Tune town is the only creature of its kind. The recent expansion has made it a beefier, toothier, deadlier beast while still being cuddly and fuzzy and gentle and sweet-tempered with all of its friends. This is a shop that doesn't exclude, conclude, protrude, or be rude. You want classic rock? Yes. Do you want rap? Yes. You want punk, '76 to now plus all the proto-punk that can be scraped from the depths of the sea? Yes, you are allowed. You'll find jazz, country, soul, novelty, and the whatevers. And if it's not in stock, Tune Town will order it for, real friendly-like. Don't listen to the naysayers. These are the folks who go on a Caribbean cruise, sign up for an excursion on Grand Cayman and have complaints ("we'd give zero stars if we could!!!"). They complain that the experience of feeding the sting rays just wasn't all they'd hoped for, want their money back, and can someone please give them back the time spent in the gorgeous Caribbean sun while half the world is starving and can't get clean water. So, stop blaming the sting rays for your troubles and stop down at Tune Town this weekend. This is not a paid promotion. Excellent selection of 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's all genres new and used vinyl. A LOT of CD's too!

I Personally don't think the vinyl needs to be changed, it's the thing that rose you to a great lengths, but you know what you also have, in that basement? What can I say, it's movies, obviously. while dvd's and blu-rays are easy to get, I have seen vhs tapes not be in the main aisles, I haven't seen a lot of vhs in the main aisle, so here's my idea. You have dvd's on the top shelf, except for the Blu-ray section, and have dvd's for the next 2 shelves. But have the bottom layer be slipcase and squeeze and shake cases vhs. I also recommend sorting DVD's and vhs tapes by company, to find movies a whole lot easier. but that's my only complaint. read more

I always stop by when going through Mankato. Their new stock is great in many genres. I prefer TT over several places in the cities for new vinyl. Used turnover is obviously higher in larger metro shops, but they still keep a ton of used inventory. All that is missing is TT stickers read more

As one of the few record stores left in Mankato, this place fills the void and is a pretty good shop. Is it Electric Fetus? Not by a long shot. The place smells like mildew, perhaps due to a flooded basement? The record collection is pretty good... a little bit of everything, but if you're looking for something specific, there's maybe a 50-50 shot that they have it.. The used records are in alphabetical order, but there are no tabs for artist categorization, so you need a lot of time to sift. The used records are also incredibly overpriced. $15-$20 for an old used record is pretty common. read more

So you like vinyl!? Don't go to screw town. They pay rock bottom price for their stock, and they get it low, and charge mint prices. You know the band, $19 in rough shape, $29 because they have no clue. What's a record sleeve? What's a vg+ to vg album look like? They don't know. You want a laugh, look behind the counter and the records they think are the cream and the price they charge. Just went there for rsd and bought $88 worth of gem. I asked for $4 off a $24 used, non original, Beatles album. Been buying many albums at over priced prices for some time, make me a deal! $88 on the counter! Asking for $4 off 1 album! That wSnt worth the price I offered!! That will be the downfall. Anything you've heard of is over priced. Anything you want is triple. Original sleeve. Ha, never heard of it. read more
