Worst seafood I've ever eaten. OVERPRICED FOR QUALITY. Every meal is over $16 and not worth it in the least. They even have a disclaimer saying they are not responsible for over cooker steaks. I think we could've eaten better at a gas station. Server was awful, super rude the whole time. Salad bar is tiny with minimal options and 3 bottled dressings. Food came out almost an hour later and was cold and unseasoned. I'm pretty sure I'm left with some kind of food poisoning. We always come here for special occasions or when family comes to visit. Worth the drive from DeRidder. Plus on Lake Kincaid and the view is gorgeous. The Snapper Sandy is my absolute favorite. The loaded yam tastes like a dessert. Their bread roll on the side tastes like delicious Indian fry bread. Hubby ordered steak and shrimp, cooked just like he likes it, good size shrimp on the skewer. Others ordered the quail. The alligator dish, all were great and tasty. Ambiance - 1 Service - 2 Food - 2 Value - 2 I will say the fired Alligator and crawfish were pretty good, but we were with a large group of people and I tried alot of things and most everything else was mediocre at best. Service was veeerrrryyy slow, waiter was not very knowledgable on menu, all seafood is made from fozen, not fresh. Just not worthe prices. $18 for frozen crawfish pasta - and a small portion at that. My husband's "twice baked potato" was a disaster, just because you cook a baked potato too long to where it is dry, does not make it "twice backed". Need to read a cookbook. Fried pickles were not even palatable, just too salty...why would you add salt to the batter when pickles are saltly enough. Rooky mistakes. Overcooked fish, and the list goes on. My wife and I went last Friday night. We ordered the fried alligator and they brought us about 10 pieces of popcorn chicken bites (yes it was actually chicken, and they shamelessly served it as alligator @ $1 a piece ) With half the dining hall vacant, it took an hour and 42 minutes to get our drinks refilled and our order, and I'm pretty sure the "Snapper Ponchartrain" was actually Tilapia Frozensection. The food did not taste bad, except the gumbo.... that my wife ordered.... it was pretty horrible....... that being said: it isn't worth $27 a plate to be served Army chow-hall style food on styrofoam to-go plates. I would rather pay someone another $81 to take two bricks and slam my nuts together then to go back to this restaurant. If you must go try it for yourself, bring some mosquito repellant, some Imodium A.D., and some Vaseline for when the check comes. You've been warned. read more

After a grueling 28 mile run, the second half in the dark racing against the clock to make it to any restaurant near Azalea Trail, we opted for Tunk's. The over priced dishes ($18) resembled something that was pre-prep'd, frozen and nuked to required temp. In fact, before we were able to make a salad from the salad "boat" bar, our meals were delivered. I like fast service, but too fast and it makes you wonder. The only redeeming quality was our waitress. Even though she looked to have had a busy night, she was a sweetheart. Nevertheless, should have simply crawled into the tent with a power bar and chia seed or gone to Uncle Albert's Fried Chicken Restaurant. read more

I think that this is one of the best restaurants in central LA, my family has been eating here for many hears and we plan to continue, personally i think that the best item on the menu is the fried Alligator. Wether you get the meal or the appetizer its the same stuff, just a different portion, the oyster bar is very enjoyable but the live music is a little loud and the service is not as good as the dining room on top. Id like to say that the scenery is Amazing! the restraunt is overlooking a lake and it is all very nice to look at. Also there is a small park type of place right outside the oyster bar that deserves a look once you're done eating. read more

The Oyster Bar here is fun. Good live entertainment from a musician named Rusty Allen. The restaurant sits on beautiful Kincaid Lake. The food goes from average to excellent depending on the items ordered. There is a lot of fried food selections on the menu. The boiled crawfish when in season are excellent as is their signature dish, The Snapper Sandy. The oysters are good, but they are not like New Orleans or Baton Rouge--I am told they are Pasteurized which reduces the risks associated with consuming raw shellfish, but I believe it also diminishes the taste. Food in the main restaurant is served on regular china, but if you eat in the Oyster Bar, it is put in plastic and Styrofoam, which may bother some people. Overall, a great location and atmosphere with good food. read more

Just ate here with two business partners. I had the Snapper Pontchartrain blackened. It was excellent. Not sure why other reviews state that the portions are small... because my entree came with three fillets. I would call that a large portion. We started with Blackened Alligator and it was delicious as well. Setting by the water was classic Louisiana. Service was good and the waitress new the menu well. The manager, Jimbo, would not even respond to our table. He told the waitress to tell us that the length of time we waited was acceptable even though our friends who arrived with us ate and left before we ever received our food.
