were just... slow and emotional. There were some decent tracks, but not great. Interesting! We came in to this place, paid the $25 cover, went downstairs, ordered 2 shots of Beam. Bartender gave us two glasses of champagne instead ($20 a pop.) No problem, it was loud and she probably couldn't hear, we paid up without saying anything about it and moved to the end of the bar. 5 minutes later the bartender walks past us and yells "asshole." Nice! The other bartender subsequently refuses to serve my friend because "we didn't tip" (we tipped 25%.) A THIRD bartender comes over and pushes *her* away and gives us drinks. If I wanted to be cursed at for no apparent reason I would start dating my ex again, it's a lot cheaper than going to this lame excuse for a club. Asshole. read more

Wish I can give this place zero star if I could. The security used his broken scanner, which obviously could not detect my valid, real ID and just denied our group's entry. It is absolutely ridiculous and I will never come back to this place again. Do not recommend. Also my friend tried to get inside later just to use the bathroom and he told my friend that he already told her that her ID is fake. Well this certainly isn't the Tunnel NYC, but in my "advanced" age this is probably a good thing as I'm not sure I would survive a night at Tunnel NYC now. We were having drinks at the W on a Saturday night and decided to continue the festivities at the Tunnel, the nightclub under the W. The club has the requisite velvet rope and large bodied security staff, but unbelievably they were actually very polite and let us right in. The hostess was also especially nice. She asked if we were on the guest list to which my wife replied "No, but can we be?" The hostess said of course, enjoy your night which saved us the normal $20 cover. This was also very surprising to me and not what I am used to from my club boy days in Miami. The venue is not very large, but the DJ was very good playing a good mix of R&B, hip-hop, and EDM. The Tunnel filled up pretty quick but I would say it never got to the point of being uncomfortable. The crowd was pretty good and I didn't see any shady individuals or creepers. The people here are much better than what we saw standing in line at the Market the night before. Overall I would say that it's a great hassle free time at a club. Drinks are also pretty reasonable and although the couches were reserved for bottle service, we were able to sit on one of the ottomans without any hassle. I must say the ceiling lights were also pretty cool. read more

Great place! It's not huge, but spacious enough to dance and have a good time. The couches are available if there is no VIP scheduled for it, or you may sit there until the VIP party shows up (usually you can sit there until 11-1130) since there is usually always VIP that fills the couches and tables up. One negative thing is there is only one bathroom each for men and women. I understand many clubs are like this, but it does suck! The music genre varies but is basically the latest hits. A lovely young blonde woman, apparently from Texas, was also was enjoying a night in Boston. She tried to get in and was verbally accosted by what I could best describe as Satan in the human form. He took her ID (clearly 21). He took her car keys. Most importantly, he took her juul and every pod in her possession. Never in my life have I seen anything like it to be quite honest. I nearly vomited into the night streets of Boston just seeing it. The police were called. People were crying. People were screaming. And here I was, standing and observing. Even as I sit here writing a Yelp review for a club, I tell you that I've learned (for the most part) that Yelp is not the place for you to get a true review of a club. If you look at the reviews even here there is a pretty ridiculous range from really great to the shittiest night of people's lives, so keep in mind that there's a lot of things that can affect how a person/group enjoys a night club. You'll learn if you happen to have so much time in your life to read my other reviews (and if you do we should chat about time management), that I don't tend to hit up a club if I don't have a free cover promotion. So I came on a night where a simple guest list sign up got us in before 11PM for free. Even though it was early, there was still a pretty good crowd in the place, and my friends and I used this opportunity to explore, get a quick drink and just sit on the couches and chat for a bit. As you can see from other's pictures, the place really does look cool. The lights are fun and create a great vibe and the actual "tunnel" is a refreshing change from the square room night clubs we all love to hate and hate to love. Over the course of the night, the place filled up - but not to the point where it was annoying. demographically, we found it to be a fun crowd - mostly people in our age range and wasn't surrounded by a million creepy men just trying to grab you. Do not go here for NYE. I paid $70 for my ticket to go here last night and received none of the promised drinks. On the ticket it specifically said that we would get two drink tickets. When we asked the bar tender about them she said "No you don't get drunk tickets you just get champagne at midnight". Midnight rolls around, my friend goes to the bar to get the glasses of champagne and she is charged $10.50 for a glass of champagne. So $100 later I paid for what can be described as an average night out in Boston just a cover that was literally 7 times more expensive. Next year I will not make the same mistake. read more

I went on a Thursday night, so it just wasn't as poppin' as you might expect. I should go back on a Friday or Saturday to really get a feel of what it's like. I didn't pay a cover, but not sure if that was because I am a female. We had a table, but the tables really aren't very separate or private. Also there are lots of spilled drinks and stuff on the floor. Lights and decor were nice, I loved the colorful lighted ceiling. Bathrooms are tucked in the back, each bathroom is small, but it's enough. I didn't want to pay for coat check, and if you have a table, there's space to leave your coat. Tunnel definitely has potential. I went on Saturday of opening weekend and loved the venue. Well decorated, the famed LED light ceiling is something to see and the staff was on their best behavior. It will be interesting to see the crowd of regulars that Tunnel attracts, as that will make or break it. The mix on Saturday seemed part curious Bostonian, part club regular. Not a lot of dancing going on, which is a shame since the setting is perfect for it. $30 cover charge seems absolutely exorbitant, but ladies got in free, this weekend at least. read more

I ended up going to Tunnel after getting bored waiting in line to enter Venu. Turned out to be a good move.. mostly! It IS a small space, feels very intimate - like everyone here would know everyone - almost like a loungy post work mixer..? It got better in a while though when the DJ dropped some sick house tracks. I realized I'm not a fan of techno-fied top 40s so that was a bummer. The crowd is diverse, decent and felt late 20s-early 30s. Girls, you really don't have to worry about surprise butt grinding here. AT ALL. Bartender was a boss - she mixed me a super heavy cocktail n I was set for the night! Bouncer guarding the restrooms was a cutie - made great conversation! Nice spot for $10 but I doubt it'll become a regular haunt for me. read more

This place is trashy and strange. And we had a GREAT time. Trying to find a place to dance, my friends and I were tired and fed-up with all of the lines and obscene cover charges every place we tried was charging. We came across this place, and were graciously escorted in right away, free-of-charge, by the bouncers (we arrived before 11:30). Our happiness was doubled when we realized there was also a coat check, free-of-charge. We got downstairs to find that the club is this strange little dark place (I guess that's where the name comes from) with a really cool colored-light ceiling. The crowd is a mix of f*ckboys and girls in super trashy outfits (ladies, this is the place to break out your stripper heels and strappy little dresses)...but, I guess that's what I would expect. It was a decently sized-crowd: enough people where it doesn't feel awkward, but plenty of space to dance and move. The two DJs were AMAZING. Damn. They played an awesome mix of mid-2000s stuff (my favorite), EDM, and current top 40 with some excellent mixes and mash-ups. When my friends and I had reached the point of exhaustion it was so hard to leave because each new song that came on was so good! Came here on a Thursday night around 11 and it was very empty. However, there was no cover and we stayed because we were told it gets packed later on. At around 12:30 this place was pretty packed and everyone was dancing and having a good time. The crowd is SUPER diverse. They do cater to an older crowd tho and I'm very happy about that. The drinks are the same as any other club. The bar is easily accessible and it was never difficult to get a drink. The LED lights overhead was interesting... The space is pretty small and I can see how it would get packed and unbearable pretty easily. The bathrooms are at the very back and it's single stalls... Lots of privacy if you need it! Music was very mixed... first it was slower oldies, but then it picked up a little but still hip hop/top 40s. Very little EDM. Overall, decent for a Thursday night, but didn't knock it out of the park for me. read more

Finally had a chance to check this place out this past weekend. Went on a Saturday night pretty early around 10-1030. We didn't have a problem getting in at all. I haven't really hit the club scene in Boston in a while but man the 30 cover charge is a bit steep. maybe I've been out of the loop a while for club prices.. but damn, than I'm paying 10-15 for a mixed drink? POW ! right in the kisser !! But it is a nice venue. its long and narrow, not crazy narrow maybe about 15-20 ft wide and just stretches back. obviously it goes with the name "Tunnel". not a ton of room to dance but I'm sure you could manage. its clean the floor wasn't stinky no glasses and bottles all over the place. But like i said we were early so who know as the night goes on. The LED goes through out is pretty dope, the music was good the crowd was nice. everyone was dressed well all collard shirts, blazers, dresses like a more mature crowd i guess you could say (or just pretenders hah) one thing i did notice that i was like WTF was all the bathrooms, they had like 5 and from what i say there was only one guy but it was a unisex. so on a busy night I'd be a little upset having to wait for one unisex bathroom. at least it was really nice and clean though hah. read more

Came here for St. Patty's and was having a great time with my BF and BFF when we were visiting from Atlanta. My boyfriend got kicked out at 11:30 for acting drunk but he was just dancing. Guess guys in Boston have to stand in the corner and sway back and forth and only girls are allowed to dance? My oh my this place is teeny. The W really tried to maximize their revenue by trying to make their basement into a club/lounge. Came here on a Friday night and couldn't move without bumping into someone. Forget about dancing... there just isn't any space!
